I’ve been seeing a lot of discussion about how harmful and self destructive the “anti” philosophy is. And it’s actually really interesting in a morbid curiosity and fandom history kind of way. I’ve even seen people doing like full on academic research about it.

#I think I'm too old for the anti and pro ship mess tbh #deff too tired #I don't identify with either tbh #it's way more productive to have like actual intelligent conversation about media thanit is to have moral purity discourse #like yeah I agree some things like grooming and predatory relationships being normalized in media is really bad #i have fallen victim to that #BUT on the flip side harassing some stranger on the internet isn't going to help anything #also a lot of people engaging with problematic content are using it as a form of catharsis #idk i'm no psychologist but it's really interesting to learn about the affects this moral purity problem in fandom is having #it's not my place to judge people based on what they like #well i am judging but it's not my place to make a big deal about it #block and black list and move on
