Sonic Underground leading into Sonic Boom

Yeah!

I'm not the first one to have the idea, but there's still not a lot of content surrounding it, so I've been having fun with the concept.

For me, it was mostly inspired by how, a lot of the ways that the technology and background characters are designed in Boom really calls to mind the way Underground looked, (Sonic's plane and atv / Lyric the Snake fom the games, and that Platypus guy in Role Models especially).

Plus Sonic's tri-neck guitar in Battle of the Boy Bands that... literally used a sound beam to break a mind control spell.

#like... a lot of the overlap is more than likely callbacks/references or coincidence #but it's kinda more fun to go 'hey Boom is kinda out of place. a lot like Underground...#and they're more similar to each other than most of canon...'#anyway the BEST way to make an in-universe fic for this is to set it at the concert they were invited to in Planes Trains and Dude-mobiles #which they were a month early for. make it so that it was a music festival that multiple artists were invited to #including Eggman (who apparently has a golden record in Boom) and Sonic Underground. It's a perfect recipe for chaos and shenanigans #I've got a draft in docs about that but it needs a lot of work. so I've mostly been focusing on my AU instead #thanks for the ask!#asks answered #sonic boom #sonic underground
