So I think 11.12 makes it canon that Mickey can sometimes put on a hell of an oblivious, clueless, dolt act. Not that we didn’t have our suspicions, but it’s one and for all settled. He managed ALL DAY LONG to act as though he both didn’t know it was their anniversary and hadn’t planned a big ass party.

So. If that’s the case, let’s look back on some of the cringe- inducing moments from 10 and 11 (esp 11), and ask ourselves, was Mickey playing the long game? Was it a defense mechanism that made him pretend to be that way? Did he have a plan?

If you’re referring to Mickey’s “tantrums” in 11x11, I think we can all agree that that was more a defende mechanism than anything else. I don’t think he was faking it then, I believe he was genuinely uncomfortable with the situation.

However I’d like to think that the wedding money situation was him playing the long game, even though the writers most likely forgot that storyline altogether  💔

Lots of talk about wardrobe recently! I noticed that Mickey’s back to baggier clothes these last two eps. Him sort of hiding in big shirts/jackets/jeans while dealing with Terry’s death sort of works for me.

Mickey’s clothes often reflect his state of mind. In earlier seasons, he would always be wearing layers as if to protect himself. I think it makes perfect sense that he’d use baggier clothes now - with the addition of some of Ian’s pieces for comfort, like that beige henley he’s wearing in the 11x10 promo.

Did you notice that Ian and Mickey haven’t even been shown in their work “uniforms” in a few episodes? I assumed the storyline was going to be that they would not have enough business after all the crackdowns… But no one’s paying attention to that! Are we even going to get lipservice to the fact that they don’t do their security business anymore? It also seems like some thing that would’ve been interesting to explore as they moved into their new place.

Yea, I noticed it! And as much as I love seeing them in different outfits (the camo thing was cute, both of them matching, but it was getting kinda old) I kinda worry about that? Maybe they’re just focusing on the moving storyline for now, or maybe they’re getting less business because of those cops that busted the weed places. I doubt we’ll get any meaningful resolution on the very last episode, but I wish we would.
