Describe Eris and Alexius' wedding (be as detailed as possible)

First of all, I must shout out @thrumugnyr art of Eris and Alexius which to me looks like a snap shot at their wedding. Like omg, they are SO SOFT in this art. And the unicorn horns all decorated in flowers and crossing just makes it look like they're standing at the alter with two unicorns bowing in front of them. PLEASE GO LOOK AT IT, I LOVE IT.

Anyways, onto some headcanons.

Firstly, I think that their wedding/mating ceremony would be a very grand and extravagant affair. It would be after Eris is High Lord and Alexius has lived at The Forest House as his Consort. Basically I think Eris would want to make it a huge spectacle, not only because he wants something expensive, monumental, and grand - but also because he knows it would send a very clear political message to The Court and any of the detractors about Alexius being his partner. Alexius is my Mate and second in command and you will respect him as you respected previous partners of High Lords.

I think that Eris will also be a huge bridezilla and take over a lot of the decision making. Alexius has taste but he can sway into gaudy and camp far too much. Eris wants elegance fitting of the monarchs they are, and often times they will butt heads about some of those choices, with Alexius reminding Eris that it's his wedding/mating ceremony too and there needs to be SOME Alexius flair (basically make it gayer) in there. Which after a bit of pouting Eris will concede to because he has a point.

It's going to be a multi-day affair, with family, friends, and important political allies in other courts coming to witness the event. Eris and Alexius' moms - Orla (now with Helion) and Eleni - are of course going to want to have a lot of influence in the events as well. Eris and Alexius are both huge mama's boys and I think it would be really fitting if they each walked their sons down to the aisle before they join together.

I imagine that Eris would wear something very Autumn Court. Maybe a burgandy suit that is cover in golden leaves, the jacket having a long train. And his waist will be SNATCHED. He'd wear his fire High Lord crown. I see Alexius wearing something that clearly signals a mix of Day Court and Autumn Court. I think for the purposes of their ceremony, going fully Day would not be a good move, and Alexius would want to show that he is embracing his role in Autumn. So I picture him also wearing a more Autumn esque suit, but leaning more into white and gold colors with a more free flowing fit to give the looseness of Day Court robes. And he would wearing a golden leaf crown on his head to symbolize his Consort status (now I'm realizing this description is a lot like Thrum's art work XD. Influenced). Oh and he's going to be glittery AF.

Since SJM has really heteronormative rules about how mating bonds are accepted - I sort of have my head canon about same sex mating bonds where with the males there is kind of a lack of choice in the acceptance/rejection. When it snaps they just immediately go into a frenzy. I picture that Alexius and Eris already did a more ceremonial exchange of food early in their mating bond to really seal the deal, so at this particular ceremony it really is just for the ritual/show.

I imagine all of Eris and Alexius' friends and family there. For Eris, his best friend Daphne and her wife Jocasta will come over from Montesere - both of whom will be so happy for both Eris and Alexius. Eris' brothers will all be in attendance, even Kian who up until now has struggled with Eris being so open with his relationship with Alexius (there is a long, long angsty history with them because I headcanon Kian being the other gay brother and unlike Eris, had a harder time of hiding it and felt betrayed by some of Eris' actions in their past. I'll save those details for a potential fic one day maybe). For Alexius, you know all of his big ass family is going to come, including his father's side who are going to be really shocked by all the richness around them. Patty, Theo, Nyssa, and Fiadh (which might lead to some interesting interactions with Fiadh and the Night Court) will come too - and Patty is going to be a little bitch to Eris - his favorite thing. But ultimately he is going to be happy that he is making this big commitment to Alexius and knows his friend deserves it.

Of course - they will have to have a FABULOUS first dance together. They wouldn't be them if they didn't, and it's going to be both elegant and sexy. Maybe even a little too sexy for the event, but they have a tendency to do that.
