Load Shedding Problem In Pakistan
Load Shedding Problem In Pakistan

One of the key difference between a developing country and developed country is power management. Electricity has become a basic need, and it’s unhindered, continuous and smooth supply is the necessity, but in countries like Pakistan, it’s still a luxury and more or less an elusive dream. Whether it is a megacity like Karachi or a remote small city like Kohat, the aggravated story of dismal power supply remains the same. Throughout the country, in all the four-four provinces, in every major or minor city, in every town or village, there nothing exists like solid and robust power supply. The so-called load-shedding remains an integral part of rural and urban life. It does not even go away in winter, but in the summer, it becomes the thorn in the eye. The abuse and curses K-Electric get in summer if written on paper and loaded on Titanic; Titanic would not require a storm to get drowned.
Electricity has become an extremely important thing in our lives. If we ask a student, he/she will tell us how these students have to go through this mountainous problem during exams and their future becomes dark along with the darkness of their homes. If we ask a laborer or a daily wager, we will know how it has become almost impossible for him to feed his children and take care of them when they are ill. Majority of Pakistani consists of uneducated people. They are skilled laborers who are working in factories or mills but many factories and mills have been closed due to electricity load shedding and thousands of people have lost their work. They are living hand to mouth and the government is doing nothing except crying its own wears. If we have a look at hospitals, we will know the worst condition of patients over there waiting for their deaths because it has become a routine to lose electricity even during operations. Many patients lose their lives because of this problem.
Now the shortage of electricity is not only hitting the above-mentioned subjects but it is a cause of the insufficiency of water, gas and other domestic and industrial issues. Inflation has already deadened the poor Pakistanis but the electricity issue are enough to wipe them out of the surface. If the government does not take interest and resolve this issue, it will indeed become very difficult for Pakistan to survive in this modern world where energy is highly needed to progress with other countries. To overcome the problem, dams are the best means to produce a large number of electricity units. Windmills can be established to take to task and create electricity. We should remain hopeful that one day we will get rid of the energy crisis and we, too, will be to step ahead in this world proudly like other developed countries like USA, UK, China, Japan, and Germany, etc.
