Lupin III Chapter 1 Review

Omg!!! I'm finally gonna do it for real!!! It's been a while so sorry if I'm sorta rusty on this haha

The chapter doesn't reveal Lupin's identity until the end, but I'm gonna spoil it to you anyway.

He's the guy with the glasses! Next to him is detective Kogoro Akechi, whom Lupin is going to be narrating this chapter to. He says it's gonna have a good ending, so let's see if he's right.

It all starts in this awesome estate that belongs to a man called Dr. Ouki. His two daughters are hosting a party in his estate but all of sudden, it is interrupted by none other than Inspector Zenigata!

Nobody likes him and doesn't take him seriously at all, but finally, Dr. Ouki comes out hearing the commotion and Zenigata sorts out the situation to him.

Zenigata's been given a warrant to search his estate, because surprise surprise, Lupin is there..

Meanwhile, one of the guest of the party tries to seduce one of the daughters in a private room elsewhere, but his advances are cut short, and her older sister enters the room.

i have no fucking idea what she's doing to him on the right panel tbh

The older sister tells them to come downstair because something's happened, refering to Zenigata interrupting their party.

Lupin is here that is crazy

Dr. Ouki and his two daughters don't seem care that much, until Zenigata finds a tortured hanged corpse of Dr. Ouki's secretary. That's quite bad.

They assume that Lupin is behind all this, and Zeni tries to get Dr. Ouki to spit out the truth on something, or else more people will get hurt. And certainly, someone else is hurt!

The younger daughter, whom we learn that her name is Michi, comes out severely injured and faints on the ground.

I like how Lupin keeps appearing as a background character in almost every panel (clearly he's not doing any of this)

Zenigata checks her body, and tells them that she's luckily going to survive. Dr. Ouki gets extremely frustrated and yells at Zenigata at his incompetence, but this is technically his fault, as he hasn't told Zenigata of the complete truth that Lupin has sent a letter informing him of his heist.

The letter reads: "Dearest Ouki, kudos on the clever research, but your discovery has attracted the attention of an unsavory foreign element. I'm going to swing by tomorrow night and pick up a copy of the schematics, for safekeeping. Don't bother leaving a key, I'll let myself in."

While this is being discovered, the guest that had tried to seduce Michi now has his eyes on the older sister dude i don't know about you but i think he might be the culprit it's a really crazy assumption i know

The older sister clearly isn't stupid to let the guy do whatever he wants to her, and has the man at gunpoint and tells him to surrender to the police.

Unfortunately, the man throws a knife towards her hands and disarms her, leaving him the opportunity to shred through her body, but for what?!

Dr. Ouki meanwhile explains that he had destroyed the original schematics that Lupin is seeking. He then made an almost perfect replica of it as a microfilm and hid it inside his eldest daughter, which the man finds OH NO

Luckily, as the man finds it, one of the guest steps in and murders the man and picks up the microfilm.

Dr. Ouki and the others run towards the room, and it is revealed that obviously, the man was the culprit for all that has happened in the party all along. Dr. Ouki tells the guest to give him back the microfilm, but he doesn't give it back.

Detective Akechi comes out of nowhere and explains that guest that saved the older daughter is none other than Lupin III!

As Lupin is about to leave, Zenigata tries to stop him, but Lupin throws the microfilm towards a pigeon and it carries it towards his hideout.

Certainly a happy ending for Lupin, but will he be able to escape imprisonment? That you'll have to find out next time.

Lupin III Chapter 74 Review

he is going to run me over anyways the english scans got REAL SHITTY again so its back to japanese version again

so lupin and jigen are looking at four photos of specific criminals to target and kill, but it's so hard to just pick one! lupin decides to throw them up in the air and aim at one randomly with a knife, and he gets...!

L: Woooo! Shuzo Makube!! The Macbeth of Death! J: He's the biggest crime lord in Japan. Maybe we ought to pick again.

Meanwhile, someone outside their base is trying to kill them with a shotgun, and Jigen accidentally kills him when Lupin wanted him alive to see who hired him.

They quickly find them though, and they turn out to be a woman! She tries to get her dog to protect her but lupin sends his dalmatian to fight with it.

He threatens to crush the woman's hands if she doesn't tell him who she's working for, and she says that she doesn't know who hired her They then start??? making out???? the sheer amount of making outs I've been witnessing this week is far too many.

It's bad that the woman then gets stabbed in the chest by a sword and dies! Lupin looks out to see who the killer is, and it's... Goemon!?

Shortly after meeting up with Jigen, Goemon also enters the hideout and Lupin confronts him about what happened, saying how the blade that killed the woman looks exactly like his'

Goemon refuses this allegation and says that he still has his blade with him, but Lupin argues that he just switched the sword with a bamboo one to trick him.

He angrily leaves and also leaves behind a man he caught during the event. It turns out that that man was the real murderer, and Goemon was only chasing out up on the rooftop...

Then, Makube's men enter with the woman who is very very alive, saying that it was all just an act to fool him.

His men tie Lupin and Jigen up, and one of the henchmen tries to shoot Lupin with his own gun, but it's Lupin's gun, so it always has something up it's sleeve. (the gun shoots a while after he pulls the trigger and the henchmen ended up shooting himself)

Then, Makube decides to just kill them himself and pulls out a rifle. He aims both of them but then suddenly collapses, and Lupin and Jigen walks out exclaiming how Goemon saved them..?

Despite Lupin's act of distrust towards him, Goemon saves them in the end, throwing his sword right at the scope into Makube's eyes!

Lupin and Jigen then run to see Goemon, who is definitely not interested in waiting for them to catch up anytime soon...

The end.

Lupin III Chapter 68 Review

suddenly the english scans got better so ill be using them until further updates

the knife is just floating on his face..

ok, so this time the protagonist of this story isn't lupin... nor jigen... nor goemon... nor fujiko... nor zenigata... its US!!! THE READERS!! boy is this gonna be a lupin x reader type of thing

nah just kidding monkey punch would never do that All of us as a collective are now stuffed in this man's body, and we're running from... someone?

It turns out that we're running from lupin iii himself. We have found out his hideout and you see a policeman. Maybe with him, we can report what happened and get some cash money in return! Lupin is worth a million yen after all!

The policeman, unfortunately, thinks whatever we're saying is total bogus. We plead to him that we're saying the truth and that lupin is out to get you, and what happens?

The police reveals himself to be lupin.

We then throw a rock at his face, leaving him unconcious and us room to flee and call the ACTUAL POLICE this time to arrest him.

We run and find a telephone booth! But there's a woman inside! We shove her aside to call, but we suddenly get knocked unconcious...

Don't worry, we woke up soon enough, to a random house and the same woman looking at us with more evil intent this time... She was the one that knocked us out!!!

She explains that she was also calling for the same reason, and she didn't want us to get the reward... rude. But we were very quick to catch up that the woman could've called the phone all this time we were unconcious, so she was lying! We reach out to the phone but it is quickly destroyed by... him.

fuck we try to kill him, but he has us stuck in the house after we tried throwing knives at him, one of which almost got him...

interesting how we got a knack for throwing knives thats kinda cool

lupin keeps us in the house for quite a while, along that period of time we discovered that the woman was simply working for lupin the entire time... great. never trust anymore in this manga series.

he suddenly tells us that we can leave now, since the hideout we discovered was quickly destroyed by the lupin empire.. but now that we have him here, why not just turn lupin in now?

we then reveal that the knife we threw at the cardboard was all according to our plan!!! the knife had a note on it that reveals lupin's location, and now- the police is coming to arrest him.

lupin seemingly gives up, and asks us how long we were unconcious for after the woman knocked us out.

I don't know... an hour ago?

Lupin says its been three entire weeks??? what the fuck??? HE PUT US THROUGH ELECTIVE SURGERIES????

Lupin III Chapter 65 Review

OH MY GOD HES SUCH A FRIEND HES SO FRIENDSHAPED LOOK AT HIM GOHEEHEHEHEHE

ok so lupin's college adventures continue yet again im sure he has learned nothing in this school so far because.. well he's an idiot but he's also hosting a disco party in the school which isn't allowed!!!

so zenigata gets news of this happening and he's like yesss finally and he gathers up his camera crew together he proceeds to break in the party and take a picture of THE ENTIRE THING SO HE CAN EXPOSE LUPIN

lupins like uhhh no!!

so he tries to steal the camera but unfortunately zenigata has swapped the films already so the news of lupin being a lil troublemaker spread all over the front page of the school's newspaper

the good students clearly dont like him because hes ruining the school's reputation he doesnt really care

then at night he proceeds to get tied up and kidnapped to be beaten up by the judo club! fun they threaten him to drop out or get his ass kicked but somehow lupin beats them up like its nothing

why is he so STRONG in this series probably because college students are dumber than crime lords and samurais then he walks back to the school to see a guy plastering "EXPEL LUPIN" posters all over the school

he also fucks him up

this is the most accurate lupin school au ever

then, another professor comes up to him and tells him that he's gonna suggest his expulsion in the faculty meeting! then lupin explodes him

well thats basically what happened he pointed at some explosives thats about to catch on fire and the professor tries to put out the fire-

then he turns into this.

that definitely shutted him up in the faculty meeting lupin wont get expelled anytime soon! hooray!!!!

Lupin III Chapter 40 Review

hi tumblr it's me day 2 let's see how long i can go for once again never take any of this seriously this is just for fun ok thanks

this chapter starts out with a sussy looking man trying to escape out of prison!!! who the fuck is he????

from the left bottom panel over there we can see that he's been caught by the police, who then escorts him in a car with two other people who seem to know him

look at their faces thats very sus

then we switch to kid lupin in his mansion listening into the convo happening in the police's car it seems to be connected to the police's walkie talkie but suddenly! he is in shock and bolts out the house what did he hear in the walkie talkie?? and where is he going???

well well well the walkie talkie speaks of the various prison escapees... and one of them, the man whom we saw escaping earlier WAS NONE OTHER THAN LUPIN II, HIS FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate him so much anyways ahem ahem Lupin iii on the other hand runs out to a cemetery, which houses the gravestone of his father?? he is equally just as shocked to hear this chapter plot twist, his father whom he thought was dead was alive all along!?

apparently it was arsene lupin that told him that his father was dead, we never get told why he did it, but i wonder maybe because a lupin who fails at his job is no longer a lupin in his eyes, so since lupin ii was captured and thrown in jail, he is nothing but dead to him it can also possibly explain why lupin iii got put in so much rigorous training at such a young age and become conditioned to pass on arsene's legacy because his son couldnt but enough with overanalyzing the plot, let's move on

ANOTHER lady (i dont think its been the same one since this entire kid lupin series???) appears and says that she's known the truth for years now and i guess they just go back to the mansion ah yes ive learned that my father is actually alive lets not do anything about it nah jk hes probably trying to process everything poor kid

going back to lupin ii's side, the police turns out to be one of his allies and gets them out of prison along with handing them guns n shit then one of his friends just shoots the police??? and lupin ii is reasonably pissed like wtf you killed the dude that worked with us then the guy reasons that the guy is still a cop and they still shouldnt trust ok whatever fine lets go with that then

i cant bro is so angry apparently in this panel he says "HE WAS MY BEST CONTACT!" and im just wondering what he meant by that maybe its just tokyopop translation spouting bs again but it may just be something from the og manga im thinking maybe he was trying to monitor lupin iii? currently the plot isn't at the point where i can explain my idea though

now his next plan is to find lupin iii, whoom he claims is posing as a fake and his son was supposed to be dead???? shits getting wild

theres so much shit to absorb in just these panels

anyways lupin iii gets attacked by them prison men! lupin iii sees his dad and hes like you're not my dad prove it to me then lupin ii is like you're not my son!

then they like fight or something

lupin ii holds the woman earlier hostage and is about to rape her, then lupin iii says that they're surrounded by the police and hes about to get arrested anyway (this is so stupid) then lupin iii leaves thinking hell get arrested, and it turns out that the woman and lupin ii were just faking it and this was just a test for lupin iii

Panel 1: "You can put your clothes on." "Oh, are we done now?" Panel 2: "He's not ready to take over the family business." "Well, at least tell him the truth, you owe him that much." Panel 3: "Not yet." "Not until he proves his worth."

the lupin family is just like a traditional asian family you better start burning at least 90 houses until you're allowed to eat dinner again then lupin ii retreats and dresses up as a police officer, he tricks the detective guy (from the earlier chapter) into thinking that he has escaped into the mountains

then he hops on a motorcycle to escape, and oh? it seems like lupin iii already found out his plan and was camping in the sidecar to wait for him but unfortunately… his father rams him onto a tree.

great job lupin ii great treatment of your son you havent seen in years :thumbsup: but this is the end of the kid lupin chapters! we will be resuming back to the monkey man tomorrow. (nevermind i have something else planned for tomorrow no chapter 41 til thursday) lupin ii will never been seen in the lupin manga for a long long time…

also i like how this chapter singlehandedly explains why motorcycles with sidecars are no longer a thing anymore today.

Lupin III Chapter 80 Review

JUST READ THE BEST LUPIN CHAPTER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE BABY!!!!! ITS THE KYOSUKE MAMO CHAPTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lupin and Jigen are trying to research about this mysterious figure called Kyosuke Mamo, who in context seems to be a person after Lupin for some reason Piling themselves with books everywhere, Jigen finally finds a book with informations about him!

Kyosuke Mamo Born: February 30, 2854 Place of Birth: Unknown Father: Unknown Mother: Unknown Occupation: Science Fiction Writer Went insane while conducting research on the fourth dimension and now travels through the seas of time in his homemade time machine.

Then, lupin proceeds to pack his bags up and attempts to run away...!? He's going a bit insane so Jigen tries to calm him down and tries to make him think it over, but Lupin drives away anyway

But while getting away, he meets Mamo anyway, who tells him that his ancestors have killed his father, so he is going to wipe away all his ancestors by going to the past, then disappears!

So yeah Lupin's really shitting his pants now

He returns back to the gang, where Goemon explains why Lupin's is just that afraid of this Mamo guy

Goemon reveals that he's met Mamo before when he was just a kid, and tells him that he'll become Lupin's partner in the future and disappears, convincing the others now that Mamo is able to travel through time...

After that, Lupin suddenly picks up the girl (she was with them) and tries to have sex with her, fully believing that he'll die soon enough, and he wants to have one last moment of happiness- She accepts it, but suddenly she FUCKING DISAPPEARS..! It must've been done by Mamo..

Lupin confronts Mamo one last time, and decides to convince him to fight him instead of going out the coward's way. Mamo refuses, so Lupin asks him to go back to the future to get pictures of his sons...

Mamo accepts, and comes back with the pictures- huh?

It seems that he's travelled a bit too far back in time, and now ended up what seems to be the Kaei period. He asks the farmer about a man called Jirokichi, who claims that it's him! He's going to marry a french woman soon, who goes by the name of Milaine Lupin!

Mamo, deciding that he'll just kill Lupin descendants now, pulls out his gun but suddenly gets slain in an instant by.... Goemon!?

L: Go ahead, boys. Tell him what time it is.

Lupin, gathering enough info from Goemon that Mamo doesn't know what year he travels to, and that his ancestors were farm peasants, decides to trick him into thinking that he's travelled in the Kaei period and kills him when he least expects it!

Lupin III Chapter 88 Review

Its hard doing manga reviews

BECAUSE MAN, THE FIRST HALF OF THIS CHAPTER SUCKS. Finally gonna give a content warning for: torture, child murder, rape, and zenigata slander please read this review with discretions thank you

I'm just gonna get this over with

So in this chapter, "Lupin and Jigen" capture this guy from the special police task force and basically tortures him until he tells them his true identity.

Lupin's been told to do this from a mysterious shadowed man we never really knew the identity of but he basically tells Lupin that he's being too soft and he tells Lupin to bring the police's son and kill him in front of his dad. So he reluctantly does it, the child gets washed away in the sewer water and gets horribly electrocuted by a wire. yayy.....

So the police guy is very reasonably angry and goes on what is apparently a "blood rage" and smashes Lupin and Jigen with a chained mace i think? Then Lupin finally knocks him unconscious and leaves him there

Then a mysterious woman whos presumed to be working for that guy rescues him from the sewer

Soon after, the woman's fiance returns home and proposes to her and she accept, hm how sweet. Then of course, Lupin comes out of nowhere to ruin everything.

He rips the women out of her fiance's arms and suddenly kisses her and threatens to rape her if she doesn't spill out where the man she rescued and what his identity is ..

She tries to resist and the fiance tells her to just confess the truth to Lupin, which she doesn't and Lupin rapes her :(

I told you, really rough chapter... honestly i doubt anybody's reading this lol

Lupin then just leaves and the fiance gets really pissed at her for not resisting and just telling the truth??? Bro get mad at the rapist not the victim this dude is crazy. And then he leaves probably breakng off from her

The woman is distraught but is approached by the police man who probably found her after that incident. He tells her that he's the one she saved and to dress up and drive somewhere out.

Lupin and Jigen look in the distance and a tear rolls down Lupin's eyes, and he saids that this is the hardest job he took.

The shadowed man appears again saying that now the police man and woman will be hunting for Lupin to get revenge, then... the son of the police guy appears???seemingly unscathed????

THEN GUESS WHAT

IT WASNT LUPIN NOR JIGEN IN THIS CHAPTER. IT WAS ZENIGATA AND A RANDOM DUDE WHO DECIDED TO DO THOSE STUFF JUST TO BLAME LUPIN FOR ALL OF IT

THIS WAS JUST A PLAN THE ENTIRE TIME, A HORRIBLE PLAN!!!

i have no words to describe how much i hate this first part of the chapter, but luckily, its doesnt get worse from here.

Part 2!

Now we get the real Lupgang, who already know of Zenigata's plan and is hiding inside a wrecked ship. Zenigata is attempting to sneak up on them, but Jigen shoots a rock straight towards Zeni's head and the three split off elsewhere

yknow what he really deserves it this time

Lupin enters an empty cabin where he finds that the policeman he captured in there escaped! Him, along with the woman tries to kill Lupin but he successfully convinces them that they were tricked by Zenigata and none of their misfortunes were his fault.

Lupin then returns the kid to the policeman from a balloon, and they hugged,,, sniffles sniffles

Lupin's face looks consistently devious in this chapter idk why

Goemon and Jigen then return wearing policeman outfits but it appears that everything went smoothly so they take it off. wow.

AND THEN THEY GET CAUGHT BY ZENIGATA. He tells the two police task forces to capture Lupin, which they reluctantly obliged like wow ok thanks for being unhelpful

But, Lupin uses the balloon trick on them and leave them floating on the sky. I wonder if theyll get rescued later...

ALSO SEE LUPIN LOOKS SO DEVIOUS GOD I LOVE IT

aaanyways so he only has Zenigata and the shadowed man to deal with (who is now unshadowed and revealed to just be a random fat dude) and he decides to just lift up a giant anchor and hit them with that! Wow genius

Zeni tells him to drop the anchor (but ok you cant tell my babygirl what to do you're my least favorite character in this chapter already) He does it, and the anchor drops Zeni and fat guy down all the way into the ocean... i guess they also got balloon'd without knowing.

Lupin III Chapter 69 Review

....... ...................... ........................................nice.

this is the first chapter of the rat clan series!! my dumbass thought the rat clan was a shin lupin only thing because i didnt finish reading this manga.... the more you learn i guess

"The gang fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Acting seperately. Existing as one." "That's the key to Lupin's secret organization." "Now the Rats are here. The Rats look to build a puzzle of their own." "Different pieces... same prize." "Call or fold, Lupin. Call or fold."

The rat clan has taken Goemon and Jigen as hostage, and Lupin has to find a way to get them out of the clan's grasp... He catches one of the rat agents and hires a professor to force her to talk.

Lupin tries everything to get her to talk, but ends up resorting to the professor's hynotism technique. It works! Lupin puts up a disguise and goes near the rat clan's hideout (where jigen and goemon are held hostage) and as the agent said, there were a couple guards there that tried to kill him.

He returns back to his house, and reveals that when jigen and goemon were kidnapped, the only thing remaining was a note from the rat clan.

Clearly, the Straight Flush document holds great importance to both the clan and lupin, so he isn't going to give it up that easily. He then burns the note.

He goes to see the girl again (who's still held hostage) and confirms with the prof. that she's still under hypnosis. Lupin tries to ask more questions, but to no avail. He also tries to do gross stuff to her, and gets beaten up for it

We then switch to the perspective of the rat clan! There are three members shown. The big guy in the middle is the boss, and they enter the hideout. One of the member, Roku (right), asks the boss what they should do about Lupin, but he dismisses the question and goes to take a bath.

Roku gets super mad and rants behind the dude's back to the other guy (left) saying how he should be the job because hes just so handsome, wealthy, and so sexy (that's not what he says in the chapter but its basically what he said.) the other guys like dude chill

Then, the boss takes a shower and look which monkey decided to sneak in! Lupin tries to threaten the boss to release jig and goe but he's like no! and cuts the tub in half and tips lupin out of it.

He gets out of the shower, and talks to Roku saying that he knows that he isn't so fond of him, so they decide to duel and Roku just dies

Lupin returns to his house yet again and doOOUUHHHHHHHHHH

Let's not talk about it! Let's just pretend he got warmed up then the professor tells him that the rat clan boss called him yes lupin did not do anything to the girl

Ok- so the boss and lupin and now in a duel, just like how he did with roku. lupin however, put a knife instead of a gun.

ok side tangent i love how manga lupin uses the knife more than the gun when i was a kid i always had this fascination with knives idk they look so cool also they put the box over their weapon to have more challenge

they agree that if lupin wins, then he'll get jigen and goemon back, and if the rat boss wins, then lupin has to hand over the document.

and you wouldn't expect it, but lupin wins the duel by pushing the table theyre on for the knife to stab the boss in the CHEST! woohoo!!

Lupin III Chapter 85 Review

ok so, a small part of this chapter was hard for me to understand, and even after asking a couple of people, they also couldn't figure it out

so when that part comes in, my interpretation will marked in italics as something you should take with a grain of salt. thank you c:

Fun fact about the cover on the right, Lupin is dressing up as Isshuku Ippan, a character from one of Monkey Punch's other manga series!

let's get onto the chapter! so lupin's up to some kimono business again and he's facing off a random guy in the rain, he overpowers lupin and is about to kill him, but decides to spare him as he doesn't "kill in cold blood"

he tells lupin to leave, but he doesnt listen and follows him in a house anyway. then it reveals that the guy and the boss of the clan he's working for actually doesn't know that he's lupin, and refers to him as Isen Miharu.... interesting.

the boss gives the guy a card of a picture of a black serpent, which seems to be some sort of calling card from a thief that just robbed their entire belongings... the boss doesn't seem to be very sad about it weirdly.

he says that this thief, the black serpent, is slick and hard to catch, which reminds him of another thief we know very well... lupin!

while he explains a story about lupin he heard of a while ago, there seems to be different scene playing of these two people preparing for a rokyoku play*. it seems to me that they're the ones retelling the main story?

*a rokyoku play is a genre of traditional japanese narrative singing popular around the early 20th century. in the context of this chapter, the man on the table is the one retelling the story, while the person with the shamisen plays music for the story

lupin had an incident where he was tricked into having sex with a woman who acted like she wanted to sleep with him, but he gets handcuffed instead and gets found by zenigata

luckily, he escapes, but he couldn't get his handcuffs off.... it seems to be made out of a material he cant break out of.

meanwhile, the rokyoku men get into a tiny accident, where the one playing the shamisen crashes into a wall while trying to act out the scene happening in the main story

hm... so lupin hands are cuffed, and he can't seem to get it out.... during this entire chapter, the dude has never seen this "isen" show his hands before, so he starts getting a little suspicious!

he throws a sake bottle at lupin who smashes it back with a fake hand, and the two get in a battle again

it's obviously a fake hand btw, the way it's positioned is very unnatural

the guy throws a knife towards lupin's fake hands and disarms it, and lupin finally resorts to having to use his cuffed hands to do the job. lupin pulls out a gun, and exposes the guy as the real black serpent behind the robbery wow what a shocker

he admits to it, and explains that he became a thief to take revenge on the man that killed his father when he was a teen, who was ultimately the boss of the clan he was uncover for!

the boss ends up getting killed, and the black serpent tells lupin to leave him alone, which he finally does.

and the curtain falls, ending the play.

Lupin III Chapter 81 Review

sorry i got pretty busy those last two days for some reason this chapter got hyped up like crazy by some people, and ngl it is pretty good!

Also i gotta say, cross of visions is a baller title i love it

Ok so this chapter starts with a unknown woman paying lupin to assassinate his friends, jigen and goemon, but he obviously declines no matter how much money she offers Then, she offers her body to him and he immediately accepts it??? bro has horrible standards

So he kills them and bury them in graves that hold up a cross on each of them, with the crosses then having jigen's hat hanging on it and goemon's ryuusei resting near it respectively.

It then reveals that lupin was only experiencing a form of hynotism and he snaps back to reality and freaks out thinking he actually killed jigen and goemon

A woman then appears and explains that the hallucination is due to the cross, which she calls the cross of visions (roll credits, everyone.) The cross of visions shows the person who sees it visions that are antithethical to themselves- making them do things that are the opposite of their beliefs, which explains why lupin imagined himself killing his friends.

the woman then gives another example and throws a bra towards the cross, and lupin then imagines himself in a body of water, and then two naked woman rising out of it

terrified, he tries running away from them and washes into a shore... or is it a shore? ITS THE FUCKING STATUE OF LIBERTY

siince bro is now terrified of women, he drives a sword through her neck (dont ask where that sword came from it just happens to be there) and he snaps back into reality, realizing that he uh stabbed a random woman in his hallucinations

the other lady laughs, saying that she tricked him into killing that woman for free, since the dead woman was her husband's mistress... talk about jealousy.... lupin then realizes that the woman had been dead long ago, so there was no way lupin could've killed her. it was the lady! she killed her so she can blame it on him!

"That's right. But I wonder which one of us the police will believe. An innocent lady, or the wanted criminal Lupin?" L: "And my fingerprints are on the sword..."

She then points to a random policeman arriving towards them, which turns out to be Zenigata...! Talk about bad timing... but lupin has a plan!! While they were having their exchange, Lupin adjusted his position for him to sit on the cross, pants down, and lulls the woman into a vision where she's having the funny funny with him..

b-but!! uhm!! she wakes up and uhhhh it's actually zenigata she was laying on..!! and lupin ran away long ago oh god oh fuck this is EMBARASSING DAMN

Lupin III Chapter 87 Review

Ok so even though fujiko and lupin were trapped on the air balloon way above the stratosphere last chapter that doesnt matter i guess because they just somehow came back on land in this chapter its ok its lupin continuity it doesnt matter that much

So now Zenigata appears finally! Can't have the last arc not have him

He's hired by the president to protect him from Lupin, and he then gets a distress call faked by the Lupgang to lure him in. Apparently Lupin wants to use him to infiltrate the president's organization to take him down for good

He's pissed off that Lupin intends to disguise as him and have himself disappear while Lupin does his thing, so he obviously refuses and taunts Lupin instead, causing a fight to happen!!

And to my surprise, Zenigata actually defeats both Goemon and Jigen with sheer wits! He really shines when given the chance to

Goemon and Jigen both get cuffed ontop of a tree branch, so Lupin has to now fight Zenigata on his own... He puts a silly little rule to this duel between him and Zenigata, where he is the one that determines the position of where Zenigata stands because he's the one with the knife? Ok, sure i guess, this is totally not a ploy! Hahaha!

It is totally a ploy.

Lupin tells Zenigata to move all over the place, and gets real nitpicky about the position, to the point where Zenigata gets pissed at his assholery

Z: Enough, god damn it! You're driving me nuts!! L: I've got the knife! I name the conditions. Now, back to the left!!! Z: WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?!!! L: SHUT UP AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!! Z: TELL ME WHERE TO STAND!!! L: YOU'RE GOOD.

Ok, so Zeni's now in the correct position Lupin's ordered him in, what's next?

Oh, just a rock on the head.

Now, for the second part of this chapter. Lupin, now disguised as Zenigata, enters the mansion of the president and hears the orders from him.

He has found the secret of the island... and of the Lupin Clan. There is a tomb that stores all the fortune of the clan, and he wants "Zenigata" to examine and find the opening of it.

Meanwhile, the real Zenigata is being held captive in one of Lupin's hideout, with Goemon and Jigen watching over it. We get some more silly interactions with Goemon and Zenigata- man i wish we get more of this from zeni

Jigen gets absolutely sidelined as per usual, poor guy

Anyways so fake Zenigata examines the grave and comes back to report his findings to the president. He tells him to open the grave, but he tries to persuade the president against it and just let it go, which he doesn't.

After a couple searching around, Lupin finally finds the president's location, where he seems to be having some business with Fujiko (i assume that's her?)

Lupin reveals his real identity as well as being a bit of a creep around them. The president continues to assert his legitimacy as the president of the island, but Lupin decides to finally finish him off with a shot to the head.

Lupin leaves the mansion, to see that the real Zenigata has escape the jail and arrests Lupin with his police force!

...Did he arrest the right Lupin though? Turns out, the shot to the president's head wasn't infact a gun shot, but a syringe shot that shoots a serum tricking the president into thinking he's Lupin!!!

The Zenigata that left the mansion was actually the president, and the real Lupin is still inside, probably reveling at his genius plan...

With the president thinking he's Lupin, the secret of the grave will be kept a secret, but what about the woman..?

"Nevertheless, there is another person that knows the secret... Yes! It's the secretary! For what I did with her..." S: Take off your clothes at once! Don't even think of running away from me!! S: Not from this Lupin, hehe...

Um... the end!

Lupin III Chapter 71 Review

lupin omori moment

this was a fun chapter!! i liked it despite the confusing format

it's a stormy night, and we see a mysterious person wearing a kimono and holding an umbrella wandering through the empty streets

then, we jump to lupin hanging out with what seems to be an old friend in his house. his name is Kido, and he is a professional assassin

they just seem to be messing with each other and catching up from all the past years they didnt talk to each other and such.

then the story switches back to the kimono man, who almost gets run over by a car but quickly dodges it, and detonates it with dynamite

once again, it switches back to lupin and kido, and lupin challenges him to do this one trick he had to see if lupin this time can figure it out he doesn't, it seems to be a trick that redirects lupin's attack to another place, and it prevents anything from hitting kido. interesting!

aaand then we go back to the kimono man he continues to wander and we see someone ontop of a tree trying to attack him with a long spear

we don't know what happens next, as lupin and kido's reunion is interrupted by a fujiko, who informs kido that he shouldn't be drinking as he has an important job tonight then he leaves, and gets confronted by jigen who tries to kill him because kido killed??? his brother??? three years ago????? thank you monkey punch very cool

jigen's attempt fails however, as he gets completely duped by kido's tricks

then, we switch back to kimono man blocking the attack above with his umbrella, and spears the assassin with his own sword, that was attached to his umbrella! new cool weapon idea

then were back to kido, who realizes something and rushes to call back fujiko and tell her to be careful of lupin, but he is too late as she is now having sex... with lupin.

jigen stops lupin at least! he rushes in the room and informs lupin that fujiko is in the rat clan, and passes out

after all that, its revealed that the man in the kimono is actually lupin in the present time, and all the things that happened with kido were, perhaps, days ago.

lupin and kido meet again, and its revealed that his important job was infact to kill lupin. wielding the umbrella, lupin takes on his old friend, and says that he has finally figured out his trick, which was hypnosis! he drops the umbrella down the ground and reveals a gun, but kido has already put lupin under hypnosis...

lupin prepares to shoot kido, but snaps back to reality to see his hands aiming the gun at himself, damn! with much effort, he pulls it back and reveals another plan up his sleeve: the umbrella he set down was prepared to shoot its sword at kido in three seconds!!! after all, even if you have hypnosis abilities, how would you hypnotize an object?

the umbrella shoots kido in the chest, and lupin walks away.

Lupin III Chapter 79 Review

ITS THE POON EPISODE!! FROM PART 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also the english title of this chapter is "Love Doctor" and i cant stop hearing the love doctor song from root five in my head help

So a woman is being held hostage by a group of 2 men, and Lupin and his gang are trying to make their way into the house that they hid in.

Jigen tries to rush towards the house, but he is met with a bombardment of bullets, explaining why Lupin seemingly hasn't made any moves yet..

The woman that's been captured was a spy that was gathering intel about lupin's organization, but when she was captured by the men, she caught a life threatening illness that needs immediate treatment....

Thus, lupin decides to tell them the situation about her through a radio attached to a bamboo he launches towards the house

The boss, which I'll just call Poon for convenience, doesn't trust Lupin and doesn't release the woman to be treated. But why would Lupin care about this woman that seemingly betrayed him...? Well, it's because he fell in love with her, and he doesnt want to let her go dying like that...

Poon throws the radio towards the dying woman, then Lupin and her proceed to make some cheesy love exchange that Poon finds disgusting

W: You were a fool... to fall in love with me... Lupin...!! L: I was a fool to let you go.

tbh, i'd be a bit annoyed too if my spy suddenly got sick and its being prolonged for hours because the guy wouldn't shut up about loving her then, goemon approaches lupin carrying a doctor's bag, and informs him that no doctor is available and they need to perform the surgery for her

Lupin then relays to Poon that he needs to perform the surgery for her to live, and if Poon tries to move her, then she'll die. Poon however, REALLY doesn't trust Lupin and doesn't allow him to come any nearer to the house, so Lupin, with no choice, decides that he'll let Poon do the surgery for him.

Lupin fires all the supplies inside the bamboo towards them, one by one, until he finds a chance to fire the bamboo in a way that would kill the man that was holding them back from approaching the house in the first place

Lupin then sneaks in the house immediately and picks up the girl to leave. When Poon tries to shoot him, the woman shoots him back, revealing that she has chosen to be with Lupin in the end.

P: Ah, you fell in love... with him too..!!

Lupin III Chapter 43 Review

GRAAAAHHHHHH ITS CHAPTER 43 TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

goemon is in the cover again this means its big deal boys

in this chapter im assuming goemon is out to get revenge for all the scrolls lupin stole he gets hired by his superiors to kill him but he constant gets outsmarted by lupin

the first time is goemon trying to kill lupin while he is trying to have sex with a random woman

he gets smacked by a wooden plank while lupin complains about him, saying how hes taking a day off and he doesnt need goemon in his way ok but what lupin be doing having sex outside though lupin and the woman leaves and afterward goemon meets with his superiors

theyre very disappointed with him! saying how he needs to focus more and be more cold blooded they show an example in fact one of them picks up a bird from a cage and rips off one of its wings, showing how goemon needs to become heartless and a true killer…

im not gonna show the panels in particular because it makes me whince everytime i look at it goemon is also shocked to see him do such a thing, but he listens believing that he can kill lupin by training to be cold blooded feels bad

it's the second trial boys, maybe this time goemon can do it this time he enters DIRECTLY INTO LUPIN'S MANSION HOW DID HE FIND IT of course this time lupin is still having sex with the woman i would commend him for being courteous and doing it indoors but goemon is right in front him... poor guy.

L: Goemon! I told you! I'm taking the day off! L: If you absolutely insist, I'll kill you tomorrow! G: Now, damn it! Kill me now! Or return the Jitoryu scrolls!

lupin ignores him and continues with his business and goemon slices through the couch that they were on

im assuming from the sequences of events that he took the girl and leads both of them to fight outside of some random wilderness again

something funny that i wanted to mention is how lupin called goemon a teenanger because he comes at the worst times in the manga i guess you can hc goemon as a teenager or probably the youngest out of the cast, hes usually the less cruel one and he's typically the most 'innocent' one if i'm putting that right

anyways, lupin unarmed, pretends to be trapped and cornered by goemon and calls for help, but in fact...

L: Somebody please shoot this man! Why don't I have a gun? W: Because you gave it to me, silly!

...and Goemon's attempt fails i like how each attempt is slowly getting sillier everytime you'll get why it gets like that later goemon, once again, returns back to his superiors.

them, even more disappointed now, starts to ridicule the man for being too nice and warm blooded my boy does NOT deserve this hes too sweet for his own good leave him alone…

ok THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM, RIGHT!? this time goemon and lupin meet up on a cliff of some random coast with a boat goemon demands lupin to fight him and he sounds super super angry..

i think this is an attempt to sound threatening lupin pulls out the scrolls and he decides to put it in the deck of the boat to convince goemon to not fight him goemon opens the deck of the boat and he sinks as it was just a silly little trick, and lupin and the woman run off with the scroll still in their hands

...Goemon's third attempt fails. how long is this going to go.

S: You are not a talker… a thinker… you are a KILLER! S: The secret iron-cutting technique… use it! Destroy Lupin! and so he does!

goemon approaches lupin this time on a highway while lupin is driving his car, and SLICES IT IN HALF lupin is so fucking done with goemon's shit this time good lordy

ok but how is the car still running but anyways lupin runs over goemon, and he fails for the 4th time...

as he returns to his surperiors he announces that he's now sick and tired of listening to his superiors and he's going to leave!! what is he gonna do next though??

surprisingly hes taken quite a liking to lupin through the time, and decides this time to follow him instead!!!!!!

woohoo!! goemon joins the gang finally!!! AND IT ONLY TOOK 43 CHAPTERS

Ok so ahem ahem final chapter wow! It's actually pretty weird to realize I've finally finished the first manga... I'm pretty proud of myself, considering how horrible it felt trying to read it the first time.

After painstakingly doing a review of almost every chapter, I have a newfound appreciation for this series... it's not the best.. but it has some nice moments that I appreciate. It also makes shin lupin iii look even cooler bc you know the precontext of their actions in that series from the first series.

So obviously, I have 38 chapters missing since I actually started this review on tumblr on chapter 39, I'll be inconsistently pushing them out in a later time.

Since the review started on discord... sorry if the quality of the review from those chapters look like trash and I act insane lmao, I'll try to fix any error I've might done later

For New Adventures, wait 2 years for that LMAO joking joking I don't know when I'll get to them, but it will happen for sure.

Reviews for Shin Lupin though? I'll wait until the fantranslation finishes.
