As a card maker I find that making condolence cards are the hardest, yet they are some of the most important ones that we can ever make and give. Working on an extra special project this week and I am LOVING my new glass media mat from @tonicstudios I have a relatively small selection of colours in my alcohol markers stash and sometimes I find it difficult to find a 'middle' colour when blending. But after watching #timholtz demonstrating the mat on YouTube I tried scribbling the darker colour straight onto the glass, and then picking some up with the lighter marker to get a shade that could blend. It was AMAZING! I still have a long way to go with my colouring skills but I'm really happy with how these turned out! Handmade gift tags can really up your wrapping game! 🎄🎁 This year I decided to make a bunch of tags in lots of different styles, using a range of techniques & products, then I added them to simple brown parcel paper tied up with string. [🎵 These are a few of my favourite things 🎵] I'll definitely be making more of these in the future; in fact, I plan to make some birthday ones to list on my Etsy! Unfortunately, this year we've had some tough reminders that sympathy cards could be needed anytime. They can be so difficult to make but they really do mean an awful lot 💗 I used a @sizzix die called Pretty Wreath to cut from some @neenahpaper solar white and coloured each in with my alcohol markers (some @copicmarker_europe and some @winsorandnewton ) I added some score lines into the background to give it some subtle interest and added a sentiment in @wowembossing Opaque Bright White. Day 17 of #thedailymarker30day challenge and I've been experimenting with #distressoxideinks a stencil & @heroarts Unicorn white pigment ink. I love how you can get so many different shades just by using coloured paper, one ink and the white pigment ink. Just make sure each layer is completely dry before you add the next, and adding a slight shift to your stencil offers even more colour differences. I coloured this sweet critter stamp from @averyellestamps in pencil crayon a few days ago and I thought it would make a gorgeous background for a full panel shaker card. I added a stamped balloon which I coated in 3 layers of clear embossing powder to give it a shiny & slightly domed look. Continuing #thedailymarker30day challenge and I am loving how relaxing it can be to colour just for the sheer pleasure it brings. I went a little out of my comfort zone with this one; clean, simple & predominantly white, which isn't my style at all but I'm happy with how this turned out and I'm glad that I pushed myself.
