Today we created zoetrope reels as the first step for our animation project. As the theme was Journey I decided upon the image of a leaf descending to the forest floor. This is achieved using hand drawn images on a slip of paper, which when spun on the zoetrope created a moving image.

At first the image was indistinct, however I found the issue to be with using pencil. Once I had used a fineliner to refine my design, the image appeared in full. Another small issue I faced was trying to create a looptheloop with the leaf. I feel this could have been solved by committing more frames to the matter.

Of my three ideas I decided on the falling leaf's journey. Truly this only shows a fraction of a leaf's life, but it is 'the final journey', if you will.
