I did not intend to end this comic on a cliffhanger like this on the same day that Owl House and Amphibia had pretty large cliffhangers as well. Purely coincidence.

The Galapagos Islands - A List of the hawaiian islands in addition to their Features

Here there is also a list of the key Tours a Islas Galapagos plus some general info on the scale and kinds of species found on each.

1.Baltra (South Seymour) Island - Also referred to as South Seymour, Baltra is often a small flat island at the core of the Galpagos. Baltra Airport is among two airports. Private planes fly to Baltra, as it is the one airport with facilities for planes overnight. A little bay accommodates the boats awaiting passengers for your cruises in the Galapagos.

2. Bartolome (Bartholomew) Island - A volcanic islet near the east coast of Santiago Island. Among the "younger" islands. Maui is one of the few that's the place to find the Galapagos penguin, the only real wild penguin species to call home on the equator. The pin turtle also resides on the island.

3. Darwin (Culpepper) Island - Named after Charles Darwin. It has an area of 1.1 square kms. Fur seals, frigates, marine iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls, sea lions, whales, marine turtles, and red-footed and Nazca boobies can be seen here.

4. Espanola (Hood) Island - Named in honor of Spain plus referred to as Hood, after Viscount Samuel Hood. It's 60 square kms and the oldest and a lot southern the hawaiian islands (approx 3.5 million years). Due to the remote location, the island has a many a unique species of lava lizard, mockingbirds and tortoise.

The marine iguanas exhibit a unique red coloration change through the breeding season. It's the only place where the waved albatross nests. The hawaiian islands steep cliffs certainly are a perfect spot for birds to consider off for their ocean feeding grounds. Espanola has two visitor sites. Gardner Bay for swimming and snorkeling, supplies a great beach. Punta Suarez has migrant, resident, and endemic wildlife.

5. Ferandina (Narborough) Island - Named in honor of King Ferdinand 11 of Aragon, who sponsored the voyage of Columbus. An area of 642 square kms The youngest and westernmost island. Countless marine iguanas gather, mainly on black lava rocks. The famous flightless cormorants inhabit this island, similar to Galapagos penguins, pelicans, Galapagos sea lions, and Galapagos fur seals. Here you will see lava flows and mangrove forests.

6. Floreana (Charles or Santa Maria) Island - Named after Juan Jose Flores, the initial President of Ecuador. We have an part of 173 square kms. The primary to get inhabited. Flamingos and green sea turtles nest on the island. The Galapagos petrel, a lot bird, is located here. At Post Office Bay, whalers kept a wood barrel that acted like a tn post office for mail. Maui hosts frigate birds, sea lions, giant tortoises, blue- and red-footed boobies, tropicbirds, marine iguanas, dolphins, and swallow tailed gulls. The islands gets the largest freshwater lake inside the archipelago, Laguna El Junco. The island has got the second airport in the islands and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno around the island is the capital of the province of Galapagos.

15. Santa Cruz (Indefatigable) Island - Named for your Holy Cross in Spanish, its English name arises from the British vessel HMS Indefatigable. Likely to area of 986 square kms. Santa Cruz has the largest population. The Charles Darwin Research Station as well as the headquarters from the Galapagos Park Service can be found here. The Highlands are famous for the lava tunnels. Large tortoise populations are simply here. Black Turtle Cove is surrounded by mangroves, with sea turtles, rays and small sharks.

19. Daphne Major - A small island directly north of Santa Cruz and west of Baltra, this very inaccessible island appears, though unnamed, on Ambrose Cowley's 1684 chart. It is necessary because location of multidecade finch population studies.

20. SouthPlaza Island(Plaza Sur) - Named honoring former president, General Leonidas Plaza of Ecuador.. It has an division of 0.13 square kms. The flora of South Plaza includes Opuntia cactus and Sesuvium plants, which form a reddish carpet on top of the lava formations. Iguanas are abundant, and big variety of birds can be observed in the cliffs.

Character Inspirations: Lady Sybil Afton Branson

So trying to get back on track, rather than being known as the guy that almost got embroiled in the Henry V. Matthew debate. I decided to do a post series of the inspirations that goes into the writing of the characters for my Story Series which takes place between (1936 - 1940) and deals with Sybbie, Marigold, but mostly George and his quest to restore Matthew and Sybil to life through an ancient Artifact lost during the Crusades. 

So without further ado ...

Lady Sybil “Sybbie” Afton Branson

“Lord Flintshire made a B-line for the figure that stood behind the retaining wall of the tower ruins, looking over the field with binoculars. When the boys were underground they heard the Scottish soldier say something about “The Lady of Shallot” and a “Princess” who was hard to miss. They had seen enough war movies to know that sometimes soldiers and sailors called items of great importance after women. Deep down, they figured that he was referring to the Howitzer cannon. But they found that the man wasn’t selling a bill of metaphor. At the edge of the battlements, in personal command of the cannon, was an actual young woman.    

She had long raven tresses that were up in a messy bun, loose glossy black curls hung on either side of her temples. Her skin was creamy porcelain, fine like a doll, but the soot of battle contradicted her delicate appearance. She wore tough and tight trousers tucked into knee high boots. Her lithe frame was covered by an aviatrix leather bomber jacket with a wool lined collar. On her perfect hips was buckled a weapons belt with a large pistol that was strapped to her thigh. Her svelte and sleek frame had a lady like grace to the way she stood and carried herself. One might have thought that type of training and upbringing would be hidden amongst a volunteer force of young male soldiers. But she didn’t seem to care what they thought of the upper-class, Grand Lady, among them. It was who she was, what her mama and granny taught her to be, as it was the genetics from her real mother that informed her daughter’s uncaring of who was “appropriate” on the field of battle. She was a beautiful young woman, she was of class, and she liked being these things. Without words, with just one look of her confident and commanding presence, it said all she had too of not changing in order to impress or hide from others who she really was. One might have thought that the men of the rag-tag expedition would chastise …

But all it did was make them fall in love with Lady Sybil Afton Branson ever more.”

Inspirations 

When I came up with the concepts of what I wanted out of Sybbie in the series I had several ideas. The first was that she was going to be George’s partner. And since George was imagined as a Pulp adventure hero akin to Indiana Jones, Tin Tin, and Joe Sulivan “Sky Captain” I only thought that Sybbie would be molded into a sort of Adventure Heroine that sticks by George’s side. 

I also had the idea that, instead of Sybbie following in Sybil’s footsteps as a Nurse or Doctor, that she’d follow Tom’s vocation as a mechanic. And since George was one of the best pilots in the world, I decided to make Sybbie his mechanic, an engineering genius ahead of her time. So I was really inspired by Asami Sato from Avatar: Legend of Korra. Not only by her look, but by her mechanical engineering savvy.

The last inspiration was the fact that Sybbie has a dark, dark, past. She did a lot of bad things in the eight years that George was in America. She was also sexually abused by Mary’s fiance and helped him peddle Nazi influence into the Aristocracy, being sold as a very high end prostitute before George came back home and chased Mary’s Fiance away. So with that I always saw Sybbie as a heroine of a Gothic Romance novel, both in her look, dress, and vulnerability mingled with strength. She also has a lot of issues and tendencies to put herself in bad situations so that George can rescue her ... she kinda gets off on being rescued by George, which troubles people in their family, feeling the sense of something not right between the two, especially as they get older. 

Anyway, all I got ... if you don’t read the story series, probably won’t mean much. But if you do, just something a little extra.

 Description: “The story of a bustling and glamorous five-star hotel at the center of London society and the world at war”

But this series is so much more than that:

Firstly: POC and LGBT Representation

It has an interracial (Indian and White) same-sex male couple: Toby Hamilton, the second son of the late Lord Hamilton who owned The Halcyon hotel which is now owned by his brother, and Adil Joshi, the Indian bartender/cocktail maker at the hotel to which experiences a racial slur thrown at him in one scene. (Spoiler alert) Both survive at the end of Season 1. Honestly, this couple was so beautifully written and groundbreaking for a period drama and their story still had much to be told. As a couple, they were treated as fairly as the straight couples in terms of screen time and that is rare within shows. Not to mention that due to the time period, the couple has to keep their relationship a secret, addressing the homophobia of the time. Unlike Downton Abbey which had Thomas Barrow treated less well (I love him though), these two are not. Toby has constant pressure from his mother to find a girlfriend and was more or less bullied by his father for not being good enough - so Toby’s realisation of what he wants and who he wants to be with is very beautiful. I don’t want to give away too much about Adil’s history but it is something that is mentioned briefly but is interesting as it concerns immigration (very applicable to today)

It had another interracial couple (a black man and white woman), Betsey Day, a cabaret singer at the hotel who is constantly degraded and judged by the conservative society because she “sleeps around” but never lets that get her down; she is in a band with Sonny Sulivan, a black male pianist who I think (it isn’t clear, but his accent suggests it) may have emigrated from the West Indies. He is the possibly the sweetest character who does something (not going to say what it is) for Betsey but doesn’t let her know it was him and doesn't expect anything in return. Sonny and Betsey also keep their relationship secret, not because it was against the law but because of the judgment from society. (Spoilers) In one episode, they are found out by a man who wants to sleep with Betsey and the man is very racist towards Sonny. Sonny is a selfless character who is honestly the sweetest guy on tv ever not to mention Betsey and Sonny have amazing banter together. Their relationship too was beautiful but it is unclear whether both survived. Another reason why we need a season 2.

Not to mention it has many background POC (here are a few examples):

Secondly: The dealing with Social Issues

Sexism - As I said, Betsey is called a “whore” on many occasions and this “reputation” she seems to have is something that Sonny is shown not to care at all about. It also has one episode in which one of the male guests tries to force himself on one of the chambermaids, Kate and when she scratches him to get away, he hits her. Since the man is a wealthy and powerful man, his assistant tries pay her to keep her quiet. One of the young men working at the hotel called Billy confronts the man, the man says that she wanted it to which Billy says no she didn’t and what he did was wrong.

Homophobia - The obvious is that homosexuality between two men was illegal and so Toby and Adil can’t be open about their relationship. The villain in the show (who I am not going to spoil) finds about their relationship and blackmails both Toby and Adil and calls Adil Toby’s "disgusting little boyfriend”.

Racism - Both Adil and Sonny are main characters and are both called racist slurs. In the case of Sonny, he was confronted by a group of white men and called an “ape in a suit” and other things to this extent. None of the other main characters that know about this incident support this racism.

Anti-Semitism and Xenophobia - There is an Austrian-Jewish refugee who works in the kitchen who experience extreme bullying and xenophobia from the Head Chef because he believes that him being Austrian means that he is German. The Head Chef gets fired for this. The refugee storyline is prevalent to today. Another example is the late Lord Hamilton’s mistress Charity Lambert was a Nazi sympathizer, anti-Semitic and wanted to try and sway Britain to join Germany.

Thirdly, the female characters are great:

The series has both young and older female characters

Emma and Betsey's’ female friendship is amazing

This villainous woman, Lady Hamilton, who is complex and both love and hate

Fourthly, Matt Ryan playing an American man:

No need to explain

Lastly, it’s beautiful and well written, good ass show but the finale of season 1 left so many unanswered questions and we need more. I could go on and on about the many reasons but please sign this petition and watch the show (if you want). It would be much appreciated.

This is a really cool and interesting list shared by Sulivan B. On the Confess you Rox page. There are many songs I've heard before. There are a few I have not heard, neither have I read about before. And literally, I've missed out the best ones which Gyllene Tider covered. "A hard day's night" by The Beatles!!! "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone" by Bill Withers!!! I mean I can't even imagine this song in Per's voice. "Johnny B. Good" by Chuck Berry!!! That would be amazing, with GTs high energy musicians. "My sweet Lord" by George Harrison. Per Gessle on leads is very imaginable, and with Brainpool, but it's still nice to know they covered this song together. These Gyllene Tider & The Husbands - are these the ones in the "Party!" Album or are they different? I guess they're different, because in my knowledge, they're really very old recordings - pre-Roxette recordings i.e. Interesting list, isn't it? Nice list you have complied here Sulivan. Can't get enough of Your blessings, Lord. I wasn't able to see the invite and everything was a surprise. When we were asked to line up, I was really wondering why are we on queue. When the awardees were called for their participation in pop dance, I was really unsure and even asked Iki "Nagjoin ka ba ng pop dance?" She was just smiling. 🤗 When her name was called "Cordero, Marika Chilean B....Little Anne Sulivan Award"... I was really amazed. I was holding my tears while on stage. And there is no place for too much happiness. Imagine, Marika unconditionally helping and assisting other kids with special needs and have shown selflessness and patience...Truly, what a great sight! Such a spectacle! And we thank You, Lord, for this! We were the happiest parents at that time and until now, our smiles are fixed in our faces and gratefulness rules in our hearts.
