first impression

ok my first impression was already skewed because i had been told "he was just like spock" and him and wei wuxian "are just like geralt and jaskier in many ways when i think about it..." so i already had my eye on him. but i thought he was insanely beautiful and also kind of mean but with a hidden depth and i loved it

impression now

genuinely one of my fav characters of all time because he IS like spock and he IS like geralt in many ways. i think he feels very deeply and he has a pretty solid moral compass that pulls him between his family and his soulmate. there is so much i could say about how tragic he is but it would be spoilers... but my point is he feels deeply but comes off as repressed to the vast majority of people and i think thats sooo fun

well. it has to be with wei wuxian lol they are fucking soulmates. enemies to lovers. highschool sweethearts. theyve got it all. no but seriously lan wangji loves him soooo much he would destroy himself a million times over if it meant wei wuxian's happiness and prosperity

but i also love his relationship w lan xichen... lan xichen is one of the only people who can read lwj at all and they deeply love one another and lan xichen feels so responsible for him because they are orphans

but also LMFAO him and jiang cheng are so funny they spent like 6 months together trying to find wei wuxian and did not once bond over their shared love of wei wuxian. How is that even possible

favourite headcanon

i love to make him and jiang cheng to have tragic fucked up proxy sex while wei wuxian is dead despite that fact that they hate each other. Like i think they start angry fucking while arguing about wwx and jiang cheng's "hatred" of him and then it devolves into this weird soft thing where they both cry but dont talk about it. And then wei wuxian comes back from the dead and its sooo awkward. how do you tell your soulmate that you fucked his sort-of-brother
