it was no secret that lucas and mortiz were best friends. everyone knew it, and you knew that when you first dating lucas. you weren't just dating lucas, you were dating mortiz too.

you also knew that before he lived with you, he lived with mo. but after you came along, they decided they needed some space from each other so you and lucas moved into the apartment and mortiz found a new place.

after adopting many different animals, the apartment that mortiz and lucas had previously lived in was getting to be a little too small, so you decided to upgrade a little. so, you packed up all your animals and all your hockey equipment and moved 10 minutes away from the old apartment.

mortiz, of course, helped move all your new stuff in and even helped build some of your furniture. after he left, you and lucas were alone again. you decided to get a start on unpacking and started in the office because it seemed the least chaotic.

"lucas raymond, what the hell is this?!" you shouted, gaping at what was in front of you.

lucas ran into the room, panicked, his head on a swivel, as he tried to assess what was going on, "what? what is it?" his eyes finally landed on the gigantic framed picture sitting in front of you, "oh..."

"i know you and mo are in love, but i didn't think you'd ever do this." you laughed, taking a step back to marvel at the big blown-up framed picture of mo and lucas.

"look, mo gave it to me as a joke for christmas like two years ago. i didn't have the heart to get rid of it."

"yeah, i get it. it's hard getting rid of gifts from a boyfriend." you joked, laughing at the look on his face, "i'm kidding. i love you, but this picture is never leaving this room." you told him.

"yeah, i know." he sighed.

after you stopped laughing, you managed to grab your phone and facetime mo, "what? miss me already?"

you flipped the camera over to show him the picture lucas had been keeping from you, "you didn't throw it out?" mo laughed.

"that's what i asked." you nodded in agreement.

"it's rude to throw out gifts." lucas defended himself.

"come on, i got you that as a joke. you don't even have pictures of you and y/n that big, and you're actually in love and dating." mo pointed out.

"he's right." you nodded in agreement.

"butt out." lucas glared jokingly at you, "i'm not getting rid of it. i'm actually going to hang it up so people can see how much i love you." he joked.

"uh-huh, sure." mo rolled his eyes, "see you tomorrow?"

"tomorrow." lucas nodded, turning to you when he hung up, a smile on his face.

"no." you shook your head, walking out of the room.

"what? i didn't even say anything." he followed after you like a dog.

"no, we are not hanging this picture up anywhere else but in there." you deadpanned. he crossed his arms, "we already have your little bobbleheads holding hands, we don't need a 10x15 photo of you and mo holding hands too."

"fine." he raised his hands in surrender, "you're just jealous you don't have a bobblehead." you rolled your eyes.

10 quirks of dating Lucas Raymond

This man has the strangest, dry, yet hilarious sense of humor. It would be a learning curve adapting your style of joking to his but once you do…no one else can make you laugh the way he does.

Lucas’s love language is definitely quality time. He loves cuddles before games, lazy Sundays, fun date nights out on the town, and any excuse to spend time with you.

It’s difficult sharing your boyfriend with his “boyfriend” Moritz. You manage. Still, the amount of times Mo has walked in on something he was supposed to see, and left gagging, is numerous. Mo also had an affinity to coming along on dates–even if he wasn’t invited.

Lucas often forgets that you aren’t swedish. After hard games he’ll come in mumbling angry swedish words and you have to interrupt.

“Hey babe, I know it was a rough game but neither me or google translate understand what Det här är så frustrerande means.”

He would come and wrap you in his arms.

“Sorry älskade, it means that the game was frustrating and I am sad. I forgot that you don’t understand me.”

Lucas is a really good listener. He's the type to never let you apologize for ranting. He also wants you to depend on him. Or at least feel like you can. Later down the line he's going to be an amazing family man. He puts his family first and wants to be the man of the house in ever situation. He's the glue of his team, the rock to your storm, and even the calm to you or Moritz’s crazy.

He insists on driving you around. It doesn't matter if it's a short trip to the store or a long road trip across Sweden–he's driving. End of story.

Speaking of Sweden, he is so happy to take you home and show you around. He talks about moving back when he retires. And it's hard not to fall in love with the idea. His family is super kind and the summers are beautiful. He also offers Swedish lessons all the time.

He is super sentimental. He kept the ticket from your very first time coming to watch his game. He also has the first card you got him for his birthday, the bookmark from the very first book you loaned him, hell even the lipstick tube of the lipstick you were wearing on your first date. He's a big teddy bear.

Rarely will you ever see Lucas mad or jealous. Only if it's been a really bad day or someone starts trying to glory with you. I feel like he gets even quieter when mad. And grabby when he’s jealous. It’s really endearing all in all. He only ever wants to make you feel safe and loved. That’s his only goal.

Speaking of goals–the two of you have a pregame ritual that happens whenever you can make a game or even when your at home. You are not allowed to touch the ground until he touches ice. So essentially you have to get carried to the car, carried to your seat, and then you have to wait. Once he touches ice you are free to stand. It’s a weird tradition but he swears it’s lucky. The tradition has even passed to some wags including Mo’s girlfriend all the way in Germany.
