Happy Chinese New Year from Three-Body community featuring cutesy versions of the main characters from the trilogy (LOL Shi Qiang really has the center spot/C位 in the 2nd picture with Wang Miao and Luo Ji on each side. You also get the full body art for these three)
OK, I'll list the characters using the 1st picture as the reference, from top left to top right: Ding Yi, Wang Miao, Zhang Beihai, Luo Ji, Yun Tianming, Shi Qiang, Ai AA, Zhuang Yan, Ye Wenjie.
Don't ask me why there is no Cheng Xin. I almost thought the one beside Ye Wenjie in the 1st picture was Cheng Xin, but the red scarf and white coat can only mean Zhuang Yan. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Edit: I was reading some comments on bilibili, and there's definitely some confusion on if the lady with the red scarf and white coat is Zhuang Yan or Cheng Xin. The red scarf and white coat alone is Zhuang Yan, but some users said the star hairclip was a symbol for Cheng Xin. It's not from the novel, but Cheng Xin wears this kind of hairclip in some animated adaptation of Three-Body. Honestly, I think it makes more sense if it's Cheng Xin because it seems she's friends with Ai AA.

I’m at the part of the dark forest where luo ji wakes up in the future and i can’t help but think about the clothing. the clothing that flashes moving images. moving images that mimics people’s thoughts or emotions. in the first book, i couldn’t get over what everyone’s predictions that the coming ages of humanity under threat of invasion will be hardened and impoverished and how it mirrors the princeps’ declaration that pretty things like culture was not suited for a civilization under threat. just… the little ways humanity is becoming trisolaran, a little less like humanity when we first meet humans in the first book.

Wang Miao: "We did it, Three-body Gang! We beat the Trisolarans!"
Luo Ji: "I guess this really was a Remembrance of Earth's Past..."
Cheng Xin: "Guys, I can feel a song coming on!"

All joking aside, this really was an amazing plot twist. Of all the things I imagined that spell could be, I never imagined that Luo Ji just….transmitted its location. Kind of insane if you think about it.

Thoughts on the Three Body Problem netflix series so far, having watched 5 episodes
Special effects and visualisations of key scenes are great, hope they'll stand up in later seasons set in the future. Looking forward to the droplet and the dual vector foil attack in particular.
I correctly guessed that Will would be the one whose brain they send into space. Wonder if they'll have him buy Jin a star first. This implies him and Jin will be the final couple after the foil attack, along with AA and that Galactic Humanity guy, wonder who's going to play them.
Wasn't a fan of Saul at first, but rereading Dark Forest and Luo Ji is literally him, at least at the beginning. Wonder if they'll do the whole imaginary wife thing.
Love Tatiana. At first I thought she was meant to be Sophon showing up very early.

Title: Strength in Numbers
Fandoms:  全职高手 | The King's Avatar (Live Action TV)
Relationships: Baozi/Luo Ji/Qiao Yifan
Summary:
“I put the captain to bed,” Baozi announces happily before he’s even in the room. “Then I thought he’ll probably need some water in case he’s thirsty when he wakes up, and then I remembered what Xiao Tang said about painkillers so I got some and put them with his glass of water. And then I thought maybe he won’t be comfortable sleeping in his clothes, but I wasn’t sure where he kept his pyjamas and—”
Baozi finally comes into the living room, and whatever he was going to say about Ye Xiu’s sleep clothes fades away from his lips as he takes in the scene in front of him. “What’s all this?”
Qiao Yifan smiles at him from the nest of blankets and cushions they’ve made on the floor in the living room. “I thought we’d sleep here tonight.”
(aka the one where Qiao Yifan misses the Happy Internet Cafe cuddle pile so recreates it with his two boyfriends)
Tumblr media
“They’re talking bets on how long it’s going to take the captain to pass out after having his one drink of the evening,” Luo Ji explains in answer to a question Qiao Yifan hasn’t even asked. “They said I wasn’t allowed to join in because it wasn’t fair.”
He sounds so adorably grumpy about it that Qiao Yifan gently pets his hair. “You can join in with me. I know you’ll get it right so I won’t bet against you, but tell me how long it will take.”
Luo Ji lets out a contented hum and snuggles closer as Qiao Yifan continues to pet his hair. “Well, it will depend what size glass he uses and what’s inside it.”
They watch as the others apparently try to reach that decision. There’s a variety of glasses of different shapes and sizes set out on the table in front of them, and various bottles behind them.
“Beer will take longer,” Luo Ji explains and that makes sense. “Baiju will take less.”
“Why is Ye Xiu even agreeing to this?” Qiao Yifan asks. “He knows he has no tolerance for alcohol.”
They all know it at this point, which is how the bet started in the first place most likely.
“He insists his tolerance has improved,” Luo Ji replies with a shrug. “Even if it hasn’t I suppose he thinks it helps him seem more like a regular person.”
Qiao Yifan would understand that if this was a public event or something involving fans. But it’s them. They’ve all long since accepted that Ye Xiu is far more than the God of Glory. They’ve seen him grumpy in the mornings before he’s had his first dose of caffeine, they know he can be petty over really trivial matters, and that he’s more or less useless at any chore that isn’t related to playing Glory. He has nothing to prove to them.
Perhaps it’s nice for him to just relax, and be someone who passes out after one drink instead of The Captain, regardless of whether it’s necessary or not.
He watches as a glass is finally settled upon and is filled almost to the brim with a pale beer.
“4.8%,” Luo Ji murmurs to himself. “If he drinks it all in one go, given the timings of the other occasions he’s done this in front of us and allowing for his alleged tolerance improvement, he’ll be unconscious six seconds after the glass is empty.”
They watch as Ye Xiu picks up the glass and gives it a cautious sniff.
“Five seconds,” Luo Ji corrects. “Although the scent of alcohol doesn’t contribute to drunkenness his brain recognises the smell and his heart rate will have increased in anticipation and that will speed up the flow of blood when the alcohol is in his system.”
Ye Xiu knocks back the drink in one go to the cheers and whoops of his friends. As soon as the glass is empty Qiao Yifan starts counting.
1.
“See, I’m fine,” Ye Xiu insists.
2.
“Baozi is out,” An Wenyi announces, looking at the piece of paper in his hand. “He said the captain would pass out immediately.”
3.
“I’m offended,” Ye Xiu says and there’s no mistaking that he’s swaying a little now.
4.
“Give it time,” Su Mucheng says.
5.
Ye Xiu blinks once, slowly, and then he’s out, thankfully toppling into an armchair that has been placed nearby for this very reason.

and even after all that character development, luo ji chose just one step after apathy. sending out a signal to catch the attention of other species lightyears away so that predators on the hunt for prey can catch the bait? he chose annihilation just like ye wenjie. fitzroy framing this move as calling out to god’s mouthpiece was exceptionally terrifying cuz it’s like……. there will always be bigger predators in the sea. what if you called that superpredator to get rid of the midsized predator tryna eat you, and bc you’re so small, the superpredator won’t care about you as much as it will the midsized predator bc u so tiny. bitch…….

I already feel bad for this Zhuang Yan girl and I hope she brutally dumps Luo Ji before the end of this book
I'm extra creeped out by the fact that he's a doctor??? Like. He's a professor, right??? So he's probably 30/in his 30s?? And this girl he finds and has flown out to God Knows Where to be his Manic Pixie Dream Girl JUST GRADUATED?!?!!? If Chinese universities work like American ones, she's not even 25 yet????
BARF?!?!?!?!?!?
Also he really shows you that no matter how intelligent someone is (and how old if he's really as old as I think he is), there is always the potential for shitty fuckboi behavior bc you really can't be assed to remember a girl's name when you been SLEEPING WITH HER?! I want to delight in his misery. His stupid little "I'm lonely, boohoo" bit isn't enough for me
