nancy resides in ny with an absurd amount of secrecy to her address in mv but i like the vibe of down the line moving the base to chicago (which im aware is not a groundbreaking idea given the closeness to river heights). she leaves river heights officially in terms of where she lives really wanting a solid break and I think at that point chicago is a little too close to home, but down the line when she’s at a place where she’s had the chance to really branch and sort of misses the comfort of river heights <3 chicago era <3

there’s not a lot of actual emergencies/situations nancy can be in where her first call would be anyone but the hardy boys. there’s a lot of people she loves and knows would come running to help but in terms of who would be immediately helpful they’re really always at the forefront. strong emergency contact material

i think it’s interesting the vibe the show goes of nancy ‘i’ll grow where i’ve been planted’ because it’s so different than her other media energies where she does in fact grow where she’s been planted but she keeps growing and eventually outgrows. she’s always leaving, and you can follow or be left behind but ultimately she doesn’t stop for anyone ... thinking thinking

i think it would be kind of funny if nancy was wholly irrelevant to main st squad until like ... season 3 but only barely. after/around events of s1 rumors and weird things going on she becomes nosy starts conducting her own investigations sneaking into places etc but she’s always just a little on the outskirts, very tv/movie scenes where 2 characters miss each other by one (1) minute and only the viewers know it and that’s kind of the s2 events energy. she gets in on the action around the case of the missing lifeguard in s3 where she’s also trying to track down billy bc that’s her ballpark, meets el and max, bam everyone is now besties forever. bonus : ned/nancy breakup bc nancy cannot stop obsessing about her silly little hawkins conspiracies (the narrator: the conspiracies were true. nancy was correct)

one of if not the most important thing to know about nancy is that solving mysteries comes first with her 99% of the time and it’s a hard & complex fact to deal with because it’s not as simple as nancy only caring about what she wants and what she likes. yes she loves mystery solving and yes it’s important to her, but she does love her friends and her family and the people around her and there’s plenty more that does matter to her.   can you call a girl selfish when what she always prioritizes is helping people ?  what else do you call it when she’s so set that sometimes she can’t see anything else ? how to accept that she’s not bad for her priorities and it’s not bad to wish they were different either, how to love her even if this part of her life won’t ever change  ?  how nancy can let herself love people knowing she might not be able to give them everything they need ? how to let people in when she doesn’t know if the ultimate consequence for her life is that she may always end up alone ?
