Azerbaijan | 2018 #magnetstories #longpostalert⚠️ A last minute buy from a souvenir shop at the international airport - the last place one should buy magnets from coz 'overprized' - these magnets were leftovers. Why leftovers? Because in the words of the store manager * The majority were picked up by those who'd attended the Baku Grand Prix * Everyone wants magnets with Baku Promenade! But why not? What's not to like about a magnet that showcases an integral part of Azeri culture - music! Variations of the scene in this hand-painted magnet have been found in books and paintings since ancient times, said the store manager as we bent over the magnet - a student and a teacher for those fleeting moments, both intent on knowledge... Each in the group of three is playing a different instrument – while one has hand raised to beat the dayereh (a medium-sized framed drum), a second is strumming the tar (a long neck one-string instrument) and the third is playing the oud (a several-stringed instrument). A few feet away, there seem to be two female figures looking on as the folk musicians strum their tunes. Reminiscent of scenes we may have stumbled on at least once in our lifetime, isn't it? #travelandlife #travelstories #travelmemories #travelmemoirs #travelgram #fromthecornertable #traveltuckintalk #travelsouvenirs #magnetdiaries #azerbaijan #azerbaijantravel #azerbaijantravel #azerimusic #lifeandculture (at Heydar Aliyev International Airport) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQbRf4rHMBo/?utm_medium=tumblr
