Te obične mahalske žene su pronašle tajnu spokojstva, ne tražeći je. Sve ih raduje, ništa te ne iznenađuje, ne žele nemoguće, dobro su dok im ne staneš na žulj, zubate ako ih povrijediš, ogovaraju ali ne zavide suviše, jezičave su ali će pomoći svakome u nevolji, znaju da je život težak ali ne plaču zbog toga, i uvijek će iščeprkati ponešto što je u njemu lijepo, a lijepo im je jednostavno, behar u bašti, kafa na brdu, svadbeno veselje u mahali, razgovori, dugi razgovori, kad sve govore odjednom, uglas, najčešće pronalazeći u ljudima i stvarima ono što je smiješno.
