i'll admit i didn't know nejiten was a popular ship because hmm what? i really get all ships and relationships being interesting if you project hard enough on them to compensate for canon but sometimes you can tell some of them (not specific to naruto) just exist because they're convenient

it is indeed popular!!! it always makes me go ??? this is why i never take srly when people complain about yaoi ships like “ppl will ship two fungus if they were male” because ppl are the same for straight ships 😭 it doesn’t matter if two characters that are either guys or a man and a woman barely looked at each other ppl will find a way to ship them! it’s boring and stupid to me but whatever floats their boat
