There’s a line in Legacy that I’m incredibly proud of, not that there aren’t lots of others. But this one definitely tops the list, the one that feels the most genuine and is the crux of the story, the one that lives in my head on a constant loop, because of how emotional it makes me:

“Listen, they say to not ever meet your heroes, and sometimes if you're lucky, you get to meet them, but if you're really lucky, you're born with them. And I got that in Sami, and how fortunate am I, because there's no one better. You've been by my side since the beginning, and now we got to do this, which is more than I could have ever dreamed”

From my memories of the mid-late 90′s, there were 2 types of guys:

 1) Guys who hated The Backstreet Boys because their girlfriends were obsessed or because they were jealous of all of their screaming fangirls. (or they were just metalheads who hated everything).

2) Guys who loved their music and admired them because they had screaming fangirls and wanted to learn their ways. Some even went as far as to copy their clothing style. dance moves, etc.

...For some reason I feel like the Malek twins would have been the second choice.

Twin-Swap

Okay—so Peen Queen poked the muse, and while this can obviously be a 100k fic, I’d like to just work on some blurbs to do a little bit on Twin Tuesdays.

This is meant to be a literal swap, like a Freaky Friday swap. I’m going to set it during the BoRhap Press Tour because I can’t imagine a more chaotic time for Sami to experience. Because let’s face it, every single day in the classroom is as chaotic as a global press tour (no, that is not sarcasm).

Let me know if you think this is gonna be a fun twin-content thing or if Peen and I should just be fic-swapping in our own world 🤣 🤣 🤣

Day 1: Rami Wakes Up in LA

Face down on the bed, the blaring of the alarm clock next to Rami’s ear startled him awake. He lifted his head and shook away the jolt of foggy thoughts that assaulted him. Last night’s party swam around in his memory; he saw flashes of smiles and drinks, heard the laughter of his friends and the clattering of empty glasses and bottles being dumped into a busboy’s bin.

What he had no recollection of was setting an alarm, especially a really loud one. Normally, his assistant called him on the hotel’s line and he was lulled out of sleep by a gentle ringing.

 When Rami opened his eyes, the world swam into focus, and immediately, he knew something was amiss.

 The color of the sheets, the feel of them under his skin, the scent of them—it was all wrong, all familiar . . . yet wrong.

 Wihrling over on to his back, Rami couldn’t even bring himself to shut off the alarm as he scrambled around in his bed—no, not his bed.

 I know this bed!

 “What? How?” he panted aloud, his heart racing as he looked around for his brother.

 Why the fuck am I in Sami’s bed? Did I get hurt? Am I dead? How did I get here?

 Rami finally untangled himself from the sheets and stood up. As he got out of bed, he looked down and touched the material of the boxers he was wearing with disbelief.

 When he reached up to run a hand through his hair, he was shocked to find he had so little of it. He tugged on his curls, so much coarser than he was used to—

 Like when I was a kid.

Rami dropped his hand from his head and clutched at his heart, wondering if it was going to beat out of his chest. As he touched his skin, he was met with a thick smattering of hair. He looked down so quickly that he gave himself spots in his vision.

 He clutched at both pectoral muscles, knowing that he was almost bare-chested.

 What the fuck is this?

 Rami was shaking, stumbling on feet that weren’t his as he ran to the mirror mounted above Sami’s dresser.

 A mouth was hanging open in disbelief as he looked at his reflection; a pair of lungs were still producing air in rapid puffs as the man in the mirror straightened up and fought the urge the cry.

 Rami wasn’t staring at his own image in the mirror: he was staring at his twin’s.

Twin Tuesday - who do you think you would get along with better

Honestly? Sami and I have a lot more in common due to our profession. I feel like that right there would lead to me and Sami getting along better. I need him to be my teacher bestie.

I wish there were some clear, baby photos of Rami & Sami available. I know there is one of them in kindergarten or grade 1 (maybe grade 2) around but they are rather blurry. There is also one that shows them, I’d guess around 2 yrs old, Jasmine is in it too. But again, kinda blurry. I grew up in the 80s and it was pretty great! My dad had a background in photography so ‘most’ of our family photos are quiet clear (👍🏻👎🏻). But the photos from that area when scanned etc don’t seem to fair well (in average).

We need wee Malek twins’ baby photos!!
