Long time no post! But my collection has been growing steadily. Did you know that the latest "Dream" release of Mameshiba Sankyodai are different colors from their usual manifestations? Mametaro, Mamejiro, Mamesaburo, and Sasuke are all paler, brown-eyed versions of their normal selves - hence my justifying their addition to my collection as "different" characters. ☺ I don't currently have every single character - there's a Boston terrier on the AMUSE online shop I have my eye on; plus they're releasing a new pup in the next few months - a girl shiba.

This is an old release in the Mameshiba Sankyodai series, but aren’t they adorable?
I really, really wish they’d release the three non-Sasuke dogs in the standard size. Especially the corgi! C’mon, AMUSE!

Here are the upcoming pirate Mameshiba. Are Mameshiba the new AMUSE craze in Japan...? It seems like they're really trying hard to sauce up old series - the Kotori Tai are getting some fancy trimmings, too (I can post 'em if anyone is a Kotori Tai fan), and so are the Loppies and Coroham.

I’m up to 10 now! :3
I really want to get Shiratama, the white Hokkaido pup, but I’m not too sure about Blues the French bulldog and Pug Sukezaemon since they haven’t appeared on TOM or in any Y!J auctions yet…

What are all the Mameshibasan Kyodai series you know of? What is the world star series? Thank you for your time!
Oh, goodness, there are actually a lot! It’s hard for me to guess how many series there are exactly, because AMUSE did several Mameshiba series that they never released wholesale (I get all my release information from wholesale sites, so if they’re not on there, it’s easy for me to miss them).
See below the cut for a TON of rambling on Mameshiba San Kyodai trivia and history. :P
So, the series began in 2014. This isn’t the original series (I can’t find a picture from it at the moment, but IIRC the original only had the three titular shiba brothers), but it’s a very early one. I’m pretty sure it’s the first release that Sasuke the Pomeranian  - who I would say is the most popular character - was in. (Fun trivia: Sasuke is so popular that he got his very own release once! I suspect that the Fuwamofu Pometan series was created in response to how popular Sasuke is…)
Another early release was the Hot Springs series. I think TOM might have carried this one at some point. It may have been the first Mameshiba series they had, if I’m remembering correctly. Here’s another early TOM carry.
Off the top of my head, other releases that TOM and wholesale sites carried are Summer Vacation, Homestay, Salesman, Travelling Friends, and Bowtie (the upcoming one with the black pug). They also do annual Halloween and Christmas Mameshiba, and every now and then they do a refresh of the original series where they have more or less the same scarves, just updated quality and materials.
The series that TOM and wholesalers carry tend to be “full set” releases, i.e. they’ll have the ballchain, standard, and large sizes. However, AMUSE quite often puts out special series in only the large size that are only available in Japanese arcades. Those special series tend to have more unique characters - such as Mikey the dachsund, Muffin the golden retriever, Will the corgi…and several others.
Muffin is from the World Star series, which you also asked about. My Japanese isn’t great, but my understanding of the series - which AMUSE made a big deal out of on their twitter - is that it was an extremely limited release, even in arcades, and as far as I know it’s the only one of their “special” releases that also had ballchain sizes. The set included the first appearances of Taiga the husky, Sugar the chihuahua, and Pugbei the pug, as well as the only appearance so far of Muffin the golden retriever. You can still sometimes find the large World Star characters on Yahoo! Japan, but the ballchain sizes are really hard to find now. I have the set, so I can post some photos later if anyone’s interested.
You can also buy some Mameshiba directly from AMUSE on their website. They have all three shiba brothers (Mametaro, Mamejiro, and Mamesaburo), Sasuke the pomeranian, Pugbei the pug, and Taiga the husky. That’s how I got Taiga in standard size. :)
Hope this was helpful!

I finally have every single one of the standing-posed, standard-sized characters in the Mameshiba San Kyodai series! Funnily enough…the last one to arrive was Mamejiro, the black one on the far left, who is one of the series’ namesake and original characters. Now my collection is complete!
…That is, until later this month when the black pug and french bulldog are released…and then October when Taiga the husky and Shiratama the white shiba come out, too……

SERIES REVIEW! The Three Mameshiba Brothers: Summer Vacation (Standard Size)
Folks have been asking me for a Mameshiba San Kyodai review for a while, so I realized it was high time for me to oblige - especially since I’ve been both collecting and selling them so heavily lately! And it’s only fair: I’m putting Mameshiba up for sale, but what are they even like? Are they worth it?
Several people have mentioned to me that they’ve thought about buying Mameshiba but want to know more about them first, this review will include information not only about this particular release, but about the Mameshiba character line in general. Read below to find out more, as well as to see more photos!
The Mameshiba differ from one series to another by two main characteristics: the dog species they feature, and their scarves. The Summer Vacation series has the namesake three Shiba brothers - Mametaro, Mamesaburo, and Mamejiro - and their friend, a Pomeranian named Sasuke. These four characters have thus far formed the backbone of the Mameshiba product line; they’re featured the most often in the monthly releases.
Here are the series tags:

It opens up to short descriptions of each character, which I think is pretty neat!
As I was saying earlier, one of the main ways each Mameshiba release distinguishes itself from other releases are the scarf themes and decorations. To be honest, they generally don’t vary much: Mametaro usually has a green scarf, Sasuke usually has a red scarf, etc. The Summer Vacation series is nice because it varies this up, and it has probably the cutest, most colorful scarf designs of any of the Mameshiba series released thus far. I took some close-up photos of each dog’s scarves, so you can see them for yourselves:

As you can see, their scarves have beach/oceanic motifs, in line with the “Summer Vacation” theme. They’re mostly good-quality and well-arranged, although I will mention that the tied ends on the front of the Mame brothers’ scarves seem like they may fray over time if you aren’t careful with them, since they’re not hemmed.
People have also asked me about their softness, and yes, they are in fact just as nice and soft as we’ve all come to expect from AMUSE plush. I wouldn’t say they’re as silky or fluffy as the Alpacasso - nor as delicate. Their fur is more along the lines of the Tsuchineko or Fenneki: shorter and denser, but still very smooth to the touch.
Because the heads are rather large, some of the individual dogs may have a bit of trouble standing without a bit of support. Thankfully, squishing the stuffing around a bit to weigh the back legs and torso down usually solves this issue.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that certain members of each series tend to have more symmetrical/better-proportioned faces than others. Mametaro (firework blue scarf) and Sasuke (light green scarf) generally have good faces, but Mamesaburo (watermelon scarf) and Mamejiro (light blue scarf) can be a bit hit and miss.
Overall, I’d say that the Summer Vacation series is my favorite of the Mameshiba series so far, and the Mametaro is very high up on my list of favorite AMUSE plushies ever! If you’re looking to get your own standard-sized Summer Vacation Mameshiba, Otaku Mode still has Mamesaburo available. You can also buy Mamejiro and Sasuke (the two on right side in the top image) directly from me for $14.00 each!

DECEMBER RELEASE! The Three Mameshiba Brothers: Mid-Journey
Another Mameshiba release! AMUSE seems to like to alternate these guys between sitting and standing positions. This pose has been used at least twice before for the Mameshiba: in the Salesman and Christmas series.
This series introduces a new character to the general releases: Taiga the husky! Taiga has appeared before in the World Star series, which had very limited edition releases in the ball chain and large sizes. Pugbeh has appeared previously in a general release, but in a standing pose: the Travelling Friends series.
What do you think is cuter: the Mameshiba standing poses, or the sitting poses?
