RIP Gwyneth Powell (5.7.1946 - 8.9.2022)

"I've always enjoyed comedy because it feels more like playing than working really, although it is quite tricky to do, and you have to have a lot of concentration. Sometimes if you have to do a scene 10/15 times over from different angles, or for technical faults, then it can be quite difficult to still be finding the bubble that you need for comedy."

Clare Weston is a challenging character‚ sometimes #an aimless figure in a story that grants her little autonomy‚ but Gwyneth grabbed that role and sunk her teeth in and made it a deeply #moving‚ affecting portrait of the personal cost‚ disbelief‚ incomprehension of the ordinary person caught up in something #way beyond their control and their boundaries. she impressed me again in a guest spot in Villains‚ !#and whilst her role in the opening Armchair Thriller‚ Rachel in Danger‚ is a relatively small one‚ it's notable for the warmth and #compassion she brings to such a minor character.
