thinking of gregory edgeworth

i feel like in a lot of shingou fics hes made to be this rational guy that just calm, to offset manfred and his general manfredness, ya know? but he's also unhinged just in the complete opposite way. even in canon, when everyone hates manfred he's still polite.... my guy.... my dude... respectfully, why?

like he is just unhinged because he's so calm. he's the scary parent actually. manfred is dramatoc but he can't bear to be mad at the kids for longer than 15 minutes. if gregory is mad the kids know they are grounded for a week and theres no plea deal available.

also gregory has to be a little unhinged to be a random 34 year old, see his 50 year old courtrrom rival and be like... i need that man.

also, in the edgeworth von karma family, none of them are hinged, the closest thing to a normal family member they have is phoenix the dog.
