August 2023 Goals Update

Man I can’t believe summer is already almost over but I am so excited for the fall!!

2023 Goals

Recurring:

Pilates/workout(use the mats and equipment you own!!!) - no rip

Grow out my hair!! No dying, cutting or heat tools.(Trimmed my bangs Jan 5th, March 17th, Mid August)- it's getting so long!!! Officially past the awkward mid length stage and it's maybe two inches above my waist, my ringlet curls are coming back around my face too!!

Get outside to stargaze once a week.- Yes!! Been taking extra time to stargaze when the weather warrants it!

Tasks:

Read 9 books- 3/9 complete!! No rip

Play Dead Space Remake- ✅ DONE, honestly the ending was really underwhelming for me but this gets me excited for potential sequel remakes 

Complete:

Finish bathroom walls- ✅

Organise the craft room closet- ✅

Get the mending pile in order!! ✅

Complete one model kit- ✅

Get two more houseplants- ✅ 7- String of Hearts variegated and normal, String of Turtles, String of Pearls, Pearls and Jade pothos, mini Rubber plant, neon pothos

Sew two staple garments-✅ 

Organisational systems for each room (making fabric bins and other things!)- ✅

Highlights:

Got our bearded dragon!! We named him after Coach Beard from Ted Lasso. I love him so much and I'm so glad to have gotten my first reptile. 

My dad has been coming over to visit more often and it's been so lovely! It's so nice to have my family around more. 

Hubby got himself one of the new Monster Rancher games and finished it which makes me so happy!! I love hanging out with him in our own elements and just enjoying each other's company.

Upgraded my bookshelf with a freebie from a neighbour, honestly not my ideal shelf but it'll work for this place!

Got a cute free plant stand from the side of the road LOL

Got my first pair of rollerskates eeeee!!! I do not know how to do it yet but I’ll learn!! Maybe a goal for next year hehe

But this silence just changed with a cryptic post on X (formerly known as Twitter). 👀 — Shytoshi Kusama™ (@ShytoshiKusama) September 29, 2023 Kusama Breaks Silence Kusama’s silence incited anticipation from majority of the SHIB community. During this period, occasionally put out content through other top SHIB ecosystem members. According to a post by Lucie, a prominent member of Shiba Inu’s development team and content marketer, Kusama had hinted on breaking his silence soon. This fueled expectations and excitement from the SHIB community, with some believing major announcements are on the horizon. Kusama’s latest post hasn’t done much justice to this enthusiasm, as the cryptic post featured a bulging eyes emoji with no further explanation. Furthermore, the post was in reply to a post made by Shiba Inu Metaverse Advisor Marcie Jastrow about an NFT collection called “MareBears” released in collaboration with media personality Paris Hilton. SHIB has one of the fastest growing altcoin community in the crypto industry. Shiba Inu has come a long way in a short time, but still has plenty of room to run. According to Lucie’s post, many updates intended to support SHIB’s community are on the way. One of these is the growth of Shibarium.  Bitcoin trading at $27,184 on the weekend chart: TradingView.com While the TVL under Shibarium has tanked, developers have announced the introduction of Shibarium ID. Shibarium ID, which is scheduled for an official launch by the end of October, is a platform where users can register, manage, and trade .shib web3 domains. Although the SHIB ecosystem has had major upgrades this year, Shiba Inu’s price has been down by more than 49% since February. At the time of writing, SHIB is trading at $0.000007468 and is up by 2% in the past 24 hours.

2023 Year in Review

Here's to sharing my goals and life publicly for the past 4 years and the last year in review post for me. I've decided to stop doing my monthly and yearly goal posts on my blog as we end off 2023. This year was a whirlwind and I am so happy to be sitting and reflecting on all that I've accomplished on my own and with family and friends. I can't wait to see where 2024 takes me.

Personal Accomplishments:

Celebrated two years of marriage and eight years together with my husband!

Turned 24 years old

Embraced myself harder than I ever have, my little girl self would be so proud of who I became. I love myself and that is something I never thought I'd say with such depth and honesty.

Started using my marebear nickname online after stopping its use in 2015.

My husband bought my permanent wedding ring, London Blue topaz and yellow gold!

Welcomed a bearded dragon into our home

Found out I have tennis elbow and slight carpal tunnel in my left arm

Chopped my hair into a short layered bob, on the road to long hair again

Changed my phone number

Cosplayed Little Red Riding Hood which was a huge cosplay milestone for me.

Switched over to shampoo and conditioner bars from Lush, I’ll be sticking with it for a long while!

Got a tens machine for pain management, works okay!

My sister and her kids stayed over for almost a week at my apartment for the first time!

Got copies of photos of my mom’s farm she grew up on, it really means the world to me to have these photos that make me feel so at home! She would tell me stories of it growing up and I never got the chance to go visit with her so it's nice to feel like we can connect this way.

I’ve become the most like a hermit I have been this year but it’s allowed me to work on myself and evaluate what and who I want in my life. 

Friendships have had many changes. I had one close friend that I had known since my youth and grew closer to in the past few years that I had a falling out with this year. Lessons learned, mistakes made, and, just, honestly made me realise online friendships aren’t the same when it comes to genuine connection and closeness. Covid really fucked up my perception of not being close to many in person for a few years so I cherished my online friendships as much as I would people I see often.

I’ve started making new meaningful friendships locally and putting effort into being closer with the ones who have stuck by me even after I tend to run away and not be socially active sporadically. I’ve known these beans for oh gosh, maybe 6-8 years now?? I really adore their attitudes and hope that we can have a wonderful friendship together!

Went thrifting for the first time since the pandemic and got a small fun autumnal mirror.

Tried Cristal for the first time, felt like such a princess hehe

We just bought a deep freezer!!!! So fricking excited to be able to save even more money with buying more in bulk! Eeee, plus I can do huge meal preps and just have the fridge freezer for ready to heat meals.

Plus we got a set of new coffee mugs coming, warm tones, nothing too fancy, love them though!!! We'll have enough matching mugs for guests to use, same pattern but different colours in the same palette uwu, they're so cute and I'm so glad we stumbled upon them!! The ones on our wish list are so expensive so they're a future purchase!!

I'm going to be doing my final 2023 goal post after the holidays. I've decided to no longer share my yearly goals online. It's not comfortable for me to share details of my life with strangers on the internet. Those who I speak with in my life will know what I want to share with them and I will only keep my art projects public. I've had eye opening realizations this year that I need to implement more changes to keep myself happy and healthy.

Man, this winter solstice was wonderful! My hubby and I went to one of our local meat shops yesterday and picked up our proteins for the next while. My hubby made us such a delicious dinner of pork chops and mashed potatoes. He also made us tortilla pizzas for lunch too! It has been so nice to see him cooking up a storm in our kitchen. We had a quick visit with family and then spent the evening playing games and watching hockey!

This morning I'll be starting a beef stew in the slow cooker which takes care of a few meals over the next few days. Yesterday was very much a day where we were busy bees but this vacation has been really lovely so far and I hope it just keeps getting better. 🥰💞

Hubby bought me the pc version of Stardew Valley today!!! He has hundreds of hours into it so I'll be his protege hehe. I'm having so much fun with it though!!! I tried to play it from our family library last year and then dropped it LOL, this lady has always been a good farming sim girly

I cannot wait until my hair is long af again irl toooo, I used to be known for my long hair in my childhood and teenage years. I had hair like this for years before I dyed it at 16. I've had a bob on and off since 18, other than growing it out for my wedding, chopping at 22, dying it orange, chopping again this September. I'm now on the journey to get back to my long light brown hair, maybe by the end of 2024 depending on how fast it grows uwu

Just finished redoing my blog theme!

I've been having so much more fun with social media now that I've removed the apps from my phone and only log in on pc. I get excited to pop online and be at my computer desk like I used to as a youth instead of always being available on my cellphone. I am so dang glad to have my digital space feel more special. Next year, I think I will be finishing the big change to getting rid of Insta and maybe messenger from my phone. Anyone that needs to get a hold of me can wait until I'm available and online or they can reach me on the phone!

Downsized my closet to be my colour season and my best colours 💞 Now that I've grown out and chopped my hair, it's fully virgin hair! I'm trying to find what tone of brown my hair is but I know what colours suit me the best now! I absolutely love being a Dark Autumn but I do have good colours in bright spring too! 🥰

Just finished uninstalling all social media apps other than a couple messaging apps from my phone. I'm going into 2024 with a clear mind and continuing the hard work I've put into myself this year. 🥰
