It’s not clear if it was satisfactory, but it certainly surprised him! His haughty expression changes to one of pure surprise. It takes him a moment to speak. When he does, it’s to the goblins, not to you.

“Let her go, Laxx, Loxx. Now.”

The goblins on either side of you release you. The king steps down from his throne and stands before you. “I did not realize there was such a plant in my kingdom,” he says. “I also did not realize that my people have not been keeping our borders well-marked and guarded.” He turns to glare at Laxx and Loxx, who cower behind you (as if they think you’ll protect them).

10 Sets You Can’t Miss At Audiotistic Bay Area 2018

Audiotistic is a festival that’s held many traditions and legacies. Dating back to 1997 to being discontinued in 2011, the festival has since made its epic return to the festival circuit. Finding a new home in the Bay Area at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, optimistic fans made it out to the revival in 2017 with great feedback.

Insomniac Events have blessed Northern California with its first major EDM festival since Beyond Wonderland. Audiostic will now extend its festivities to two days full of madness. To help you devour such a massive lineup, I’ve given you a list of my top 10 sets you should catch this weekend. Hint: you should probably get there early.

Virtual Self

There isn’t much to say here. Virtual Self will be making his iconic debut in the Bay Area at this years Audiotistic. Harnessing a huge fan base in the area as Porter Robinson, it’s evident that his supporters will be front and center to see the reincarnation of Eurodance in today’s modern era. You definitely want to see what all the buzz is about as attendees will be in for an experience they will never forget.

Kaskade

Returning to the Shoreline Amphitheatre since 2014, the legendary Kaskade will be blessing us with his presence. It’s a good time to check him off your bucket list, or relive old memories. Regardless of the occasion, his sets always hold a place near and dear in our hearts. Just, remember to bring your tissues.

Rezz

On the road to her sophomore album, Rezz will be making a stop here in the Bay Area. Marking her 4th stop in just under a year, the demand for this mid-tempo pioneer is off the charts. It’ll be interesting to see what she’s been up to and I can only hope that we hear some new bits from the upcoming project.

Ekali

Coming off an incredible Coachella performance that…actually ended up on Pornhub believe it or not, Ekali is making his way back to the Bay. After releasing a surplus of singles from his EP, the momentum is very much on the Canadians side. Let’s see what he’s got in store for us all. Feel free to pre-game with his new Awakening Vol.5 mix, My favorite by far!

Habstrakt

It’s safe to say that House music is BACK! That statement can be misleading, I’m not saying the genre was dead, more so, it’s seemed to have gone through a bit of a resurgence. Facing a complete overhaul of creativity, producers like Habstrakt have been consistent and absolutely tearing it up. The last 4 tracks put out by the French men have been wicked and I’m very curious to see what he’s got up his sleeve.

Nitti Gritti

In my opinion, it’s a bit crazy to see how early Nitti Gritti is slotted but oh well. Gives you more of a reason to get through the gates early. This multi-genre producer is about as unpredictable as they come. With a couple of festival bangers under his belt already, this is my pick to be one of the most fun sets we’ll hear that weekend.

Whipped Cream

Caroline, mostly known as Whipped Cream, has simply been slaying it. Her music imposes her will onto our ears with its use of brutal basslines and mind-blowing sound design. It’s no surprise to see her career blossom the way it has, she rightfully deserves it. You definitely don’t want to miss this set from one of the best upcoming producers of the past year.

Ray Volpe

While so young, Ray Volpe has amassed a number of wild accolades. The reincarnation of 2011-12 Skrillex makes a rare appearance in the Bay Area. Following the release of his insane “No Emotion Allowed” EP, we will all be casualties on his route to the top. Possessing one of the freshest sounds in Dubstep right now, you’ll definitely want to catch his set.

Medasin

From Soundcloud to fame, Medasin’s journey to the festival stage has been satisfyingly organic. After catching a whiff of his remix to “California Heaven”, we knew this kid was special. Apparently millions of others did as well. His music crosses over an assortment of genres from Pop to Future Bass and R&B to Trap.

GG Magree

The wild card of the weekend in my opinion. You most likely know her for her features with Zeds Dead, Jauz, and Laxx. I highly advise you dig deeper into what she’s all about. Although she’s got a small discography, I’ve got a feeling she has a couple of things up her sleeve.
