What if, the common denominator between all my stud & femme short stories is a flower festival. Either the story starts there or ends there? Not 100% but I'm definitely going to play around with the idea.

Welcome to the Underground
On the corner of Nunya and Yo’ Businez there’s a building that, despite being occupied for many centuries, looks like it was abandoned a millennium or two ago. Most don’t even realize the building is there though. With the way the vines crawl up it as if at any moment you can grab them from the top and uproot the whole thing. And the way the exposed brown brick is nothing more than just brick. Unless you look a little closer and in the right kind of sunlight. See that glitter there? It’s a shimmery dance in the light. The twinkle entices you to come and dance with it. Everyone is welcomed to the building, but you can only get in if you can tell the bouncer what happens on the third Wednesday of every month. But if you can’t, or you don’t remember, you can challenge Big Dan to an arm wrestling match. Be careful though, for someone with no arms Big Dan always manages to win. If by some stroke of luck you are able to make it into the building you have to answer yet another question after climbing down too many stairs to count. “Who was the 213th president?” There’s only one and if you were paying attention your journey down would’ve told you. Once you're inside the building and you’ve told Marii, with two I’s, why exactly you’re bothering her for. She’ll let you into a door that is just another door that looks through a window. Through this window you will see

I suck at writing characters. They just be there. No motives. No personality. Just existing. Crazy 😭🙃🙄

Me: *does extensive character sheets and mini stories were I play around with their personalities*
Friend/Twitter memes: describe your OC(s)?
Me: idk, they kind of just exist and they are gay... and violent sometimes... and they are either depressed, anxious, or uses the worst coping methods known to man... so ya know? There’s that...

okay so usually I'm a pantser when it comes to writing and that works, but only in fits of inspiration. Other times it sucks cause 8.5 times out of 10 I have no idea where I was going with the story. Anyway, for Nano I want to plan as much as my novel out as possible. So I was curious to know what you writers use for things like that. I kind of want something like Scrivener (which let's be honest I'll probably have to just suck it up and pay for it) meaning I want to be able to chapter map, do character sheets, etc. etc. and write the actual story out on one app. I'm currently using Google Docs/drive and Evernote, but I constantly update one without doing the other. Meaning my notes rarely match each other.
#marshamallow ramblings#also scrivener not having an online application is kind of a major downfall for it too.

And then what if I changed it into a graphic novel (series) as well?
Okay but what if I change my first novella from a simple little college story to dark academia? I think I could pull it off with enough research

I feel like if ima put my character in a situation that could have two different outcomes (one bad, one happy) then i should choose the one that would wield more action, right? Right, okay

Getting to page three and realizing the timeline we had originally planned for, won’t make sense in the way we’re writing our story so now I’ll be going through my timeline(s) because this is tiring.
Nano writing
I've been writing chapter 1 for a little while now, right? And I went to check to see how many pages I had written and almost cried. Because it was only 2 pages... I've been writing chapter 1 for 3 days and it's only 2 pages. I quit. This is stressful.

Okay last addition (not) what if each chapter was actually heavily influenced by a different song? And each chapter may or may not be named after the song it was inspired by? (Except like four chapters cause they don’t really fit into the whole dark academia theme)
