“Counseling through the Word” Devotional: Facing Your Own Shortcomings

Scripture: Matthew 7:3-5 (ESV) - "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." Jesus' teaching in Matthew 7:3-5 is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-examination. It's easy to point out the faults in others, but much harder to confront our own shortcomings. Yet, Jesus calls us to do just that. Before we can help others, we must first address the sin in our own lives. This passage encourages us to approach others with humility, recognizing that we, too, are in need of grace.

Devotional Thought

The imagery Jesus uses is striking—trying to remove a speck from someone else’s eye while ignoring the log in your own. It’s an exaggerated picture, but it drives home a vital truth: we often overlook our own sins while focusing on the faults of others. This can lead to a judgmental attitude, where we elevate ourselves above others instead of recognizing that we all fall short of God’s standards. Facing your own shortcomings is not about self-condemnation, but about humility and honesty before God. When you acknowledge your own need for grace, you can approach others with compassion rather than criticism. This doesn’t mean ignoring sin in others, but addressing it in a way that reflects the love and forgiveness you’ve received from Christ. Jesus doesn’t forbid helping others with their struggles; rather, He calls us to do so with the right heart. After dealing with your own sin, you will be in a better position to gently and lovingly help others. The process of self-examination and repentance equips you to see clearly and guide others in a way that honors God.

Bringing it Home: Applying What We Learned

- Self-Examination: Take time to reflect on areas in your life where you need to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. Ask Him to reveal any "logs" that may be hindering your spiritual vision. - Humble Help: When addressing the faults of others, do so with humility, remembering that you, too, are a recipient of God’s grace. Approach others with a heart of compassion rather than judgment. - Growth Through Grace: Embrace the process of personal growth by allowing God to work in your life, removing obstacles that prevent you from walking in His light.

Prayer

Lord, help me to see my own shortcomings and to seek Your grace and forgiveness. Give me the humility to address my own sin before helping others with theirs. May I approach others with the same love and compassion that You have shown me. Amen.

Scripture :Romans 8:35-39 ; Matthew7:25

As far as we are here on earth, difficult times shall arise in ways we cannot explain but amidst this, we must understand that God has not left us.

God’s love is constant and unconditional. It is unchanging. It is not based on anything we can do for him or what we have done or are doing because while we were yet sinners, following the things of this world, God showed us His love by sending Jesus to die for us (Romans 5:8). What does God love do for you? It saves you, it protects you, it provides for you, it comforts amongst many many others things and it is His love that keeps you strong in the face of adversity and that is why you have stood in times so tough you thought you will perish.

So whenever you face difficulties, don’t forget the fact that God loves you. Remember, the affliction you’re going through is to train you and to produce character for the road ahead and to ensure that you take the right decisions (Romans 5:3-4). Difficult times makes us wiser.

Dear Lord, please keep me focused on your love for me in times of adversity that I will not faint but stay strong knowing that you are with me in Jesus name. Amen.

Along with Ursa Major , it represents Christ's parable of the Sheep and the goats and final Harvest of humanity into groups of good Sheep and Evil Goats and the final case, Ursa Minor signifies a flock of untruly goats , which signify rebellious people not of Abba YHWH with sinful hearts some of whom will just barely Escape Hell when they finally repent at the last moment ( Matthew7:22-23, 25 : 41-46 ; 1 Cor. 3 : 15 ; Jude 1: 21-23). Now I am going to tell you what are Heavenly Father by summarize what the Wolf Blood Red Moon in the sign Scorpio cancer and Pisces means. One thing about a blood red moon is a sign to Israel impending War with its Arab Neighbors which is talked about in Psalm 83 War to begin very soon. And looked, and I heard an eagle flying in the mid-heaven, crying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to those dwelling upon the Earth,. (Further reading Amo. 5 : 16, Luk 6 : 25 , Rev. 18 : 10 , Rev. 9 : 12). This is a prophetic sign for my heavenly father and there is a short window of opportunity of blessings and repentance which will come to an end. This is the prophetic message of the Wolf Blood Moon Jan.20 Sunday 2019 from Abba YHWH ( Heavenly Father) I am shredding and sealing the door ! I [ cast/hurl down] all who are not sealed with the mark of My covenantship. By the staff of My Authority ,,I choose to give the poor and powerless access to My kingdom through the Door which I have provided. It is their choice [the Door] is connecting Rod between Me and thee. The Shepherd gives a loud and long awaited blast on the shofar [ trumpet] from His mountain. " Wake up ! Rouse yourself!". He measures His enemies exposing the nakedness of the fearful and hesitant who will learn His ways. He sees their evil and and worthless lives Alas ! Woe ! Calamity and blindness add to their misery. The Shepherd guides His flock to graze in His pasture. They quench their thirst in His Word with the purpose of becoming deeply rooted in Him , connected to their Friend and Companion [ on the Way] . He covers their nakedness and gives them eyes to see. The poor and powerless who decide to enter through the Door , who teach and learn My righteousness ways and ideals, who draw near My side who are on the same page as I am will shelter. They are overshadowed by My protection I record their righteous choices ,and they quiver with delight as I set their lives to music. Having been filtered, they clearly belong to Me. The poor and Powerless who choose not to enter My kingdom through the Door in heaven I have provided who are far from Me ,who are on a different page and who turn aside from Me.... I will turn aside from and devastate.

I overshadow them as well but My Presence is not protection to them . They Plunge Into Darkness sinking deeper and deeper. They too have been filtered and it is clear to Whom they do not belong.

This a warning from Abba YHWH ( Heavenly Father) . The Wolf Blood Red Moon on Jan 20 Sunday 2019 clearly a warning sign not only to Israel but to the unbeliever it is time to get your spiritual house in order and right with the gospel of Yahshua (Jesus).
