(apparently) opposed to popular opinions, peter pettigrew wasnt especially cowardly or idk disloyal or any of those negative traits.

in fact, he was not only a gryffindor (not a slytherin) but also a part of the marauders.

and they werent really the kind to include random people, I dont think. they were pretty good friends, if not to say family. they did spent nearly every day for seven years together.

and one does not simply betray their family (except for if it's a shit family; see sirius).

he was a part of them, genuinely, and valued for his traits and skills.
