Drown (G.D) - part 3
Tumblr media
Word-count: 1.6k
Summary: Thing’s getting intense between Grayson and Bianca; Grayson didn’t like the idea about Bianca and Declan together, and Bianca hated the fact that Grayson’s activating his protective best-friend mode.
———————————————————————
“So you’ve been talking to the goddamn Declan Hayes all this time?! Behind my back?,” Bianca nearly throws her phone once Hannah screamed at herthrough Facetime.
“Uh, our backs, Hannah,” Tiffany adds to correct her statement.
“Yeah, whatever. You’ve been keeping it as a secret from Tiff and I?!,” again, Hannah yells.
“I swear to God, Hannah, yell one more time and I’m ending this call,” Bianca rolls her eyes back as she switches the call to the speaker mode and place it on her bed. She lazily gets up and makes her way straight to her closet. Honestly, she doesn’t feel like going to the Dolan’s.
“But, Bi, how’s it going? You and Declan?,” Tiffany asks.
Bianca grabs her favorite knitted sweater as she yells, not trying to sound aggressive, but only to make sure the other two girls can hear her.
“Okay, I think? He wanted to get some coffee with me. The other day he asked me if we could get some burgers together. Around 3 days ago, he asked me if i needed a ride home,” She replies.
“Please tell me you said ‘yes’ to the first and the second offer, Reine. Or else I’m going to lose my shit,” Hannah yells.
“Well maybe if the one who asked me was Gray—“
“He got Isla. Get over it,” Hannah quickly cuts her word.
Ouch. That hurts.
Bianca remains silent for a while as she tries to process her words. As she picks up a pair of leggings to match her top, she lets out a soft sigh.
“But Hannah, I love him. So much. I’ve been crushing on him since I was 12–,”
“Yeah, but he chose your bitchy cousin instead of you. He’s blind. Ain’t worth it,” Another knife thrown to her chest.
“Bi, I think it’s worth a try for you to go out with Declan sometimes. I mean, if it doesn’t work, consider it as a childhood-friends-reunion?,” suggests Tiffany.
“Yup. Well, maybe— who knows— he’s much better than Grayson,” Hannah adds.
Doubt that. But maybe Tiff’s right, tho? Worth a try, maybe it’ll help her to get over the fact that the man of her dreams isn’t for her, since he’s snatched by her evil cousin.
“Right, right, I’ll text him,” Bianca mumbles as she puts the knitted sweater on, followed with the leggings right after. Once she’s done with the outfit, she grabs a hair tie from her drawer and ties her hair into a loose braid.
“Looking cute!,” Tiffany squeals as she watches her getting ready for the dinner. Bianca gives her a wink.
“Nah, kinda boring. Why don’t you put on a crop top, and shorts... like— show Grayson what he’s been missing, yanno?,” Hannah disagrees.
“You know, I would go there naked to show him what he’s been missing, but like you two said— he’s taken, maybe I should just give up,” Bianca quickly gives them another wink. They can’t help but laugh at her answer.
“Now, I need to go. For a dinner, and a little tutoring session. I’ll keep you two updated, bye!,” She waves her hand and immediately end the call.
“Bianca, you ready?,” She can hear her mom’s voice echoes.
Bianca quickly grabs her books and shoves them into her backpack before she runs out of her room.
“Yeah, coming!”
———————————————————————
What’s up, Bi?
Bianca’s in the middle of dinner with the Dolans, and her phone beeps. She takes a quick look at it to find out that Declan Hayes sent her a message.
While she’s on her way to the Dolan’s residence, she finally decided to give it a try and texted Declan. Just a simple “hi”. Okay, maybe with a smiley emoji.
She smiles at her phone screen, before she quickly types a message to reply his text, while the others are busy talking. Well, except one.
Grayson.
Grayson has been watching her smiling at her phone for few minutes. And he’s dying to know the reason why she’s smiling at her phone screen. He probably knows, but clearly he doesn’t like it.
Not much, just having dinner. You?
Sent.
As soon as she replies to Declan’s text, she puts her phone down once again. She shifts her gaze from the phone, to everyone in the room to make sure no one’s paying attention to her texting during dinner. And that’s when she finally meets Grayson’s beautiful hazel eyes.
Hold up, is that anger in his eyes—
“What?,” Bianca mouths the word, with her eyes remains locked with his. He remains silent, shaking his head. He sets his fork down on the plate before he opens his mouth.
“I’m so full. I think I’m done. I need to study for tomorrow’s test,” He speaks up.
“Alright, dear. Ethan and Bianca too?,” Lisa responds.
“Yeah, Ethan too. And Bianca— if she’s done with the dinner. She hasn’t touched her food,” Grayson points at her plate, which is still filled with the half-eaten mashed potatoes, along with the roasted chicken breast.
“I’m not really hungry, just... kinda stressed about the test. I think I better study,” Bianca sets her fork down on her plate before she gets up. “But thanks for the dinner, Auntie Lisa,” She adds.
Yes, she calls her ‘Auntie Lisa’ because she’s just like her mother’s sister.
Lisa gives her a smile and a slight nod. Bianca gives her a smile back as she grabs her backpack, following Grayson, who’s already heading upstairs to his room.
As she turns to the living room, she finds Ethan sitting on the couch, busy with his phone. A light chuckle escapes her as she approach him, close enough to ruffle his hair.
“You coming? We’re about to start the studying session,” she asks, inviting him to join her and Grayson. “Besides, you’re supposed to be there to watch me, according to your brother’s girlfriend,” Bianca teases him.
“Fuck Isla,” He laughs, shaking his head as he get up from his seat.
“I thought you two get along well?,” She arches her brow as they head upstairs.
“I’m just trying to be nice, like I don’t wanna be rude. I don’t know what’s going inside Grayson’s head that he chose to ask her to be his girlfriend,” Ethan answers.
“She looks like Barbie doll,” she guesses.
“She’s evil,”
Bianca can’t help but bursts into endless laughter. Well... he’s kinda right, though.
“Don’t tell Grayson I said that,” Ethan shoots her a playful glare as he steps into Grayson’s room. She just shakes her head, finding his antics entertaining as she follows him.
———————————————————————
“So... the cytoplasm is actually surrounded and protected by the cell membrane, right?,” Ethan’s voice echoes.
Bianca gives him a quick nod before she shifts her gaze back to the phone in her hand.
Another text from Declan.
Are you free tomorrow?
Wait, is he going to ask you out once again?
She gently bites her bottom lip as she types the message.
I think. Why?
“Wait, so cytoplasm is part of the protoplasm?,” This time, Grayson asks.
But Bianca’s eyes remain glued onto the phone screen, too busy re-reading the whole conversation with Declan. Suddenly, she gets excited about the thought of going out with him. A smile comes across her lips as she daydreams about the possible thing to happen with her and Declan.
“Bi,”
No answer.
“Bianca,”
Damn, what if Declan’s really into her?
“Jesus Christ, Bianca, I need your help for the Biology test tomorrow,” Grayson groans. She can sense frustration in his tone.
Bianca quickly puts her phone down, and shifts her focus back to the topic discussed. “I’m sorry, can you please repeat the question once again?,” she begs.
“The answer is, yes, bro,” Ethan beats her in answering the question, after he spent nearly five minutes looking for the answer in his book.
“Thanks,” Grayson replies, with his eyes still locked on Bianca’s. “Are you kinda busy, Bi?,” He asks. His gaze moves to the phone that she puts on top of her book.
“It’s nothing important,” She sighs.
“You’re smiling the whole time like a complete idiot, is it Declan?,” He licks his upper lip. Ethan remains silent, but he’s clearly distracted by Grayson’s question.
“Why do you care?,” Bianca scoffs, feeling uncomfortable with him investigating her.
“Answer me, is it Declan?,” He repeats his question once again.
“I thought we’re going to study for the Biology test,” Ethan mumbles.
“Yes, it’s Declan. Why?,” She’s getting pissed with Grayson being nosy that she ignores Ethan.
“You know he ain’t shit, Bianca,” She can feel Grayson’s tone is rising.
“Why do you care?,” She quickly closes her book, not giving a damn anymore about the test since her childhood’s crush is testing her.
“He’s a douche! You deserve someone better! What the fuck is wrong with you?!,” Grayson throws his book onto his bed.
“Oh, and who do you think you are? You think you have the right to control me?!,” Bianca glare sat him.
“I’m your bestfriend!”
“Did I hold you back from dating Isla though I know she’s annoying?!,” She’s completely angry that she yells.
Grayson keeps his mouth shut. He knows that what she said was right. She’s his bestfriend, but she has never tried to control him, unlike what he’s doing now.
“I’m just trying to protect you,” He mumbles.
“I appreciate that, but I’m not a baby. I can make my own decision,” Bianca defends herself.
What the hell, Grayson? Who do you think you are?
The heated argument really got her mood dropped. Bianca takes a quick glance at the clock on his wall. 10 pm.
“Now if you excuse me, I need to go back home and get some rest,” She grabs her book, along with her phone before she gets up. “Goodnight,” she add.
Grayson looks away. It seems like he’s still mad. So she gives Ethan a small smile and heads out of his room.
What is going on inside his head? He thinks he can control her?
No, Grayson.
It’s time for Bianca Reine to move on. He’s nothing but her childhood crush.

hot takes [pt. ii]
good[e] morning campers! we have more thoughts on \_ |_ | _/  RuPaul’s Drag Race episode 9... because i have nothing better to think about... lol. This is a novel, btw.
SO... I have said it before and i will say it again... the in memorium segment gave me life. Robot Barbie Cheerleader. also RIP to jan’s clear drink in untucked.
Let’s get into the gig, because why not. Unsure if readers are aware, but I am very politically minded. [do I use tumblr as a way to put politics aside for a little while? sure. but I have also worked on campaigns, did not take Elizabeth warren dropping out of the presidential race well... I mean she dropped at the beginning of march and now look at where we are.... anyWAYs.]
I did not like this episode. I did not like the challenge. From what I understand, the only other time this challenge was done was in season 4, but I stopped watching season 4 when sharon wore a conf*derate flag bodysuit for a mini challenge, prior to which she wore a mccain/palin shirt. I still don’t know if it was a joke, but #yeet.
So this episode took the place of a “roast”/ stand up episode. Those are usually fine. They separate folks a little bit more. But, as someone who followed the recent primary with a VERY close eye, but was could also be humorous about it... Debates are hard to do. What makes a debate work is that everyone is well versed on everyone else’s platform, and knows how to attack them, because they have been the same person the whole time. For some reason, everyone “invented” a different character to play.... no one had a real platform... and it’s really hard to ~volley~ when people don’t really understand everyone’s characters. I also think, similar to the democratic primary- that there were too many people on stage. I also think snatch game happened too early... but that’s another story never mind anyway [did you catch that into the woods/bernadette peters joke???? @ JAN ].
So everyone has these “characters” which for the most part are not super consistent with who they’ve been portraying on the show... which makes it challenging. Then, it was moderated very poorly, and then edited together very poorly. There was no flow... it was very choppy. Again... not a fan.
Season 8 also had a political challenge, but if i remember correctly, that was just a branding challenge kind of. It was better than this. Now, do I appreciate the fact that Drag Race is taking this election very seriously?? YES. But this challenge was just Not It.
I thought Jaida was very consistent, I liked Jackie’s a lot [It seems like a running gag that she is too prepared in the same way that Jan was too energetic... which has its own election flashbacks....] I am really enjoying crystal... I thought she also had what was close to a fully formed character.. it just needed to bake a little more.
So... next up... ms. goode. #cringe. tbh I don’t care about the performance. Were they just trying to redo snatch game? basically. were they the only person to try and do that? No.
This mirror chat was the bomb dot com tho. best part of the episode.
We’re talking about the “oh i’m not political” We knew from episode one that Gigi grew up in a lot of privilege- and wasn’t the only one [@ jan] but jesus has it shown in gigi the most... I mean bob the drag queen said it best.. Gigi goode’s mom vs Jaida Essence Hall.
But the nerve to openly say “i’m not political, and I don’t like it” when you KNOW at this point in time what the contestants have gone through... it’s just really insensitive. Also to be the open front runner knowing that the RPDR fans can be young and impressionable.. is really irresponsible TBH.
Guess what? I don’t like to follow the news sometimes. I don’t watch tr*mp’s press conferences. Sometimes I log off twitter and go to tumblr. But I still stay INFORMED on the issues and am able to back up my positions. I VOTE. [cannot believe i’m saying this but i would not be surprised if gigi did not vote in 2016.]
[sidebar]
Maybe it’s bc I stan jan in a way that I have stanned no one else before [the only ru girl who even comes close to it while I was actively watching the show without prior knowledge is naomi] Maybe it’s combined with the quarantine that I have nothing else to do. And with that comes a [virtual] introduction to basically everybody who’s anybody in the NYC drag scene. [I will say the Bob-Monet-Cracker-Jan quad is just A+] So maybe I just have a better idea of what it is [have I gone down a Youtube rabbit hole on this subject? yes]
Is new york also my personal favorite city? yes. Have I been to LA? no. Do I like the concept of LA? no. Have I been west of the mississippi river? no. So maybe it’s a combination of all of these things [including Jan saying on repeat that New York is the greatest city to do drag] but. The NYC girls are just so much more political. Brita, Bob, MOnet, tbh Jan is also on the record saying some A+ shiz. Marti Cummings is a non binary drag artist running for city council in manhattan. “Everybody black and aquaria.”
Is NYC politics like any city, full of machines and garbage too? Sure. But NYC is just so much more powerful and political. LA is just the embodiment of privilege.
I also think it’s interesting that some of the smaller town/city gals will move to LA [Trixie/Katya/Alaska? I’m looking @ you] after they get the drag race coin. Not that it’s a bad thing or anything, it’s just an interesting dynamic. [another aside: the non NY/LA girls deserve it all and i think it’s really powerful when the show directly addresses issues of wealth/privilege/access to drag on the show.]
[end sidebar]
And Gigi came into the competition saying “I want to be on vogue” which is great. Their fashion sense is great. Most of their outfits are great. It’s great that they can do comedy [sometimes- like when they are not playing the role of Gigi] But something else I take issue with- and don’t get me wrong humility is great- is the whole “I’m not a dancer” that’s BS. they whole back handspring etc, madonna challenge. Maybe you weren’t a trained dancer, but ffs cut the crap. [if you haven’t look up gigi goode showgirls]
And yet the judges continue to give Gigi [and SP] free passes. It’s like Ru is so afraid that if either of them end up in the bottom, they won’t turn it out and then there will be no frontrunner. Well guess what? In season 7, Max had 2 wins before anyone else and came in 9th. valentina going home was a total gag. Brooke and Yvie lip synced on the snatch game ep. But Apparently when the skinny white fashion queen from the big city [gigi, aquaria] does less than well, they don’t get put up for elimination??? [did aquaria deserve to lip sync for the makeover? idk.]
Gigi is getting a “winner” edit and it’s not really fair to anyone. People who should have won certain challenges were IGNORED, and instead the producers give all the credit to gigi, giving them almost a worse edit. Like we want to see humans, not robots. If we learned ANYTHING from last week is that the judges don’t like when you just “start on 100 and stay there THE WHOLE TIME”. Bc the truth is that [aside from the loads and loads and loads of privilege,] Gigi is really nice and very talented. But I, as a viewer of reality TV, live to see the perfect fail. I want everyone to shine [this is why I loved when Naomi sent manila home, oops]
Also.. I would like to address the fact that Gigi basically used the same outfit twice... this runway and entrance look have almost the same pattern, with just a slightly different skirt type. I would like for this behavior to be called out bc it is such a memorable silhouette.
Also- Shout out to Crystal for the most bomb ass runway... I want that whole outfit pls.
but aside from that... TBH I just want a show with the real top 7 [ the heidi and widow have been cracking me up saying “we’re at top 5″ or “we’re at top 6″ before the ep aired on instagram and I’m loling.. and that VERY AWK moment when Jan is on the x change rate saying that they couldn’t justify putting anyone other that her and widow in the bottom bc gigi and 3 wins and trying to work around not saying SP’s name had 2. [also shout out to jan the real mvp for unfollowing SP on twitter]] doing competitions and having fun. And I’ve said this before. This is a really good season that did not need production’s handprints all over everything. But they chose to cast RuPaul’s Best Friend Race, so they shouldn’t be complaining or trying to manufacture drama.
I was cracking up when Jaida was [clearly prodded by producers] asking is there anything we need to talk about? and then Jackie goes to talk to widow right before they leave and they are just nice to each other. lol no drama here. It’s the season of the inner saboteur.
So Jackie and widow are in the bottom and tbh I don’t know. I would have liked to see Gigi lip sync. I would have liked this challenge to not happen. but it did. The lip sync song.. I just didn’t love the cut... Katy perry’s voice is so over produced [trend alert] that the illusion of the lip sync didn’t work in the first chorus. Jackie’s plastic bag was just A+. These lip syncs, tbh starting w jan v widow have been very good. not good enough to make up for the garbage that was everything since ep. 3, but close. [and some of that was song choice, some of it was not. I will say brita killed her first one but rip to rock]
Jeff gold bloom. I just don’t know. Maybe it’s bc I never saw jurassic park. Maybe he was just a bad judge. maybe he too was being prodded by production. ugh. You can read the takes on his interactions with jackie somewhere else.

NFL Airs Anti-Police Brutality Ad During The Super Bowl + Blackballed Colin Kaepernick Does Charity Instead + The Carters Criticized For Not Standing During National Anthem
Tumblr media
There’s drama following Super Bowl LIV! (Shocker, right?) The NFL interestingly aired an anti-police brutality commercial during the game, sans blackballed player Colin Kaepernick. Find out what Kap was doing during the game, plus the controversy surrounding Beyonce & Jay-Z sitting during the National Anthem inside…
The behind-the-scenes drama seems to be just as entertaining as the actual game for this year’s Super Bowl LIV.
As we all know, the commercials that play during the Super Bowl are a big deal, so when an anti-police brutality ad popped up during the big game it def took folks by surprise. Like, the hypocrisy and irony is unmatched.
After blackballing former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick for kneeling in protest of police brutality, the National Football League had the nerve to air an anti-police brutality commercial during the big game. The spot featured the murder of Botham Jean – a black man killed inside his own apartment by white cop Amber Guyger. In the clip, Botham’s family share photos and videos of Botham, explaining how the world lost a wonderful human being in a senseless act of violence.
Check it:

— NFL (@NFL) January 22, 2020
The commercial was good. There’s no taking away from the message of the commercial. However, isn’t this what Kaepernick was kneeling for? To bring awareness to police brutality?
In 2016, Colin Kaepernick started a silent protest where he took a knee during the National Anthem to help bring awareness to police brutality and racial injustices. His actions eventually resulted in the former QB being blackballed from the league, yet they air a commercial with the SAME message he has been trying to spread to the masses?
The ad seems to be part of the NFL’s initiative called Inspire Change, which is a campaign spearheaded by Jay-Z last year when he inked his deal with the league. The campaign is dedicated to “education and economic empowerment, police and community relations, and criminal justice reform.”
So why now does the NFL seemingly see the issue with police brutality, but didn't see the vision about why the NFL platform IS a place for this to be discussed when Colin Kaepernick took a knee?
It didn't go unnoticed:
And then, in an ultimate hold my beer moment, the @NFL, who blackballed Kaep for years for protesting cops killing unarmed black men, had an ad about effecting social change by fighting to reduce the number of unarmed black men killed by police.
You can't make this shit up.
— JayQwellin (@DarkCovfefe) February 3, 2020
lmao the fucking nfl has an ad about addressing police brutality hmmm if only someone was trying to do that years ago pic.twitter.com/XWRaacUg8j
— jordan (@JordanUhl) February 3, 2020
No, no, no @NFL! DO NOT HALF-STEP!!! You want to do the right thing by running the "Inspire Change"/ Unjustified Police Brutality commercials? I sincerely think that's great. But don't you dare continue to do it without giving @Kaepernick7 a fair shot at getting back into the NFL
— Cornell Lawrence (@CornellLawrenc3) February 3, 2020
Black people are not to be tokenized for political exploitation.
Two rich, racist presidential candidates conveyed white savior complex.  @Kaepernick7 took a knee to protest police brutality, only to have the @NFL publicize an ad on police brutality.

While his former team played in the Super Bowl, Colin Kaepernick was busy giving back!
The former NFL star made his way to the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem yesterday where he spent time meeting the employees and touring the building. Then, he teamed up with Carolina Panthers safety/his friend Eric Reid and 100 Suits for 100 Men at the SCO Family Shelter in Jamaica, Queens to pass out suits to men. The organization 100 Suits for 100 Men is a non-profit that gifts clothing to men and women looking for jobs.
After that, Colin helped serve meals at the Shelter with help from the LES Girls Club and Know Your Rights volunteers.

There was more controversy from the Super Bowl...
WATCH: While thousands of proud Americans stood in-allegiance for the National Anthem, Jay-Z and Beyonce sat in silence.
America has no place for unpatriotic scum like these two.

— Andrew Pollack (@AndrewPollackFL) February 3, 2020
As Demi Lovato belted out the National Anthem, Beyonce & Jay-Z were recorded sitting during her performance. And that caused social media to go into a frenzy.

There was backlash when Kaeprnick kneeled during the Anthem, and now Beyonce and Jay-Z. Thing is, there's too much information on this matter for people not to understand why African Americans are disinterested in standing during the Anthem.
— SirVincent Rogers Sr. (@SirV55) February 3, 2020
What a disgusting act of shame.
Beyonce and Jay-Z remained seated during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
This country has given them the opportunity to be everything they are, and they reward it by disgracing the Flag and Anthem!
Our service heroes deserve more respect!

Eric Reid also posted up on tweets, seemingly firing shots at the Carters:

He also retweeted these tweets on his timeline:

Y’all the fake caring about Black people and injustice ads aren’t for us. It’s for white people, to make them not feel bad about supporting racist politicians & policies. Why would you think they care about us when they continue to kill us?
— Bree Newsome Bass (@BreeNewsome) February 3, 2020
After news of Hov's deal with the NFL, the Hip Hop mogul said he still supports Kap, but said, “We’ve moved past kneeling. I think it’s time to go into actionable items.” Mr. Carter also said he had spoken to Colin about the deal before it was made public, but the former QB denied those reports.
After Bey & Jay's video went viral, Colin himself even fired a shot. He reposted an IG Stories originally posted by Miko Grimes, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes, where she's criticisizing Bey & Jay sitting during the National Anthem with the "thinking" anamoji and the caption, "I thought we were past kneeling tho?":
Tumblr media
Bigot Barbie Tomi Lahren didn't waste any time verbally attacking The Carters on social media:
Beyoncé & Jay-Z (former crack dealer)sit for the national anthem because apparently the United States of America has oppressed them with millions upon millions of dollars & fans. Sounds rough. Maybe they should try another country that allows them a little more freedom & success?
— Tomi Lahren (@TomiLahren) February 3, 2020
"Beyonce & Jay-Z (former crack dealer) sit for the national anthem because apparently the United States of America has oppressed them with millions upon millions of dollars & fans," she tweeted. "Sounds rough. Maybe they should try another country that allows them a little more freedom & success?"
She's always looking for her little 15 minutes of fame. She knows more than anyone that exercising the right to protest is more American and shows more love for this country than anybody in her party.
Decked out in Ivy Park x Adidas threads, daytime talk show host Wendy Williams said Bey & Jay should have stood during the anthem while delivering her Hot Topics segment today:

So, she's dragging Bey while wearing her clothing? Oh. She also threw in that her stylist "received the clothes a few weeks ago," seemingly trying to hint Beyoncé - who is known to not have a relationship with Wendy - gifted the clothes to them.  But who even knows.
Outside of the drama, Bey shared flicks from her personal stash of her Super Bowl outfit:
