tuesday - wednesday

semi-unhappy.

today i threw a bunch of chicken away, after trying to cook it and it not turning out how i wanted. i guess i freaked out because of that, idk, i just looked at it, and was like, so unhappy, i just decided it would be better to just toss it. so i did. hopefully i can figure out a way to do what i wanted, just using flour to make a thicker sauce that also turns into a bit of a crust on whatever i cook. i feel so stupid though, like i am never going to cook well again. up and down, all over, these days, it's just this stupid up and down. i feel like crying saying that. i guess i'm not semi-unhappy.

i am eating praline (i like that it sounds like praying) and drinking green tea. i programmed/chopped up a whole 12 minute drum part for the noise set. i need to read more soon but i've been really low energy i feel like, i dunno. i also did work more on that song i was trying to get right, and it's definitely closer. i'm really happy about that, i think. i'll test my happiness by listening again. i'm always ready to ruin my mood like that i guess, everything i say seems hurtful to myself, i dunno, i'm feeling so strange. i am going to listen to it now, for real. the thoughts on it are that it's definitely a lot better, i think maybe there's this little high pitched/watery twinge to a guitar sound, i should try getting rid of that, i think that's partially the lossy effect i used to get some more chime-like tone out of the fake guitar, so i can lower that, and maybe roll off some of the boosting i did in the highs. but i do like the sound. also one of the distortions on it, is adding that, so i have to lower the wetness on that i think as well. that might be the biggest thing, do that and lower the lossy effect, and then i should be able to avoid rolling off the highs. the right channel guitar is maybe a little puffy? i d k. maybe i should also work on the snare a little because it's chubby feeling still. too uneven a sound? idk. these are three points in particular to look at, which is good i think. the kick comes through really well. also the vocals maybe have too much mid-range boosting. those are easy fixes.

okay so the fixes are:

left channel guitar watery sound

right channel guitar too puffy sounding still maybe (maybe i just want to try replacing it with another guitar sound, since it is a lower-end guitar sound and i really like another preset i have made for those).

also in the right channel, a weird clicking sound from the guitar, i need to figure that out.

snare too resonant/not pingy enough (too much compression, probably, paired with too much mid-boosting, raise the highs by a touch and mess with some of the earlier curves (also remove more curves)).

vocals still funny, but they're really hard to get right, i don;t know entirely what to do (plus i still need to re-record them).

who knows what i will think of the song tomorrow, maybe some of this will not even be a problem, simply cuz my ears are tired rn it seems like something, who knows. i am tired but i do have a weird thought, entirely unrelated:

thinking abt paranormal investigation yt videos, the ones where they have all those things that light up, i wonder where the threshold is for those to become a kind of art, like for the ways they set those things off via interference or something, in this case it would be intentional, to produce a kind of meaning, the array of tension, the facile nature of it surfaced and explored. that seems interesting. the eeriness of the methods of searching, would be the thing you look at. someone so obsessed with making an exciting video or something, and that being hyper-visible. that seems interesting to probe. i'll think about it more i guess.

I sometimes forget he’s Japanese (and I feel like the members do too)

knows more about Seoul than Taeyong who is from Seoul

explored the city out of curiosity, mastered the language because he’s brilliant

also competitive so he probably wanted to impress others too

witty and direct with his humour

he’d be scary in a fight not because he’s strong, but because he would make you cry with his words before the fight even started

he does have some Slytherin qualities

he’s charming and charismatic, so I feel like he could persuade others easily, especially if they’re a naive person

he’s loyal to his close friends and will put in extra effort so they succeed

has a close bond with fellow 95z and the other foreign members

and he’s protective of his close people (which can lead to jealousy but with isn’t a yuwin fic so let’s stop here)

Kun

SM let this angel actually debut please

HUFFLEPUFF

underappreciated but he’s such a huge support to the other foreign members (especially China Line)

the fourth and final member of NCT’s parent line

might actually fit the stereotype of Hufflepuff’s being foodies

but he’s so much more than a great chef and support system

he’s steadfast and has resilience to put up with SM (and possibly a bit naive but hey that’s Hufflepuff)

not to mention he��s the one calm voice in NCT’s sea of crackheads

save him from Yukhei please

one of the few NCT members I would trust with my life

I have Kun picked as an almost “pure” Hufflepuff, he just screams comfort and trust and friendliness

he has leadership skills that give him a Gryffindor edge

but he leads like a Hufflepuff would- with fairness and the aim to help others without personal ambition or recklessness like Gryffindors

also hella smart (cooking, languages, arts, magic) but maybe he just has too much free time

give Kun a job SM smh

Doyoung (Dongyoung)

boy had me hooked from the eyebrow raise in t7s

to put him anywhere else would be a disservice

self-proclaimed smartest NCT member unless he’s up against Hyuck

the king of quick wit and sarcasm

I swear one if there’s a murder in NCT it will be Dongyoung but no one will be able to prove it, he’s that clever

luckily he uses his brain for good

(sometimes brutal) honesty but he wants to be clear about his thoughts

third parent of NCT and imo he may have been one of the contenders for leader during their rookie days

responsible and trustworthy but if he gets too competitive (with himself or others) he can become selfish and a bit of a recluse depending on the situation

likes to “teach” aka nag when he knows he’s right 

that mom friend? yeah that’s Dongyoung

unsurprisingly has a lot of Gryffindor qualities

most of them are displayed on stage, like his charisma

a bit rebellious when he wants to be, but only for the really good reasons

like breaking choreo to yell “be careful” to the members during Dream Concert

he’s also a drama queen let’s be real

on one hand: meme king; on the other: where is actor Doyoung, SM?

according to his MBTI he should be Hufflepuff, but I think that’s just the caretaker part of him
