The lovely lehenga,belongs to Delhi based designer mayyur girotra's collection rangrez coutur 19 20 and showcase a juxtaposition of fauna , craft and contrasting hues this Pewter grey lehennga made using Resham thread and 32 different colours the lehenga has stunning motifs made of intricate Kutch embroidery and mirrors. Paired with a short choli and a breathtaking cutwork applique dupatta, this ensemble is a treat to the eyes.

This week, Bollywood stepped out in some exceptional Indian ethnic ensembles.

While Deepika Padukone kickstarted Padmavati promotions in a sheer floral Sabyasachi sari (don’t miss the statement jhumkas she paired the wedding-ready ensemble with), Sonakshi Sinha spread the word about her new film, Ittefaq, in an embellished Anamika Khanna crop-and-dhoti-pants set. Shilpa Shetty Kundra opted for a belted black Shivan & Narresh cocktail sari, and Aditi Rao Hydari also favoured neutral hues, picking a black and being Mayyur Girotra lehenga.

For almost everyone else, breezy skirts were the pick of the week. We spotted Gauri Khan taking her private ferry to Alibaug (where she celebrated Shah Rukh Khan’s 52nd birthday with family and friends) in a blue and white wrap skirt, Neha Dhupia hanging out in a pleated yellow midi version, and Parineeti Chopra promoting Golmaal Again in an asymmetrical leather avatar of the staple. Taapsee Pannu, while gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Judwaa 2, is giving us style goals with her fashion choices. As part of the film’s promotions, Pannu seems all ready to experiment with unconventional looks and we are loving it. From dainty, embellished dresses to shiny, festive pink traditional Indian wear — the beautiful actor looks like a vision.

While we are yet to see Pannu experiment with her hairstyle, she impressed us in an embellished mesh dress from Rose Room Couture. She paired the bell-sleeved dress with a pair of nude pumps and similar toned-socks which she has been obsessed with these days. Styled by Devki B, the actor chose to play it safe by letting her hair down and keeping her make-up minimal yet fresh.

On another occasion, she chose to go à la Mandira Bedi in a rich pink suit from Mayyur R Girotra Couture. She paired the beautiful noodle strap suit with a simple set of studded neck-piece and earrings from ANAQA By Nishant Tulsiani. In Kolkata to promote her upcoming film which also stars Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez, the ‘Pink’ actor’s look seemed quite in sync with the City of Joy’s current festive mood.

Styled by Devki, she tied her hair up in a messy bun and highlighted her eyes with kohl. We think she looked lovely!

Haute couture gowns might be all the rage at red carpet events these days, but there is nothing as elegant as a sari. How much ever you try to keep up with the latest trends, there’s a chance you might go wrong trying to make an impact. But here’s the thing, you can never go wrong with the six long yards. Recently, we saw our Bollywood beauties looking graceful in the traditional Indian-wear and we are more than happy. Take a look.

Quirky touch: At an event in Mumbai, Kangana Ranaut was seen in a beautiful blue sari with interesting dog motifs all over it. It’s interesting to see how this sari designed by her stylist Ami Patel in collaboration with Madhurya for their first joint collection ‘The First Saree’ steered away from traditional prints and, instead, went quirky. We think she looked absolutely lovely pairing her sari with jewellery from Jaipur Gems, an updo and soft make-up.

Soft and elegant: Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty was spotted in a pristine white sari by Mayyur Girotra with a glitter rose pattern running over the border. Now, this lady knows how to work her way around a sari and this time too, she didn’t disappoint us. We are in love with how she teamed it up with a striped pattern sleeveless blouse and styled it perfectly with pearl earrings and a gold clutch.

Floral beauty: Anushka Sharma picked a floral printed sari by Sabyasachi for an event which she teamed with a black open-back blouse, a beautiful wispy top bun and red lips. We think she looked lovely.

The power of applique: Recently, Taapsee Pannu shared a photo on her Instagram account where she was seen in a powder blue sari with a heavy floral lazer cut applique border by Archana Rao. The actress complemented her look with a bindi, a pair of earrings and an updo. Not much to fault here, she looked beautiful.
