So here is a trip
I took an anthro class and we dealt with identifying primate skulls, including those of australopithocines and the parathropus genus, of which I can only recall megadont teeth and nuchal crest at the moment. It was very cool. I suggest taking a class like this if you like biology and/or history.
However, it did leave me many times wondering this exact question:
WHOSE FUCKING ANCESTOR'S SKULL AND/OR MANDIBLE AM I HOLDING IN MY FUCKING HANDS???
These are our genetic ancestors. Someone, somewhere, is related to the poor specimen that was DROPPED ON THE FLOOR and NEARLY BROKE.
I hope that it was the person who dropped the skull. Letting down their family millions of years later.
