This is the first flower of ‘Munstead Wood‘ a David Austin rose creation, blooming in my new garden here in Austin! Our hot spring has bleached the usually dark deep velvety crimson/burgundy blooms to a much lighter crimson red color but nonetheless I am over the moon that it finally started to flower. This English Rose comes with an enchanting strong Old Graden Rose fragrance that makes it even more alluring. So far it is pretty healthy and I am really expecting great things from it in the future! This is the first bloom on my Memorial Day own root rose. It’s very fragrant and I’m so happy it seems be doing well in a pot on our balcony. I read in the @heirloom_roses instructions that the blooms will be smaller at first so I can’t wait to see how this beauty will grow! I’ve only had it for about a month and it was two stems in a small planter when I first potted it.
