L'Interpol ha chiesto formalmente a Pechino notizie del presidente dell'Organizzazione internazionale della polizia criminale, Meng Hongwei, scomparso dal 29 settembre. Secondo il quotidiano South China Morning Post, Meng, 64 anni, primo cinese a diventare presidente dell’Interpol, sarebbe stato preso in consegna non appena atterrato in Cina la settimana scorsa. "Ci aspettiamo risposte ufficiali dalle autorità cinesi in merito alle nostre preoccupazioni", si legge in un comunicato dell'Interpol. La moglie, che ha denunciato la scomparsa il 4 ottobre, ha perso i contatti con lui dal 25 settembre giorno il cui Meng doveva partire per la Cina. A indagare sulla sparizione è la polizia francese, dato che il quartier generale dell’Interpol si trova a Lione, in Francia, dove la moglie di Meng ha fatto denuncia.
