Honestly I'm glad people are finally realizing Glam isn't a nice person. I am tired of people fucking. Underestimating him and saying he's such a "polite little uwu." Although. The show making you like him at first is definitely on purpose. Bc that's like. Almost mirroring the fact he's manipulative. Keep in mind he's not doing it out of malicious intent, the challenge here is remembering his past and understanding why he's doing what he's doing while holding him accountable. That's the whole point. He's a complex... Human being. It's valid for your view of Glam to be tainted but uh... Welcome to the real Metal Family. He's always been like this. Go back and watch the old episodes with this in mind. Like. The escape room episode and how he manipulates Vicky. Is it a cute moment? Or is it toxic? Hm? Personally this makes me love Glam even more bc I'd much rather a flawed human being, it gives us more to play with and work with, y'know?

Pov: the fandom after watching the new episode and trying to hold in their tears

so i don’t usually engage in The Discourse™  but i’ve seen a lot of unsettling takes in the wake of the new metal family episode across all social medias and i wanna talk about it! note that this obviously isn’t about anyone in particular, just a general vibe/consensus i’ve picked up on.

so the most prevalent thing i’ve seen since the episode came out is a lot of discourse debating who was ‘worse’ between glam and ches in the newest episode; the words ‘toxic’, ‘manipulation’ and ‘abuse’ have been thrown around pretty loosely and i think maybe people are taking this scene as emblematic of their entire relationship.

ches is grieving. ches is in withdrawal. this offer for them, their band, is the only silver lining in what’s otherwise been a horrible, traumatic time for him, the darkest of his entire life. through it all, glam’s been by his side and suddenly, that’s being wrenched from him. suddenly, glam’s prioritising something over their music. over them. 

and of course ches is heartbroken! and he has every right to be hurt and angry. he did NOT have the right to start throwing bottles and misogynistic insults instead of speaking to glam on a reasonable level.

glam is...in love. at least, he thinks so. and to ches (and most of the viewing audience), this is an INCREDIBLY superficial thing for him to abandon their friendship for. but to glam? he’s never felt this way before. romance is an entirely alien concept to him. and he’s so overwhelmed by this exciting, fresh new feeling that suddenly he’s locked onto it, much in the same way he entirely fixated onto the guitar when he first discovered it. glam’s early life was so devoid of happiness and pleasure that, in the way ches uses substances, he immediately drops everything to chase the high.

when glam rejects attending the interview, i don’t think he sees it as abandoning their friendship. mere days ago, glam shirked his life’s dream for ches. because the people in his life are more important to him than fame. the business side of their music is simply not a priority.

glam views this interview as an interview. ches views this interview as their future.

glam shouldn’t have slapped ches. ches shouldn’t have gotten physically threatening by smashing things. 

some people have said that glam’s speech to ches is an intentional manipulation on his part; an attempt to remind him of everything he’s done for him. but glam simply isn’t that type of person. he’s acutely aware of how much ches has done for him, and how they’ve always supported each other. that’s why glam asks if ches really wants to go to the interview. it highlights the difference in their priorities. but BECAUSE they’ve always been together, ches sees it as glam choosing a woman over HIM, and not glam choosing a woman over advancing his musical career. 

i have so much more to say but the TL;DR is that both ches and glam are extremely traumatised people at the most turbulent, confusing points of their lives, and in that confusion, they lashed out at each other. 

this is not a pattern. this is an exception, and neither person should be painted as overall abusive for one incident in which their worst selves were on display. their actions in this moment SHOULD be condemned, but not treated as representative of their entire dynamic.

So vil my buddy vil pointed out how fucking. Everyone talks about how much Glam needs Ches, but no one talks about how Ches needs Glam. Until today. As y'all have seen... CHES CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT GLAM. LITERALLY. Like. The way he acts so differently during the parallel after-party scene. He doesn't try to rizz his way to some girl. He just. Talks to her. Vents. Seemingly. Uninterested in getting with her. And the way he hesitated to do a line. He looks at it almost as if he knows what's gonna happen. He knows that it may very well kill him. And then after great thought, he goes through with it. That is all to say. That was a suicide attempt. these bitches gay. Good night.

I know glam is probably just blinded by his distractions but out of context this is just hilarious, bro really said

"Yeah I'm choosing hoes before bros your point??"

I noticed this and I think it's supposed to be a parallel between this do and the guitar episode where Dee wanted to learn guitar but walked away from glam and his office instead, I've noticed people walking away/leaving glam is an ongoing thing within this show, which honestly makes me start to wonder if glams chosen family will also leave him (⁠・⁠_⁠・⁠;⁠)

Ok I feel like this is going to be ignored if I don't say it so can we just talk about how glam was Lowkey manipulative towards ches in this scene? Guilt tripping him to stay and basically saying "I was here for you when you weren't competent to do so, be grateful and let me do what I want with no problem" and he even showed a lack of care when ches did decide to leave him?? Really make syou question just how much glam actually cares about ches because this whole scene shocked me, how glam acted was just so so toxic in my opinion

also his petty/tired eyes are so gorgeous omfgggg

I CAN'T HIM PREDICTING THE FUTURE AND THE UPMOST UNINTENDED SHADE TOWARDS HEAVY OMFFFFHHGGGG DBHBXFH

"call and win or fold and continue to Play" this absolutely indicates his ongoing battle between choosing his closet friend (glam) or his rockstar life, he's debating internally whether to call glam or not but knows its no use especially since to him glam subconsciously left him behind, him driving away was what he left glam was doing to him, leaving, walking away, he "folds" meaning he chooses to go back to his dangerous lifestyle and continue on with his self destructive (and as we've seen) even deadly habits and behaviors

The lights matching the drums in this scene makes it all even more heart wrenching :,,,(

(also realizing maybe those beats were supposed to symbolize his heart beat starting back up??)

I feel like the bar scene and this tie in perfectly, his mother says he showed everyone "he won" (when in reality he was rich, successful, famous, but not rightfully loved or showed his love towards the last person he cared about) he knows he hasn't won because he hasn't called yet, how hasn't he called?
