DP2/Week3

I updated my site plan and drew some sections across the site to show the varying topography around the site (new residential build, sloping path leading to the bridge, motorway).

Used Metaspace to construct a 3D scan of the site (only for part of it as I couldn't get round the back of the site). I looked at Marcel Duchamp (Etant Donnes, Bride Stripped Bare, his theory of the readymade...) and the idea of a sculptural assemblage as a stage of sorts with the site being the 'set'. I used the scans (in plan and perspective) as a starting point for a language based on lighting and movement/accessibility.

For next week: intersection of elements within the site, introduce the idea of parallax into the site, working with hidden spaces and objects, relationships between solid&void, space & non-space, thinking about what the timeline of the site is, revealing by colour coding different 'characters' at the site and seeing how they cut each other, shadows'. References were: Projective Cast book, Manhattan transcripts, Mike Webb drawings, Matthew Springett models

I need to construct a detailed timeline of exactly what's happened in and around the site over time (squatter settlement, art gallery, social centre) from an environmental, urban and historical point of view to be able to bring this attributes into this project. At the moment the site's only intriguing because of its inaccessibility and interesting topography.

NFT in conjunction with the meta-universe, PFP as incarnation and equipment

Decentraland is an excellent representation of the NFT meta-universe. Users can run around in the vast virtual space, take in the landscape from a variety of perspectives, and visit buildings with a variety of appearances and functions.

The Sandbox, Decentraland, Cryptovoxels, Worldwide Webb, NFT Worlds, Atlantis World, and Aavegotchi are just a few of the projects covered by BeepNews statistics.

The dramatical change has occurred throughout the Art world. The change of the maker(artist), the distribution(dealer,curator), venue(gallery) and also the customers(viewers). It’s because of the innovation, called the iPhone.

“The function of the biennial format has clearly become more mnemonic than predictive, more a retrospective than a preview. Art is no longer discovered in biennale and fairs and magazines but on the phone. as the Whitney Biennial demonstrated in 2012.

Since now it is so normal to receive art through the screens of the phone, there are trends in the makings in the art that fulfills this contemporary conditions. In painting the unsaturated pastels, off-whites, and especially grays started to impact the scene. They are called as “anti-gestural” or “Subtractive”. In sculpture, the surrealist object has returned. Juxtapositions are made in hues and adopts light from neon. This is called as “Post Net” art or “meme art”.

Our present, specific media condition. evokes a visual trend that is artworks that are purposely made to be catching on the screen.

Since the dealers or curators and moreover the viewers are now using this specific media, the works functions as a kind of meta site-specific idea. That considers the screen itself as a metaspace.

Since the phone is the new technology that again, brings the exhibition value.

And moreover, now there are fainted boundaries among the environment of the art world.

Because they are sharing the same element to visualize and perceive art. which is the phone.
