i love eugene & i love gram, but it really sucks that the gramblack set-up introduced early on made the gramgene storyline feel out of place... which is just so odd since the audience has seen a handful of interactions between gram & eugene that point to gram's feelings for her (e.g. the kiss after her fight with black). but since gramblack was even a remote possibility (and let's just pretend it still is 🤡) the gramgene interactions become sidelined for an anticipated Bigger Picture moment for black & gram's reunion. i guess the show is subverting the bl trope of "in love with my bff who has a gf" but subsequently falling into the ever familiar trope of "in love with my bff's gf" 😔 none of the three characters have really had proper spotlights on them, so there's still a lot of potential!!! so much to address!!!! like, why did eugene have a panic attack during her interpretive dance? was it only her dancing that drew gram to eugene? was gram closer to black before black started dating her? why did black begin dating eugene in the first place? also WHERE IS BLACK?????
