"When editing, I placed the most importance of trying to grasp the dynamic balance among the delicate elements such as the details of the hair, the hair colour, the movements and expressions of the models in order to have the audience instinctively feel the pleasant energy. It was truly a great collaboration effort between the team who granted us this opportunity to work together, Ricardo, Maya and Sei, as well as the director Maruyama. Kudos to everyone!" -Aki

Akiは 今年Ad Stars にてEditing部門唯一の ゴールドとブロンズの W受賞です！！おめでとうございます！！

Dictionary Films Tokyoより、Diesel "The Walls" をお届けします！ 去年カンヌで Dictionay Films Tokyo のエグゼクティブプロデューサーの ピーター が AOI Pro. 加藤久哉さんと登壇して以来、常にコラボレートすることを熱望していた中、今回ついにそれが実現。若手監督 Conner Gilhoolyがチームに加わり、タブーの壁を壊しながら、Cuttersのアーティストも総出で納得のいくまで楽しみながら意見をぶつけ合いました。

映像を通して私たちのメッセージが伝われば嬉しいです！

In our age of uncertainty, we are plagued by overwork, prejudice, and loneliness–can we protect ourselves from these deep cultural malaises if we build even more walls around us? Will they only keep us further apart?

Or, what if we tore them down entirely, and learned to love and respect one another regardless of religious belief, gender, sexual identity, age?

Since Executive Producers Peter Grasse (Dictionary Films Tokyo) and Hisaya Kato (AOI Pro)’s joint talk at Cannes last year, the two have been waiting for an opportunity to collaborate, and they found the perfect moment in Diesel’s Make Love Not Walls campaign.

With the vision of up and coming director Connor Gilhooly, alongside the Cutters Studios Tokyo creative team, this spot boldly engages in the unfamiliar and works towards dismantling notions of who we are ‘allowed' to love.

We hope this film sparks the kinds of cultural conversations that this film seeks to contribute to, and are excited to hear what you think!

"This is the first time in my filmmaking career that I’ve had this much freedom in creative input in crafting commercial work as an editor. We had numerous discussions, each very lively, and played around with as many edits as we possibly could. We specifically wanted to capture what we understood to be the rhythm of 2017 through the edit, and did not stop editing until we achieved that. It was a true privilege and honor to have the chance to work with these immensely talented filmmakers." -Aki

"For this grade, I went all out and worked to craft a brazen image and electric feel. We came out with a powerfully chaotic spot, and I’m excited for viewers to feel the energy of the piece."
