“This is where I take my leave, darling. I’ve left a breakfast of fruit and waffles sitting on the kitchen counter. Thank you again for a wonderful night. I truly love you with all that I am. Have a wonderful day, my sweet princess.
- Love, Tetsu.”
People liked to poke fun at the way Kuroo spoke. They’d joke he sounded like an old man, but only you saw that your boyfriend really spoke like a prince.
Whenever he’d stay over and throw you around your bedroom like a ragdoll for hours and hours--whispering dirty things in your ear while he made you feel wonderful--he’d leave a note. It’d always be short and sweet, but it’d drip with love in a way you couldn’t explain. You knew there wouldn’t be much more time until you could see him again, and any other man wouldn’t care nearly as much about the little things, but Kuroo always went the extra mile.
He left early on Saturday mornings, even after a night of less than savory action. Practice began at eight in the morning, and he knew you liked to sleep in. The absence of a tall, black haired boy in your bed didn’t bother you too much though, because you knew you’d be in his arms later. It was 10:36 when you finally woke up. The sun sent streams of light through your baby pink curtains and into your eyes, showing the state of the room you were in. The clothes you and your boyfriend had worn yesterday were strewn about the space, mingling with chairs and lampshades and anything they could possibly hang off of.  You sat up in bed, holding the blanket on top of you close to your neck to retain some warmth in your naked body.
You remembered you had plenty of time, as you weren’t meeting Kuroo until five, and went to get dressed. After throwing on the shirt Kuroo had thrown to your floor, you walked to the kitchen in pursuit of the breakfast he set out for you. The waffles were covered in powdered sugar and strawberries, just the way you liked them. You practically inhaled the food, scrolling through things on your phone as you ate as well as after you were done.
You drew a bath for yourself, noticing some new love bites and bruises that adorned your skin in an almost poetic way. You massaged rose-scented shampoo into your hair while some Jeremy Messersmith music played softly in the background, providing a tranquil, happy energy that danced around the room.
After your bath, another note from your lovely flirt of a boyfriend came into view. It dangled from the hanger of a dress you don’t typically wear. It showed off your figure a little bit, but left a lot to the imagination. The sleeves puffed at the top, cinching around your bicep, and the bodice outlined the shape of your chest. It was black and had a pattern of small red roses.
“Wear this dress, kitten. It looks darling on you :)
<3 Tetsu”
You put it on, zipping the side carefully and looking at yourself in the mirror. After being satisfied with how it looked, you proceeded to blow dry your hair and style it in the way it naturally falls; that worked best with the dress. After deciding on the shoes, which happened to be a pair of black boots, you left your house, driving to the place you were to meet Kuroo.
“Hello, my dear.” Kuroo wore a black suit without a tie. The top two buttons were opened just enough to see his collarbones and some of his chest, as he knew that was all you needed to see for your heart to swoon ever so slightly. He grabbed your hand, lifting it to his mouth and kissing the back of it lightly. “How are you doing?”
You looked deeply into his hazel eyes, remembering the way they looked so menacingly into yours last night. It was enough to take your breath away. “I’m lovely. How was practice?”
“Just fine, kitten. I see you saw my note.” He grabbed your hand and put it in the air, asking you to do a little spin with the way his hand moved your arm. “You look beautiful.”
The two of you walked to a restaurant with your fingers interlocked, exchanging light conversation about your mornings. When you got there, Kuroo mentioned your reservation to the hostess and you sat down. You ordered a Shirley Temple for yourself to drink, giggling slightly at your decision. He got water.
“I’ve to say this once more darling, you look ravishing.” He grabbed your hand from the other side of the table. “I really won with you, huh?”
You blushed, “Maybe so.”
The rest of the night was spent with laughter and light chatter, both of you being able to talk endlessly about anything. He’d tell you about volleyball and something one of his teammates did as you talked about your friends and something absurd that happened to you. You’d giggle and be happy, because he made you happier than anyone ever could. After finishing the fancy, expensive dinner he treated you to, you both proceeded back to his home, watching a movie on the couch. Every once in a while, when the plot seemed to die down, he’d lean over and plant a kiss on your forehead or your lips. The occasional kisses made your body heat up and yearn for more, but that could wait. Everything was comfortable and perfect in your eyes, and your boyfriend would have to agree. He was perfect, and so were you. Everything was perfect. He was with you, and he made you feel like a princess. He was your prince, and nothing could ever change that.
