By far the oldest of all mutants, bellworms are large and slow-moving beings that possess high levels of intelligence and ancient knowledge about the old world. Although highly social, it is more common to see solitary bellworms as their kind dies out. they spend their lives underground drilling long and complex expanses of tunnels, many of which now sit empty. smaller, more opportunistic species such as cockroaches and silverfish make their homes in these abandoned caverns, enjoying higher levels of humidity and shelter from harsh sunlight. These nomadic communities worship bellworms, and they are ingrained deeply into their stories and culture. the lonely songs of the last remaining bellworms can be heard echoing underground for tens of hundreds of miles, and they are so spread so far apart that one bellworm may never hear any song other than its own.
