This my friends is a Microsoft Surface Book running Windows 10 Pro. Why am I posting this you ask? Because people often ask, what's your set up as a photographer. That's what this post is about. So this is what I use on a day-to-day basis to run my photography business: Camera Kit: - Camera: Panasonic Lumix G7, GX8 and soon G9 - Lenses: Panasonic 20mm f1.7, 25mm f1.7, 42.5mm f1.7 and the Olympus 12-60mm f2.8-4 4/3 lens w/ a Commlite 4/3-MFT adapter Laptop/Tablet/Monitor: - Microsoft Surface Book (16GB RAM/256GB SSD) - Microsoft Surface Book (serves as both laptop and tablet) - Two 28" HD Monitors (essentially have 3 monitors if you include my laptop) Editing Software (I don't use any Adobe products, CC subscriptions are silly) - Desktop: Affinity Photo (Photoshop alternative) - Desktop: Darktable (Opensource Lightroom alternative, Windows and Linux) - Desktop: Davinci Resolve 15 (Premiere alternative, Windows and Linux) - Mobile: Snapseed, BlackCam Pro, Airbrush, VSCO (Android) - Presets: Nik Collections and various Adobe compatible LUTS and Presets that work with Affinity Photo and Darktable Office Productivity: - Microsoft Office 365 (Yearly subscription, worth every penny) - Honeybook, Thumbtack, and a few other online services to find leads for business - Dropbox (Cloud back for all my raw and edited photos) Wishlist: - Desktop for Video & Photo Editing: 32GB/2TB SSD/Nvidia running Mint Linux w/ DaVinci Resolve 15 and Darktable - Storage: 6TB NAS - Software: It may seem like a lot but it's not.
