honestly even if he had the most boring fights in the whole game i just love beating the shit out of thordan bc of the way he goes WHAT every now and again in response to being smacked around

more bosses need to react audibly to the fact you are hitting them in their weak spots for massive damage, tbh. it is very satisfying

....ffvods now lets you jump directly to deaths (once you've set up the inital pull offset). which when you're trying to diagnose if you murdered someone or not is extremely helpful!

having killed the accessories EX and seen all the mechs for the weapons one, im. gonna be honest? i like them mechanically, but. the accessories fight has a lot of visual spam during certain phases that make the fight fucking awful to try to read. like i don't dislike the mechanics themselves and i already have party fx turned down as low as they go without deleting bubbles entirely and its just. not awesome

the weapon ex is less terrible on that front, and has more rng elements to it which i like a lot. not much, it's only an ex after all, but some at least.

also the fights only give one totem which. everything bar mom and dad dropping two spoiled me, i guess.

but hey. i out dps'd a pair of melees with the 710 weapon and current materia while using the 700 one melded with ew materia (im cheap, fight me), and i got the orc roll thingy, so. who's the real winner here, huh

down side: ultimate static is now on break for xmas, without getting dat clear but we've not gotten to adds clean Once so not big surprise. everything before octet is clean though, so. i might meme around in pf to not rust but i might also just. not. expecially since pf is probably going to be slower than usual bc, you know, holidays

up side: the party drg told me last night that my burst is so good i make a viable eye partner over the smn despite smn being Fucking Cracked at 70 (which.i can reliably get a triple combo under pot on nael opener and double on all bahamut opens/reopens) so. yay trying to open with triple on the big man is Theoretically Possible but requires flawless gcding and i'd rather not risk a finisher ghosting so

potentially got one more crit session before xmas but it depends on availability and shit. and like we're still on the second boss so it's like. whatever

despite all the shitty drama i Experienced this year i feel p good about it overall. killed my first ult, murdered two statics, kneecapped an fc, curbstomped mothwife on patch, acquired Big Fish and won a house. highly productive year all round :D

oh, okay. the tomestone weapons still have fucking. skill speed for tanks at 640/660. it's only at 665 that they change the stat distribution to be the same as savage weapons

since the tier is dead, my savage static took a vote and we're having a bash at some ultimates. i think everyone in the group bar one of the healers has at least one down, and. even disregarding that, it's nice to have a group where i a mwilling to step foot into ultimates with them :P lmao

but we started on ucob tonight and killed twin within half an hour. it's progging nael again for the nth time but we saw to dives a few times. seeing the big man again before patch would be nice but honestly im just happy to be progging an ult with a group i trust to not be shit

unrelated but it occured to me this morning while trying to avoid waking up that of all the people from the cursed uwu static, i'm also the only one who's killed the current tier. of the six of us who were left by the finish, two have gotten to p11 with seperate statics, one skipped the tier entirely, one killed p9 once in week 2 then apparently gave up, and one killed 9+10 twice early in the tier then seemingly gave up.

like. yeah. my parses are horrible (some of that because my previous static liked playing murder the rdm, some of that because i haven;t upgraded my tome weapon, some is just personal fuckups) but man. the tier is dead. funnily enough it's the ones who treated me like shit who gave up one or two fights in, too (and, again, using guides as opposed to blind progging). like. not to be arrogant but.

not that im really surprised by how things have shaken out honestly, it just. amuses me. likely more than it should.
