Go follow @invisiblepeople I started Invisible People with $45, a dinky camera, and a laptop that could not edit video. I saw firsthand how the homeless sector was disconnected from homeless people and the public held onto harmful beliefs, so I started to take tangible actions to educate people. Today we produce mini-docs, video journalism, and now short scripted films. Our YouTube channel had 137 million views in the last year and is soon to reach one million subscribers. And all that is just on our video storytelling programs. We also publish original news on homelessness five to seven days a week via our website and Apple News and Google News. Tomorrow we hire our second employee. Three weeks ago we hired our first employee - me. When I get back to LA, we hope to hire our third employee. What this means is we are finally in a place where we can scale our impact to reach more people to educate them on homelessness. And it's all thanks to people just like you that help to support our important work educating the public on homelessness. ________________ Finding a safe place to sleep is always challenging. Here we see Lydia being brutally awakened by a neighborhood resident. If the cops caught her, she would get a ticket she can’t pay and eventually lose the car. We see how homelessness is criminalized.
Another preview clip from our film “Mobile,” a partnership between @invisiblepeople and High-Toned Entertainment soon to be released on our YouTube channel.
