Do you have any plans or ideas for The Felt/Fuzz in your stabdads mobswitch thing?

i have a few plans, though truthfully i haven't thought too hard about them since i was mostly focused on trying to hammer down the relationships between the scoundrels and their kids + the detectives and their kids. but i have a pretty good idea about how they are, so ive been able to start picking at the felt/the fuzz.

as usual, they're corrupt cops who often get in the way of the detectives and the scoundrels alike. the majority of them truly do think they're a force for good, though they aren't a totally united front.

crowbar, for example, will deal with the scoundrels and is solely out for himself and the members of the fuzz that he's closest too. the higher numbers also tend to be more on the scoundrel's side than anything. on the other side, itchy and the lower numbers are more likely to assist the detectives because they don't really like how things are run.

sn0wman is also lowkey on the detective's side, though scout thinks she's a turncoat who sided with the scoundrels.

i'm still kind of fleshing them out (mostly doc scratch and lord english because i'm struggling to figure out where they fit into this whole thing) and i'm totally open to suggestions or thoughts regarding them.

Non built a mobswitch from the shulker farm and it accidentally killed All mobspawns in a 14-chunk radius around the base (including our creeper farm)

I think the reason Tango's use of a localized mob switch for the nether hub and later docs localized mob switch for the tunnel bore, RIP tunnel bore, were accepted is because they weren't a full on mobswitch proper built on the edge of spawn with 500 shulkers in minecarts, but small local mobswitches designed to specifically address a single problem each: prevent ghasts from destroying the hub too often so tango could focus-up on decked out 2 and prevent creepers from destroying doc's tunnel bore so grian and scar could destroy it instead.

If Doc had built a full on 500 shulkers in minecarts mobswitch proper, it probably would been rejected outright (or by majority vote anyway: we've no idea what goes on in those meetings and I'm not one to speculate on who has which opinions because down that road lay madness), same as the sand dupinator 9000 is currently being.

I think offering to scale back the effiency of the machine so that its rates feel more similar to the effiency of a normal mob farm (not a bonkers stacking raid farm, but like, a quad cave spider spawner, or a decent gunpowder farm) than a 100% maximum no-chill 'why not play creative' duping machine, could potentially get more hermits on board with the idea of sand duping.

This is of just me parasocially speculating about shit cause I ain't know any of the hermits personally.

I think the most obvious compromise, re: sand duping, is to throttle the sand dupinator 9000's output to match, at most, half the expected per hour output of someone manually gathering sand by devastating a couple dozen desert biomes.

That way, you're still grinding, and the scale at which you can build restrained by the amount of grind you can do, and it'd be more efficient to actively go to a desert if you're able (meaning duping is just like standing at a mob farm), as to not allow scope of project scale to explode beyond meaningfully finite resources. All you're doing under this by duping throttled paradima is shifting the sand gathering grind from an active ruination of a biome to a passive, but less item effiecent, AFKing around the sand duper.

And wanting to be around the throttled sand duper more often (because you need more hours to get to that promised scale of 100% maximum no-chill) makes decorating it more appealing, both because it makes afking at it more enjoyable and because it'd be more meaningful to get some hours running the dupper in while decorating the surrounding area.

I'm writing some little mobswitch stabdad drabbles, and maybe a full fic or fanadventure at some point, and decided to do a story of cover art for the au in general.

Kind of aiming for a 80s/90s synthwave horror vibe for the overall vibe.

Obviously, instead of the beta trolls this stabdads au focuses on the dancestors, namely the ones front and center.
