Denver Painters
Tumblr media
Painting your home can be a transformative experience, refreshing its appearance and adding value to your property. Whether you're considering a full interior makeover or freshening up the exterior, the decision to hire professional Denver painters versus attempting a DIY project is crucial. While DIY painting may seem cost-effective at first glance, the benefits of hiring experienced painters in Denver far outweigh the initial savings. Let's delve into why opting for professional painters is not just about the quality of the finish, but also about saving time, ensuring safety, and achieving long-term durability.
The Expertise and Experience Advantage
One of the most compelling reasons to hire professional Denver painters is their expertise and experience. Professional painters bring a wealth of knowledge regarding paint types, surface preparation, and application techniques that are essential for achieving a flawless finish. They understand the nuances of different surfaces, from drywall to wood and stucco, ensuring that each material is treated appropriately for optimal results.
Experienced painters can also offer valuable advice on color selection and paint quality, helping you choose finishes that not only enhance your home's aesthetic appeal but also provide durability and longevity. Their attention to detail minimizes mistakes and ensures that the final result meets or exceeds your expectations.
Time Savings and Efficiency
Painting an entire home, whether inside or out, is a time-consuming task that requires careful planning and execution. DIY projects often stretch over weeks or even months, disrupting your daily routine and causing unnecessary stress. In contrast, professional Denver painters work efficiently, completing projects in a fraction of the time it would take an amateur.
Their streamlined process includes thorough preparation, precise application, and efficient cleanup, allowing you to enjoy the freshly painted space sooner without sacrificing quality. This efficiency is particularly beneficial for larger homes or projects that involve intricate details or high ceilings, where professional equipment and techniques can significantly speed up the painting process.
Quality Materials and Tools
Another advantage of hiring Denver painters is access to high-quality materials and specialized tools. Professional painters invest in premium paints, primers, and finishes that offer superior coverage, color retention, and resistance to fading or cracking over time. They also have access to equipment such as airless sprayers, rollers, and brushes designed for specific surfaces and applications, ensuring a smooth and professional-looking finish.
Using the right tools and materials not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your home but also contributes to its overall durability and maintenance. Professional painters know how to properly prepare surfaces, apply paint evenly, and address any underlying issues such as mold or mildew, safeguarding your investment for years to come.
Safety and Risk Mitigation
Painting can involve working at heights, handling chemicals, and managing potentially hazardous materials. Professional Denver painters are trained in safety protocols and industry standards, reducing the risk of accidents or injuries during the painting process. They use proper scaffolding, ladders, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure their safety and that of your property and occupants.
Moreover, professional painters carry liability insurance and adhere to local regulations and environmental guidelines when disposing of paint residues and cleaning up after the job. This commitment to safety and compliance provides peace of mind, knowing that your home is in capable hands throughout the painting project.
Long-Term Cost Savings
While DIY painting may seem cost-effective initially, the long-term savings of hiring professional Denver painters often outweigh the upfront expenses. Professional painters deliver a durable, high-quality finish that requires less frequent repainting and maintenance, saving you time and money in the long run. Their expertise in surface preparation and paint application ensures that your investment withstands the test of time, maintaining its aesthetic appeal and value.
Conclusion
Choosing to hire professional Denver painters offers numerous advantages over attempting a DIY painting project. From expertise and efficiency to quality materials and safety compliance, professional painters bring unparalleled value to your home improvement endeavors. By investing in professional painting services, you not only achieve superior results but also save time, reduce risks, and ensure long-term durability for your property. Whether you're refreshing your interior spaces or enhancing your home's curb appeal, entrusting the job to experienced painters in Denver is a decision that pays off in quality and peace of mind.

The Water Damage Restoration Process
When you call United Water Restoration group to come and help with water damage in your home or business, you can expect a full-service treatment. They work hard to ensure that they return everything to as close to the way it was before the damage as possible. The following are the seven steps of the process.

Some of the questions you may be asked include getting your contact information, your insurance information, the address of the damaged home or business, a short description of the situation and damage and whether there is electricity available.
They ask these questions so that our technicians can get right to work upon arrival. Don’t worry if you don’t know the full extent of the damage, they will do own inspection.
Step 2: Inspection and Assessment
During this step, technician(s) will arrive at your home or business and inspect the water damaged area. Our team members are expertly trained to thoroughly assess both the problem causing the water and the level of damage.
You can assist with this process by answering questions about plumbing, water shutoff valves and other aspects of your home or business. These are the elements of this water remediation step:
Assess Safety The first step is to ensure safety. In particular, they will determine if there is a risk of electrocution. If there is significant water and/or it is near electrical wiring, the technician may need to shut off the power to the area or structure. Additionally, if the damage is very severe, the technician may need to ensure that the area is structurally secure enough for work.
Identify Source Next, they will identify where the water is coming from. This includes stopping any additional water from entering the area by shutting it off.
Assess the Water Once the area is safe the water is shut off, the technician will examine the water. This includes determining whether the water is contaminated. This assessment determines some of the specifics of the remediation process.
Assess the Water Damage During this stage, the technician will also assess the extent of the damage. This includes checking for additional safety concerns such as lead or asbestos.
Other Inspections Finally, the technician will check for any situation-specific concerns. For example, he or she may identify and move any furniture that may cause rust stains on carpets.
Step 3: Water Removal
After the inspection, the next step is to remove the water. By thoroughly extracting the water, there technicians help to ensure that the drying process is faster and more complete. This is essential for minimizing the risk of mold and secondary water damage.
They use a combination of submersible pumps, industrial-strength wet vacuums, dehumidifiers and water analysis tools to ensure optimal performance. In addition to expertise, there access to proper equipment helps us to offer results that are simply not attainable through DIY or working with a non-specialist.
During this process, they also continue to perform inspections as they get greater access and a clearer picture of the damage. They work quickly to help minimize the risks associated with sitting water.
Step 4: Area Drying
Following the water removal, there is still the challenge of dampness soaked into walls, floors and furniture. Water retained in these can cause warping, swelling and other damage. Additionally, anything that is damp for an extended period can start to grow mold.
To combat this, they use industrial-strength dehumidifiers. They have specialized tools that can help us remove dampness from the air as well as from specific items such as floors and walls. Additionally, they constantly monitor the progress using specialized tools to ensure that the process is proceeding correctly.
Step 5: Cleaning
Once the affected area is dry, there is likely still some dirt, odor and microbes that need to be taken care of. This is especially true if the water was contaminated.
They will sanitize all affected areas using antimicrobial and antibacterial treatments. Most significant priority in water damage restoration is making sure the area is safe. Proper sanitization is a key part of them.
Additionally, they will assess all the affected items to determine what can be cleaned and restored. They try to save as much as possible using dry cleaning, wet cleaning, abrasive scrubs and more. When necessary, we will also dispose of refuse.
Step 6: Water Damage Mitigation
The final remediation step is to repair the damage caused by the water as much as possible. This should start right after the cleaning process is done. They are able to provide some repairs to minor building damage.
Additionally, technicians can help with emergency services such as boarding up, tarping, moving and fencing off affected areas and items.
A contractor may be required to repair more significant structural damage if it has occurred. They can help you find the right help and provide a detailed assessment to help ensure the success of rebuilding.
Step 7: Project Completion
Finally, they will conclude the project by making sure all your concerns about water damage are addressed. They will walk through the assessment and explain exactly what has been done.
Additionally, they will answer any questions you may have about what comes next. They know that water damage can be a stressful and concerning experience. So, they are committed to making it as easy as possible for you.

Black Cube Brings Matt Barton Installation “Community Forms” to TAXI Campus in Denver

Growing up, artist Matt Barton liked skateboarding. He selected it up beginning at the age of 6.
“What is the essence of skateboarding that I was attracted to from the time I was a little kid and I first saw it?” Barton asks. “Our societal norms become rules of how we move our bodies in public space. You’ve got walking, jogging, and then boom: There are total freak-like clowns on wheels that seem like they’re disrupting all those rules. That’s attractive to some kids, because that’s freedom.”
Black Cube, Denver’s nomadic contemporary art museum founded in 2015, is unveiling its first permanent art installation, “Community Forms,” developed by Barton, among Black Cube’s 2021 artist fellows. “Community Forms” takes motivation from Barton’s long-lasting love of skateboarding, and consists of abstract types that motivate celebration and play.
The setup remains in Globeville at the mixed-use TAXI school. The opening reception takes place Saturday, May 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. Black Cube representatives, select partners, and Barton himself will make remarks starting at 3 p.m. At 4 p.m., the community will enjoy an open skate.
“Community Forms” is the first project to be awarded a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant as part of a public-private partnership between FEMA and RedLine Contemporary Art Center which wishes to reduce disaster-related threats through art. In addition to supplying area for individuals to hang out, “Community Forms” lies right beside Colorado’s South Platte River and directs waterflow from the TAXI school into bioswales, grassy outlets that slow waterflow and avoid flooding.
Barton describes that formerly water from the website would drain pipes into one big downspout, which didn’t have a clear path to the South Platte. “We were able to design it in such a way that now we can take that water from the downspout dump right into this little snaking, meandering ditch, and then feed it through the larger part of the site with these bigger forms that guide it and take it further over into the ditch.”
“The sculpture shows a way to channel water,” says Black Cube Executive Director Cortney Stell. “It’s a novel solution to integrating infrastructure and community.
“Why think about just having ditches everywhere to mitigate floods?” she asks. “Or why just think about having a playground somewhere? Why not think about our environment more for multi-use and creative exploration? Infrastructure elements can be used for playscapes.”
The spirit of building forms that could be used creatively for a variety of purposes was important to Barton as he set out on this project. “I wanted to make a public art installation that created a social space and gatherings, that invited creative interpretation.” He includes that he was especially obliged by “non-prescriptive, behavioral forms designed on a human scale, for a human body to interact with.”
“The types are developed to welcome seating, reclining, relaxing,” he describes. “They’re kind of these organic landscape forms that look like how the water cuts through a canyon.”
Stell states that Barton’s piece recommendations land art, a conceptual art motion that was begun in the 1960s when artists took interest in molding land for their pieces.
As Barton surveyed the website and started work, he saw that kids at an outside academy throughout the method were gathered up versus the fence viewing them change the location. They asked when it would be done.
“That’s among the important things I’m most thrilled about seeing: these kids turned loose on the types, and simply exploring it,” Barton says. “That’s actually the spirit of the entire idea.”
The TAXI campus is a public campus, so “Community Forms” will be open to all. Barton prizes making art that is publicly accessible and that demands interactivity and participation.
Much of his work in the past has also been grounded in social practice, ”giving form to human social interactions and creating space for that to happen,” Barton says. “If it’s a unique environment, maybe it’ll trigger unique interactions. We have so many prescribed spaces; even public spaces with benches. It’s like: The benches are facing a certain way. You’re supposed to sit there and look that way. Even in our public space, we have so many views on how we’re supposed to behave.” Barton hopes his work disrupts these staid norms.
In this respect, Barton’s project is a perfect fit for Black Cube, which hopes to offer contemporary art to audiences in new and unexpected ways.
“Contemporary art has really become a white cube experience… and that’s become the normative way you experience contemporary art. It’s like, pluck a white cube anywhere — and it’s become the only way people see art,” Stell says. “We think those white cube experiences have become ostracizing to people who are not comfortable with museums. By literally bringing art to communities, we can produce the most rigorous, experimental museum-quality work — but communities and people can connect with it.”
Comparing “Community Forms” to his previous work, Barton is hopeful that it will stimulate even more natural engagement.
“There’s something about this that feels like the activation and interaction will be more organic and real,” Barton states. “It’ll have its own vitality.”
The opening reception for “Community Forms” will occur on Saturday, May 22, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the TAXI Campus, 3455 Ringsby Court. Participants can RSVP at this link.

When water damage strikes, it pays to be extremely careful when you clean it up. That’s because water damage can come in many forms, ranging from damage that only requires clean up and replacement of some non-structural elements of your home, to damage that can create mold or structural problems, not to mention other hazardous situations that need remediation.

Fixing Water-Damaged Hardwood Floors
Water and wood floors don’t mix. If you’ve got standing water on wood floors, you’ll need to act quickly to avoid further damage and dangerous mold and mildew growth.
Wood floors are rarely the same after significant water damage, but you can reduce repair costs with a few simple steps and a little elbow grease.
Special note: Flood waters can be riddled with dangerous pathogens, dirt, and organic matter that may cause irritation or illness. If the flood water source is unknown or the result of a sewer backup, you’ll need to call a water cleanup expert to avoid potential exposure.
Remove Water & Disinfect
Wood floors have several permeable access points: between seams, breaks in top coating, under baseboards, and through heating registers.
When wood gets wet it swells and cupping can set in. Cupping is easy to spot: the sides of the boards will bow above the center. In many cases, cupping is a sign that flooring will require replacement.
Your immediate response should be to remove as much standing water as possible, and then eliminate any dirt left behind. A shop vacuum is ideal for this job. Depending on the size of the area and what’s available, towels, mops, and squeegees may also be helpful.
Once a majority of the water has been cleaned from the floors, baseboards, and other woodwork, vigorously scrub the same areas with a dry brush or broom to loosen any dirt or debris that remains.
Next, the wood floors have to be cleaned and sanitized before the drying process can begin. There are several safe detergents to pick from; TSP All Purpose Heavy Duty Cleaner is inexpensive and available at amazon.com and at all home improvement stores.
Avoid soap-based (sudsy) cleaners, wax, or steam cleaners to disinfect your hardwood floors.
Mix your preferred detergent according to package directions. Wash the floor in sections to avoid further water damage. Apply the detergent mixture to all affected areas. Use the shop vacuum to remove residual water as you go.
The Drying Process
Even after all standing water has been removed, there’s still plenty of moisture left to cause damage. You’ll need a professional-grade dehumidifier to begin the drying process—a personal use dehumidifier will not suffice.
Most people don’t have a large dehumidifier on hand, so you’ll more than likely have to call around to rent this critical piece of equipment.
Arrange the dehumidifier in the center of the affected area; leave it running undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
To aid this process, arrange several large fans to encourage air flow. Direct the fans toward the floor—move them around as needed. If you have central AC, it won’t hurt to turn that on as well.
Depending on the weather outside, open the windows. Remember, the purpose of this step is to dehumidify. So, if humidity is high outside, open windows just a few inches.
The drying process can take weeks, depending on several factors. The only way to know it’s completely dry is to buy a moisture meter and test the affected areas. There are several moisture meters available at amazon.com.
