This #worldsmentalhealthday let's break the taboo to talk about depression, #postpartumdepression in particular. You, me or any woman who enters the motherhood phase is sure to have felt this. Be it the support from family, in-laws , the initial bonding with the baby, the recover from labor or latching or breastfeeding issues every mother is sure to undergo this at some point. But if you are stressed and depressed due to any of the above or anything else post your labor please feel free to talk about with fellow moms, your tribe or if you do have supportive family. Please be open of how you feel about yourself or if something is troubling you. There is nothing wrong in talking this out. This is not a disease or something that is to be ashamed of. If you are visiting a new mom please do take time to talk to her and appreciate that she is doing a good job. A little pat on the back never hurts instead would give her a boost.
