Xiaotian didn't really know what to do with all this fur that's become his new normal. He had enough trouble remembering to actually brush just the hair on his head once in a blue moon, growing up. That was even before he decided to cut it relatively short and keep it that way! Now the universe expected him to do the same with, like, everywhere else on his body? Impossible.
Besides, he didn't like how the bristles of most brushes felt. Granted, now instead of just his head he's covered entirely in a tangled mess of fur, buuut... it was fine!
Well, it was fine until Wukong finally had enough one afternoon. The living room quickly became the setting for a Scooby-Doo style chase scene, because he did NOT want to be subjected to the monkey grooming him. Partially because doesn't know where those hands have been, and also because... well. Well he's not really sure why else he's making his mentor chase him around like they're something straight out of a cartoon.
Wukong does, of course, catch him eventually. It was his house after all. He knew the layout better than Xiaotian did. The following moments are accompanied with a lot of whining and squirming from the teenager, but there's not much he can do to dislodge a Wukong that's comfortably perched on his shoulders with his tail holding him in place.
"Yeesh, you'd think I was going to do something worse than fixing the poor state your hair's in. No, but seriously, kid, do you like never comb or something?" Wukong's hands are immediately met with so. many. knots. It's a miracle MK doesn't seem to have any pests nesting in his fur somewhere. "...Y'know what, don't answer that. I didn't think I'd have to go full salon treatment on you."
"Aw, c'mon, it's not that bad--"
"Kid. You're covered in actual mats."
That sounds like a bad thing. It probably is, considering how Wukong pointedly tugs (gently) on a painfully clumped together section of fur. Xiaotian yelps, and vainly tries wriggling out of the older monkey's hold. He doesn't get anywhere. But he does sigh and forces himself to relax into a slumped pile of messy fur and lanky limbs.
They were resigned to their fate of a very long night being told to stay still while Wukong worked his monkey magic. The absolute worse -- sitting still, that is. They don't actually mind the grooming part, now that they're actually experiencing it. There's just a lot more hair to deal with, than any of the other impromptu grooming sessions, that's all. Kinda wild to think about how monkeys have to groom all this hair all the time.
Or at least, more than Xiaotian is used to managing by himself? Not that he ever spent much time on his hair to begin with. Although, monkeys spend more time grooming each other than themselves, don't they? Huh. He wonders why that is.
He's quickly loosing his train of thought. Why was he being so difficult about being sat down for a grooming session, again?
Yeah, about an hour in and Xiaotian is passing out.
