Least favorite trope:

Character has a meaningful and well thought-out, very emotional fight against a powerful enemy that helps fleshing them out, further their story and is generally a very satisfying fight that leaves them completely spent and unable to fight anymore.

After the main character arrives to witness the aftermath, said enemy recovers/transforms so that they're back in the ring and the main character can finish them off, effectively wasting everything the side character did until then. All for the sake of giving one more win to the main character.

#this is definitely because of power scaling bros that cant phantom a side character taking out an opponent that is too strong #or just because everyone wants to see some MC wanking #this is mostly an anime problem #what ruins 90% of shounen imo #anime #anime tropes #even though what triggered this was actually reading omniscient reader's viewpoint #more specifically Indra vs Yoo Joonghyuk #i dont even LIKE him and yet #Indra recovering to be taken out by Kim Dokja is shit #honestly i like orv but they do things to wank KDJ a little too much
