~~~ "Will this serve?" Morpheus asks, gesturing around the vast white room he has created. In the center sits a glass desk with an Alienware x17 R2 gaming laptop with a 12th-generation Intel core processor i9-12900HK with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti video card, a 17.3" UHD 3840x2160 120Hz non-touch Advanced Optimus ComfortView Plus NVIDIA G-SYNC display, and an Alienware CherryMX ultra-low profile mechanical keyboard with per-key AlienFX lighting.

"This is perfect, my love!" you cry, throwing your arms around his skinny giraffe-like neck. "Thank you so much, Dream."

Morpheus carefully extracts himself from your arms, recusing himself to a safe distance. "What did you need the computer for, Y/N? Does the Dreaming not contain enough interest for you? I have taken you to Fiddler's Green, have I not? What beauty is contained on this device that cannot be seen in a reality more prepossessing than that which is real?"

"Well..." you start nervously, "I like to...game."

"You lie," Morpheus notes, confused but dispassionate about your falsehood. "Why? Tell me, in truth, what is it that you need this for?"

You suppose you would have had to admit this to him at some point anyway. "I argue with strangers on the Internet sometimes."

Morpheus frowns. "Argue? About what?"

"Lots of things," you shrug. "Mostly fandom. Sometimes people say that Good Omens isn't a good book and I have to own the antis on an epic scale. Or they say that SuperWhoLock is trashy, homophobic, and should've died out in 2012. Or that Loki from the Avengers isn't sexy in a greasy way, he's just greasy."

"Loki, you say?" Morpheus asks, looking disturbed. "Well, Y/N, this is concerning. I did not create you a computer for this..."

"No!" you shout, desperate. "How am I supposed to call out the people that call me out for 'fetishizing gay people'?"

"You have to what?"

Morpheus doesn't seem to understand what Y/N is saying. It's okay, though, you'll be able to convince him.

"I can stop at any time!!!" you promise. "I can, I just like it. It's soothing!"

Y/N's anger seems to sway him.

"Perhaps..." Morpheus muses, "Perhaps the computer was unwise."

With a wave of his hand, the desk and room disappear and you are standing with him in a beautiful valley surrounded by rolling hills, moss-covered trees, and shimmering waterfalls. None of that registers to you, though, and you fall to your knees. Finally touching grass...but at what cost?
