on the topic of that fic….. and as a general thing… the end of ruin and rising sucked so bad because of what it did to alina BUT i have a question… for those who read it and also did not like it…

i’m going to nix alina ending up with mal (anyone really) and ‘Settling Down’ at the orphanage BUT. i am curious on if she should 1) keep her powers or 2) still end up giving them up/losing them

like i suppose narratively it made sense for her to lose them but i think she could’ve kept them/still dispersed the summoning by getting rid of the amplifiers just so that shes Normal. you know? but i’m curious

if you’ve read the books (Please don’t vote if you’ve only seen the show), what do you think is best? keeping in mind that in this situation she is NOT going to marry mal and settle down with like. a dozen kids

(what is she doing do afterward? idk actually. and yes i know if she keeps them she will likely have to grapple with still Being Alive and the religious aspect surrounding her but i’m just Exploring My Options right now and want a general consensus; but if anyone has any ideas for dealing with that i am also all ears!)
