What Do CBN Mounted Points Mean?

CBN mounted points are diamond grinding points that have a coating of cubic boron nitride (CBN) on them. The CBN coating makes the points very hard, so they can be used to grind very hard materials. 

The points are mounted on a tool holder, and the tool holder is then attached to a machine that spins it. The spinning of the tool holder causes the points to grind the material that they are in contact with.

Features Of the CBN mounted points

CBN mounted points are used to produce very high-quality surfaces. They are particularly useful for the grinding and finishing of hard materials where a high degree of accuracy and surface finish is required.

The CBN mounted points consist of a cylindrical body made of steel, with a number of diamond grit impregnated on the circumference. The body is mounted in a tool holder which is in turn fitted to the machine spindle.

The grinding wheel is brought into contact with the workpiece and the rotation of the spindle causes the wheel to rotate. The diamond grit on the circumference of the wheel grinds.
