Kim, Wow Silver Whinnys are Fab!!! I've just swapped the sox after the first 24 hours, I cannot believe how dry her leg is, they are all drier than they have been but the one with the sock on is bone dry, I can't get over it, onwards and upwards 😃 This is the colour of it and her leg was dry, feeling very positive thank you. I cannot tell you how Silver Whinnys have helped me in terms of feeling more positive. I was at my wits end, I just wish I'd done it sooner. Thank you Liz France for sending me the pictures and updates ❤️ If anyone is curious and wants to know more about Silver Whinnys by Sox For Horses just send me a message, I offer online support on FB at Sox For Horses UK with SFH President and the US Ambassador Michelle x #soxforhorses #silverwhinnys #mudfever #mudfevertips #mudandhorses #leukocytoclasticvasculitis #horseproblems #horsestuff https://www.instagram.com/p/B40HJZYnPl4/?igshid=1uu7ehlzdsl1l

Photosensitivity is the skin’s reaction to UV rays in sunlight. It can be a cause of—and contribute to—vasculitis, making it a major contributing factor to equine pastern dermatitis (EPD). Horses with white legs and pink skin suffer more commonly from UV sensitivities. Whether photosensitivity is the direct cause of dermatitis or worsening already existing dermatitis, this contributing factor of EPD might be the easiest to win. You can’t change the weather, and you can't always change where you keep your horse. That's where Silver Whinnys made by Sox For Horses, Inc., can help owners control some of those otherwise “uncontrollable” factors. Any questions about anything, just ask! #silverwhinnys #soxforhorses #pasterndermatitus #leukocytoclasticvasculitis #photosensitivity #mudfever #mudfevertips #outdoor_functional_wear https://www.instagram.com/p/COuIRR3nw8W/?igshid=160zcqx4qxp9c

Particles of Silver are embedded in the yarn of the Sox. The Silver in the Sox forms an antimicrobial barrier that prevents dangerous microbes from reaching the skin. Bacteria and fungi must pass through the double layer of protection in order to re-infect the skin. The Silver used in the construction of our Sox will never wash out. It will not weaken. It will not degrade over time. We do not use “infused” silver, which is a method of dunking garments in an environmentally egregious chemical bath. Our Silver is there to stay in our Sox and meets the highest level of environmentally safe manufacturing standards. The Silver in clean, dry Sox is at peak ability to inhibit bacteria and fungi for 24 hours. After that, the action of the Silver diminishes as the barn dirt eventually overwhelms the Silver, and the Sox must be washed to regain their effectiveness. If your horse has dermatitis, sores, wounds, fungal infections, or an injury, the Sox must be changed at least every 24 hours and replaced with clean Sox so that the cleanest bandage/barrier is always in place over those conditions. Healing can happen when sores/wounds/injuries are protected against insects and the dirt of the environment. Changing the Sox daily ensures that the Silver is at its greatest ability to inhibit microbe growth • • We offer online support and are there for you and your horse ❤️ • #silverwhinnys #soxforhorses #equinepasterndermatitis #mudfevertips #outdoor_functional_wear https://www.instagram.com/p/CLg4Qx5nfsl/?igshid=1jilb3piw6kdm

🌟🌟🧦🧦SOX TIPS🧦🧦🌟🌟 Have a scroll through the images and captions ❤️ Do consider the area of the skin condition: I wouldn’t wear the pastern wraps 24/7 on a scabby pastern as the Sox need to breathe, but it’s good for daily turn out or short timings! Neoprene turn out boots can make the legs hot - but are good on a cold day with the Sox underneath, then off when stabled at night. Common sense on some of these. 🤪❤️ Some methods may work for you, some may not. These photographs show what I have done since December 2019. You do not have to do anything the same as me! I’m just a random horse owner trying to find the best way to deal with a youngster with scabs. I don’t work for Shires or Silver Whinnys. ❤️🐴 • #soxforhorses #silverwhinnys #mudfevertips #outdoor_functional_wear https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ_7u75Hwnb/?igshid=ew7te45urd4r

“Thank you for being such a great help! Would love to help more people discover these miracle Sox” - Lou and Ozz Lou reached out to us when her horse of 9 years, Ozz, came down with a nasty case of mud fever. She treated it, he healed and they had months where all was well. But....2 months ago the dermatitis came back with a vengeance! Lou tried everything, was able to stop it from getting worse but “it just won’t go!! 😩 Even the vet hasn’t been able to help! I’m at my wits end with it now, honestly believe I have tried every lotion and potion and nothing gets rid of it!!” Day 8 in Sox: “Just wanted to give you a quick update! I decided to keep Ozz in as I wanted to give the legs the best chance to heal, we are FINALLY getting there!! I guess it’s a well established bacteria after being there for over 2 months! The Sox have been incredible, he is an angel getting them on and off! Ordered more today! They seem to fall down overnight (no idea what he is up to!! 🙄) May try boots or maybe more tape. Will brave turnout soon but just want a little more healing first! Thank you so so so so so much for everything!!” Day 14: “I’m so happy I could cry!!! His heels look amazing this morning, a couple more days and hopefully I will be brave enough to turn him out again!! It’s been up and down with the bugger chewing the heels a couple of times making it worse...but I see the light!! Thank you so so much for everything!” Day 18: “We are finally clear!!!!!! 🎉 🥳 he is back out with his Sox on and boots. Thankfully it hasn’t rained too much so he is coming in pretty clean! Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you again for everything! You were my saviours as I honesty didn’t think it would ever go!” Anyone who has struggled with some form of dermatitis knows it can be tough to heal. Even with the Sox, horses can be in pain or get itchy during the healing process, causing them to go at the Sox, chew at their skin or step on/rub their legs. Don’t give up!!!! We are here to help you every step of the way. If you stick with Silver Whinnys, those legs will heal!!! • #silverwhinnys #silverwhinnysox #soxforhorses #equinepasterndermatitis #mudfever #mudfevertips #equinevets https://www.instagram.com/p/CHYah1DH_Ag/?igshid=1wz1z6t8jek18

“I will take photos daily but just wanted to show you from no Sox to the first three days in Sox. Can’t believe it!! I have a 15yr old mare who has had issues with her legs for years now. We’ve been through so many potions from the vet and others. I've always managed her skin condition by washing every few days with warm water and blue washing up liquid to clean and loosen scabs. I've then used a cream which usually works quite well but never completely removes it all. She lives out 24/7 and is in full time work. Honestly amazing. I would have bought the Sox earlier but I’ve tried creams with silver in them with no effect so honestly didn’t think they’d work. Now gutted I didn’t take the plunge earlier. So many antibiotics for cellulitis, so many potions... I can now touch her leg without her flinching! Bless her 💗” - Beth . #silverwhinnys #soxforhorses #mudfever #mudfevertips #pasterndermatitis #outdoor_functional_wear https://www.instagram.com/p/CG7ydrXHObU/?igshid=qdqh6mm088p7

QUESTION #16 How long will the silver last in the socks? The silver is embedded in the yarn of the socks. It will not degrade, weaken or wash out for the life of the socks. Each time you wash them, the silver becomes as powerful as it was the day you bought them. https://ofw.one/sox-for-horses . . . #silverwhinnys #soxforhorses #mudfever #mudfevertips #mudfeverhelp #outdoor_functional_wear https://www.instagram.com/p/B9QqjJgHBAm/?igshid=1pihg4qr6a9t3

“I wish I had given the Sox a try earlier - it would have saved me a ton of money, time and tears and helped my gelding when nothing else really did!” “Hi - Just wanted to send some pictures, before & after six weeks 😊 There was an instant improvement after the first few days and his legs continue to improve after battling this problem for months. After a few days, putting them on and taking them off was pretty easy 😊 I only use mirfulan, a zinc ointment - no ointments with antibiotics and corticosteroids that only help in the short term and then make things even worse. One ointment cost 50€ per 50g and I would have to use at least one and a half/week + throw-away bandaging, so probably spent something like 130€/week in total. I don't want to know how much I spent on vet bills, ointments, supplements etc. I wish I had given them (the Sox) a try earlier - it would have saved me a ton of money, time and tears and helped my gelding when nothing else really did!” - Lisa When all else fails, Silver Whinnys SOXCEED!
