Roadtrip Sat. 29/06/2019

At 8am I got to meet the group that I’ll be traveling with for the next 8 days. The 2 guides, Rachel and Sam, devided us over 2 vans since there’s 26 of us! I ended up with 12 girls from Germany, Italy, Sweden and Denmark, Spain and Colombia. And Rachel.

Our guide Rachel drove us to various must-sees in San Fransisco: Lombard Street (famous, very steep street with eight hairpin turns).

Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Golden Gate Bridge. I managed to walk up to the first pilar/ pole (?).

The Painted Ladies (a tight, escalating formation of Victorian houses).

And Haight-Ashbury (neighborhood known for its hippie vibe) for lunch.

We spent the afternoon driving to our first camping spot, a warmer area somewhere in the mountains, close to Yosemite National Park . It reminded me of the south of France.

Once we arrived, we learned how to set up our tents and got started on dinner; spaghetti. We enjoyed a lovely first evening with s’mores at the campfire.
